We had breakfast here today and it was okay but nothing more. The place in the middle of Camden Market is based on self-service or ordering via the app. You download the app, choose your menu, place the order, pay over it as well and the food is brought to your seat. We study the menu and decide for some typical English breakfast with baked beans, hash browns, sausage, fried eggs and toast. I opt for all of those ingredients in a wrap. Sounds interesting, I get it. The place is quite big and the drinks are served quickly but the food takes a bit too long and is only lukewarm when brought to our table. Not so cool. But the food is ok and rather cheap. Overall a breakfast you can have but nothing really special. read more

So we came here because we heard it was a must go to place in London. Started out bad, ended worse. Ordered the "nachos" which was advertised as nachos w guacamole, chillies, and sour cream. It was literally a thing of nacho chips with microwaved cheese on top and 3 lumps of guacamole sauce, salsa, and sour cream. We ordered the salad advertised as "pulled chicken, avocado, and candied maple bacon" and the result was cold chicken you unfreeze, easy make bacon that wasn't even microwaved, and avocado that was rotten. Formally a Lloyd's No 1 Bar, the Ice Wharf is part of the Wetherspoon pub chain. I'm not a great fan of Wetherspoon's usually as I find that they are normally on the dark side in their decor, with little daylight. You can't argue with the prices though. The reason I have given this particular branch 4 stars is because of it's setting. The pub is in the heart of Camden, right on the lock, overlooking the canal on the opposite side of the Camden Lock Market. There is quite a large outside seating area, with great views of the lock. Watching the barges manoeuvre through weeping willow trees on a nice sunny day, is something I never tire of enjoying. The pub itself is huge with a long bar, lots of tables and booths, plus an elevated seating area. Like the other Wetherspoon pubs, there are no stools at the bar. I'm sure this is to make sure the area is clear to just encourage the area to be used for serving purposes. Shame as standing/sitting at the bar in a pub is something I usually like to do when I'm enjoying a pint. I usually come here on a Monday morning, after I've finished my weekly shop. What I really like is that they currently offer a bottomless mug of filter coffee for just 99p. You can have as many refills as you want up to 2pm. It's Lavazza coffee, so not too bad. This pub has the usual Wetherspoon traits, like no music, tv with no volume showing only news and theme nights such as curry club, mexican etc. I don't think that I would come here in the evening, as I think the prices encourage drinkers who our out on a mission to fill themselves up with cheap booze before moving on to somewhere else, and it does get rammed, especially at the weekend. For the moment I'm contenet with my 99p bottomless coffee, and probably the best view you can get in Camden. That alone is worth a 4 star status. read more

Possibly the best setting in Central London for a summer cocktail, Lloyd's Bar in Camden Town has an amazing outdoor area where you could even dip your toes into the water. Set right next to the Camden Lock, you can catch the actual lock in operation as boats pass through. The interior is quite large and has a very pub-like feel, though on the weekends the music takes over and people have been known to throw down a groove or two. The best part about Llloyd's Bar is the fact that it's a small pool of normalcy in a part of London usually commended for its weirdness. You're guaranteed okay bar service, good food and drinks at the right price. Go during summer after a Camden Market shopping spree and you'll have made a great decision. This pub is also perfect for the family outing with a menu that caters to the kiddies as well. read more

Pretty solid large pub. The prices were cheap, which is really nice if you're ballin on a budget. The good thing about that is you're not in some hole in the wall spot getting cheap liquor, it's actually right on the water across from Camden Market, so the location is prime. It was really busy when we went, difficult to find a table, and I have to dock a star because they make you go find a seat yourself even in the busiest of times. So you're stuck wandering curiously making laps around the place until you can possibly find a table available. You don't know if they're at full capacity or not until you've lapped maybe 5 times, lol. The food was solid, and they have a great deal on fish and chips. The drinks were good, cheap, and reasonable priced even if you opt for the double. Solid establishment that I have already started recommending to my friends. read more

I do like this place. It is very convenient to the Holiday Inn at Camden Locks. It is much more pleasant early in the week before the crowds get too large and it turns into more of a club than a pub. They tend to run out of the Leffe Blond late in the week, which is a bummer. The staff is very friendly, helpful and work hard. The food menu provides a wide selection of pub food and more. They take American Express too! Huge outdoor seating area if you can get a seat. Very, very busy on weekends! Over 800 people can fit into this place and there is a line on Friday and Saturday. The Ice Wharf Sits right next to Camden Lock, is this huge bar, and open throughout the day, serving great food and real ale. On Sunday afternoon, or any afternoon, I have often gone to Camden town with the girlfriend. I have said on a few occasions, that shopping really isn't my thing unless I'm shopping for food, so the ice wharf is where I reside and wait for her to finish, have a drink, or even a burger. On a sunny day it is perfect, as there is plenty of outdoor seating facing the canal. You can sit and watch the odd canal boat go by, and watch the people of Camden walking across the bridge. On top of that, they have real Ale!! I know that the Ice Wharf is open till late, I have only ever been there to have a few drink with a few friends first and then head out to wherever we are going. I wouldn't really imagine spending the night there, but I know people do. Due to its size and prices, I can fully understand why people do. I myself see it as a day venue, they serve a great platter with potato wedges, onion rings and all the rest, and it can easily fill two people. read more

