Heard the ice cream was good, so we stopped by to try it. On the street you can smell the waffle cones. An amazing smell! Busy place, but they kept people moving in good time. Each of us enjoyed our ice cream! Blackberry/ black raspberry (can't remember) was really good! Waffle cones are good as well. Bathroom is cute- looks like it's ice cream with sprinkles. Driving through Gillette on I-90, Yelpers said this was the best locally made ice cream, and you were right! Nice shop with lots of choices, located right in town with plenty of street parking. More importantly - the treats! The sweet smell of fresh Waffle cones welcomes you as you walk in. They are well made - crispy but not dry. Ice Cream Cafe makes small batch ice cream full of flavor with creamy consistency. Twenty four (24!) flavors available at the same time. I had the Strawberry Rhubarb (yum!) and Vanilla (tasty & creamy) in a Waffle Cone, my brother had Salted Caramel (referred to it as the best). It was hard to choose, so I had tasters of the huckleberry and the chocolate, too. I almost got another serving - it's that good. Scoops are decent sized for the price. Service was friendly and helpful, even with a busy line. They also sell ice cream cakes and ice cream sandwiches with a variety of homemade cookies. Pints or quarts available if you want to scarf down in privacy. I would eat here weekly (at least) if I lived in Gillette, and would get off 90 to stop on the way through next time. They allowed us to sample and I chose the Honey Lavender and Nutty Cherry. We love their coconut pie ice cream! Their staff could be friendlier...they are not very interested in interacting with customers, but the ice cream makes up for all of that. In the area for work and just happened to see this place in a strip mall going down the street. They have a good selection of flavors as well as different cones to choose from. My friend got the vanilla malt, and I had a double scoop of black raspberry and toffee. They were out of this world. The ice cream has an awesome texture and tons of flavor. The folks that work the counter were real friendly and helpful too. I'm not saying I'd drive 1200 miles from home just to come get a scoop but if I were in Wyoming again I would try and make it back over here. read more
