It is hard not to find anything at HomeSense that is not priced reasonably. Like other reviewers have mentioned, since it is located on Merivale Road, it should be avoided on the weekends. Not only that but avoid this location on Monday's as well, the stock is usually low, and the store is left with all the "left overs" from the weekend, that did not sale. Usually give it a day or two for the staff to load up the shelves with new goodies after their weekend rush. Best time to shop is Tuesday-Friday in the evening or morning. Minus the drive on Merivale the trip to Homesense was pretty good. This Homesense is massive! There are a lot of items at this store and like most Homesense's the stock changes weekly. There were a lot of items for the house, some nice, some awfully hard to look at! The good thing about this Homesense is that there are a lot of items for pretty reasonable prices. I'd recommend going on a weekday as Merivale seemed like a zoo today and I hear it's like that on weekends.

(They also had a shelf dedicated to the skincare line I'm from, however they were out of stock of everything from that line.) The store is cute and aesthetic, and has the typical cute plushies and little accessories that most Korean stores tend to have in stock. They also have a variety of korean makeup products. However, something to note is that their prices are slightly more expensive than the average Korean product (like by a dollar or so, when compared to online retailers, but not a big deal at all). Something to note- currently, they have a "no refunds" policy. Only exchanges are permitted for "unopened beauty and electronics within 14 days after purchase with original receipt." The store is located across from the Sephora store in Bayshore Mall, which is perfect so you can grab all your beauty and skincare needs all at once! All in all, definitely a store you should check out!

I love their home section here - they have a great baking and cooking selection and lovely pictures that don't fall on my head because they are smartly stacked at waist height (take note other locations!). I always, always find a ton of things I love here, but the prices can still be a little intense. They do sell higher end brands and you'll pay for them, but of course not as much as you'd pay at other stores (i.e. a pair of Coach sandals might run you $80). I love that they have brand here I usually order online, even their hair products like Cake. Winners - I love you. Sometimes, you stress me out, but this location really is the best fo the best.

This is the Loblaws in Bells Corners. It's next to Zellers (one of two that are still in existence…read moreafter their massive closures; the other one is in Toronto's Kipling Queensway Mall btw). This Loblaws is medium-sized. It's not as big as the huge ones like the one at College Square, but it's bigger than the small ones like at Carlingwood Mall. This one has less prepared foods, but it does carry some random items that most other Loblaws don't carry, like Mediterra Savoury Protein bars. In fact, their protein bars selection is quite impressive. Their layout is not the best. They have their "discount/clearance/50% off" section on the other side of the cash register. So if you don't know that it's there, you only see it after you have paid for your groceries and are about to leave. So if you see something in the clearance section that you want, you have to go back in line to pay for it :P They really should move it, but I guess that's the only place they have for it (??). Also the aforementioned protein bars are found in 2 separate sections, one in the health food/nutritional supplements section and then they have some in a random "island display" in the middle of the refrigerated and frozen food section. It's in this random display that they have more "exotic" protein bars that I don't see in most grocery stores. Very weird. The prepared foods are also tucked away in scattered places. It took me a while to find the roasted chickens (towards the back of the store in a tiny section). Also one of the first things you see when you enter is the fish section (uh, not the most appealing...) Anyway, I am familiar with the idiosyncrasies of this location, so I like it, but some people may find the layout strange. Lots of free parking in the parking lot.

Went in to pick up a few groceries after work. When I got to the checkout only two were open and both had long lines. Their express checkout was closed. So I skipped the checkout, left my groceries behind, and went to Sobeys instead. Sobeys had five checkouts open and, with my four items, I was processed through the express quickly. If you've got time on your hands and enjoy standing in the checkout line, this is the store for you. Come on Loblaws, Hire a few more students!

This Giant Tiger is an Express Store, which means it's much smaller than regular Giant Tigers. It feels a bit small and dingy, and is essentially a discount convenience store. The regular Giant Tigers are discount stores, similar to the now defunct Bargain Harold's in Toronto, or Bi-Way (which shut down, but I heard they will re-open a slightly re-branded store on Orfus Rd in Toronto (it will be called "Bi-Way $10 Store")). So the quality of the clothing there is not great, and the toys are usually not brand names, but they have inexpensive grocery items. Giant Tiger is a Canadian company and it originated here in Ottawa (the very first location was in the Byward Market, and it's still there). I've only been in this location a few times. It's not my favourite, but is convenient for the local residents.

The exit is straight to the parking lot that has an elevator to lower levels of mall parking floors.

It even has a drive thru (!) - which I imagine is for dropping off and picking up prescriptions only, but I dunno, maybe you can go to the drive thru and say "I want a case of Pepsi, a bag of Lays BBQ chips, and a box of Oreos." I don't know! I've never used the drive thru at a drugstore, lol. The FreshCo is similar to other FreshCos, and the Dollarama is also pretty standard. There are a few dining options there: Mongolian Village Grill West, Gabriel Pizza, Quesada, and Athens Grill. The only clothing retailer is The Outskirts, which is a higher end (aka expensive) boutique. The aesthetics lean a bit mature for my tastes, with brands like Eileen Fisher and Gerry Weber. They do carry lots of Canadian brands, like Spanner, Joseph Ribkoff, and Frank Lyman, which have some cool and funky pieces, but also some matronly items (in my opinion). Definitely not a store that I personally would frequent, but being a hardcore shopper, I had to step in to see what it was all about, haha. Other businesses include a TD bank, Avis car rental, a medical clinic, a pet store, a kitchen and bathroom studio, a cannabis dispensary, a hair salon, and a place called "This is Healthful" which calls itself an "Educational Prevention Clinic and Health Centre" - whatever that means (?) {shrug emoji} There's lots of free parking.