The Ice Wharf is a nice bar. Its location is cool, right next to the lock so you can take in the calmness that being by water brings, but it is still quite busy and has a lively atmosphere. Space is not an issue, the place is quite large and on my visits my friends and I have had no problems finding a table. In fact we quite enjoyed the booth style seats which were against the wall as it felt like we had a degree of privacy. Being a Weatherspoons however, The Ice Wharf lacks character. It is like a clone of so many of their other establishments around town and doesn't make the most of the Camden vibe. Compared to other places in Camden, it just feels a little bland. On the plus side, it does mean that you know what you are going to get and provides assurances about decent quality food and cheap drinks. Its location also makes it an ideal spot for either taking a break from shopping in Camden Market or as a meeting spot for gig go-ers at the Roundhouse up the road. read more

This bar just...creeps me out a bit. Yes, it has free wi-fi. Yes, the drinks are cheap. I think it's just the clientele, mainly old biker men and still-drunk camdenites, that doesn't sit well with me. It's a spacious bar, my friend enjoys their food (their soup, at least) but absolutely nothing about this bar stands out to me, especially when there are so many more unique bars in Camden. I suppose if one is a tourist and wants a commercial pub, then you'll love it. Myself....not so much. read more

I come here occasionally because of where it's situated, on the lock, with a big outside seating area that makes it attractive during the summer months. The inside is OK- it's quite big and the crowd is rather mixed. Nonetheless this place is buzzing. You must, must bring ID and you may even get ID checked at the bar (we were)- as the bouncers and the staff are very vigilant for underage drinkers. The alcohol selection is vast and they serve your standard pub grub if you're in the mood for some stodge. Just a heads up- the toilet cubicle doors have a translucent pane over them which is slightly weird, not to mention off putting (for me anyway). The staff are quite friendly- the guy who served us messed up my order quoting me a different price than expected. Instead of making me pay more he let me pay the price he told me in the first place. If you're into cocktails, however, I would give this place a miss. While they do indeed serve cocktails, most of them are only available in pitchers (for a decent price), I wouldn't expect any expert mixology here. The cocktails are standard gin and juice, slightly sickly and a bit of let down. It's fine if you're looking for something cheap but after having sampled a cocktail here I would've rather settled for a good old beer. read more

Located on Camden Lock, this place is easy to miss. I have been staying at the Holiday Inn for a few months now and never realised this Wetherspoons was here. It was a Tuesday night, so it was steak night. I ordered the 14oz Angus Steak and spoiled myself with a side of Peppercorn sauce and some onion rings. I also had a pint of Coors light. The whole thing came to a whooping £12. This is why I love Wetherspoons, when eating out in London i tend to find the prices are insanely high for some of the most common foods. The service in here was typical Wetherspoons. You come in, find a table, take a note of the table number, approach the bar, order and give your table number. The food arrived after about 15 mins, and was actually decent. My only criticism is that i love my steak blue. They refused to make it blue, so i settled for rare. To be honest this was no deal breaker for me. The food overall was pretty good for what i paid. I really felt that i got great value for money. The server at the bar was really friendly. The atmosphere was also a typical Wetherspoons, people where talking at a reasonable volume, with no music in the background. I will have to visit here more often, considering its a perfect location to my hotel and the prices are very cheap, even for a beer. The service was good, but i imagine that was due to it being a Tuesday night. I dare say weekends will be demonstrably different, but you should expect that everywhere you go. read more

The service was very friendly and had the usual weather spoons menu and offers. The pub is a mix of Camden locals and tourists as it is just across the water from the lock market which makes for great people watching. My food came quickly and as I expected. If heading along on an evening, be warned that you are not allowed to wear a hat and of course you are advised to bring ID with you to be checked over by the friendly door staff. The Ice Wharf is situated in a stuuning location, and it is nice on a hot summers day to be out with friends sitting in the outdoor seating area, but we warned that it can feel intimidating when walking to the venue in the dark, especially when some of Camden's more undesirables are hanging about trying to peddle their wares. Is a nice location in Camden town , they do special meals depending on the day of the week, have an outside seating area also. They have a large menu but the food is nothing special, I often feel sorry for the tourists who eat there. Considering Camden Market is just across the bridge that has food from all over the world to choose from. I am a big fan of the Lloyds bar chain. The booze is cheap, the food is cheap and with this one you also get a fantastic location on the lock. In the summer eating outside is great as you can really sample the vibe of Camden at your leisure. The bar is stocked to the rafters with offers, such as double shots for the price of singles, and cheap promotions on certain bottles and draught. It gets really busy and tables can be hard to come by even with the venue being so large. As Lloyds go, you know what you are getting and their standard rarely slips. Just don't expect Michelin standards and you won't be disappointed. You can get a good hearty meal, a beer and a chaser for less than £10. That sounds like a good deal to me. In the daytime it is open to kids with a good menu just for them. In the evenings it livens up with louder music and a good time vibe. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon/early evening for drinks, and it was so much fun! Drinks were well priced... I can't imagine how good of a deal it must be during happy hour!! It was pretty much self-serve, though someone was cleaning up after the tables. It took a while for them to clear our table, but we had to grab it once we saw people leaving because then we would be joining the crowd comfortably standing in front of the bar. The next person waiting on tables was much more attentive and even offered to take our orders so maybe floor seating is meant to be service, or at least for food. We didn't mind grabbing drinks from the bar since it was quick anyway. There were a ton of people inside and outside the pub, but the noise level was still perfect. The tables near the windows are lovely between the hours of 2pm and 8pm. After that, people inexplicably line up to get in here. It's a great (read: cheap) place near work to go for drinks with colleagues, but I would never go out of my way to be here. The crowd is...interesting. It seems very touristy, maybe, or like somebody tricked these people into going out in Camden and they needed to keep their destination as un-Camden as possible. Horrid service! Rude waitress with a draconian demeanor pacing the outside seating, which had tons of seating, demanding no one sit there who wasn't dining. My mother had the chicken, I went next door had the sushi and was going to seat next to her. Literally a handful of diners outside and this troll forced us to leave. The sushi place gladly let us sit and eat. Paying customers shouldn't be treated this way. Especially tourist, in a heavy tourist area. Also the food was bland and clearly just heated breaded chicken out of a freezer bag. I highly recommend that if you're on holiday steer clear of this painfully rude establishment! read more

A Lloyds Bar is a Lloyds bar is a Lloyds bar right? Well, no actually, this one is the best I've come across. This is the Lloyd Grossman of the chain. The big brother of the Wetherspoons group, this has the same feel. Boasting a wide and cheapish range of drinks and large snack/meal menu, this place is huge and it's decked out all modern so it actually makes for a nice place to hang out in. If the weather is good then you ought to sit outside on the tables or, as we did, stand on the canalside watching the barges 'zoom' by. Soak up some of that Camden vibe! What a nice spot in Camden! When it is warm outside and the sun is shining then you should come here and sit near the canal and have a drink. The pub inside is quite big but nothing special so I would really recommend coming here on a nice day to sit outside. It can take a while to get served at the bar and it seems that men are getting served quicker (don't ask me why, the bartenders were men too). During the week this is an excellent Wetherspoons Lloyds bar in Camden, worth a visit for the cheap high quality ale on offer even if the weather isn't suitable to take advantage of the outside tables by the canal. There is a younger and less 'eccentric' crowd than many pubs in this chain tend to attract. But the pub has a dark side. Every full moonI meanweekend it is taken over by an unfriendly and aggressive group of bouncers who make getting in and out of the pub a dangerous experience. I was lucky enough to be merely pushed to one side because I was stood in the way of one of them and something.probably his next fight. (I actually only saw them punch one personbut then I was staying out of their way after I realized what a menace they were). I couldn't believe quite how unpleasant they were so I checked around on the internet and it seems a lot of people have taken issue with it. This bar/restaurant has a nice environment indoors as well as a large appealing patio area for the nice summer time weather. However my experience was just average. They do serve food here, but we just stopped by for after dinner drinks. The service was a bit slow at the bar. They do have a wide selection of Draft and bottle beers as well as full liquor bar. I ordered a bottled Becks but as soon as I took the first sip, realized it was only slightly cold. Definitely not nice cold like a beer should be. Didn't bother going up to the bar to switch it out. We were fighting the elements last Saturday in Camden Town but quickly warmed up when we found The Ice Wharf in Camden Town. Situated just by Camden Lock, just as you walk over that little bridge by the canal. I was amazed to find it quite spacious inside, I expected the pub to be a lot smaller. I really love the seating plan, you have your own space but still feel part of the cozy atmosphere. The prices were still competitive regardless of how many tourists flock to the area. We did not have lunch there as we were stuffed by indulging in some of the treats from the markets but we did have a few coffee's which were great. Should have stayed and made an evening of it but had to travel a long way back home. read more

I don't mind Wetherspoos in general, they are good value for money and this one is spacious, nay cavernous, inside. Considering the location I'm surprised but glad that they've not tried to cram more tables in. Service is fast and friendly BUT.. We ordered an all day brunch and a superfood salad and neither came as described. The brunch was missing hash browns, but the superfood salad was worse as it went from being good value to being a bunch of leave for a £5er because there was not butternut squash, no seeds, and very little brocolli or beans, so essentially some spinach and lettuce. read more

I have always heard about the Ice Wharf and for the first time I have been there. The music is fine and the place is crowded. You can enjoy a beer or a cocktail sat in a small place but without chatting because the music is so high or you can go dancing on the small dancefloor near the bar. Unfortunately I did not enjoy all night because there was a suspect device under the Camden bridge and we were evacuated. However I think I will go once again. read more

My brother took me here forgetting that it was the weekend and that we couldn't take advantage of their cheap weeknight deals, but we still had a good lunch. The food and drinks were still pretty cheap compared to other places I had been, and we got to sit and people watch all the people walking around Camden. I had a super delicious BBQ chicken sandwich.
