I have been working with Mara at Ignite Your Potential for maybe 6 months now and I can't say enough good things about her. I went to her for career guidance as I was at a major turning point in my life and unsure of what direction to head. She helped me find that direction by helping me identify what I really wanted and valued, what my possible paths were and additionally how my strengths fit into that equation. Very easily put, Mara is amazing. I sought out for her help when I didn't know which path I wanted to go down. Working with Meike through Ignite Your Potential was the best decision I made while navigating my career transition. For the past couple of years, I had read many self-help books and attended workshops amongst other attempts at improving my confidence and finding the right career, but nothing seemed to help. I'm past mid-career & have recently begun a new career path...hoping to find a more fulfilling professional life. Although this is a new venture I soon found myself at a crossroads & "stuck" as to what to do next. Working with Dr. Campbell has been one of the best decisions I made. I had been looking for a career life coach to help with some direction in my life, and found the "Ignite Your Potential" center. After the initial chat, she suggested a Myers Briggs personality test, which we would go over in our first session. She used the test as a sounding board to understand how I function, asking me questions and really seeking to understand who I am and what I want. She was gentle yet firm in our sessions, and really pushed me to see my strengths as well as my weaknesses, counseled me to see what was holding me back, and coached me to discover what I truly wanted to do after a big career change and personal slump. I had an amazing experience working with Shannon as my strength coach. I made a big change when I move from Canada to the Bay Area. Trying to find a new path for your career is never easy but it gets even harder when you change countries. Working with Shannon helped me understand first of all which are my real strengths and how they translate to my every day life but most importantly how I can show case them during my job interviews and work them to my advantage. She is an amazing listener and she is very insightful. While working with her I was going through an interview process and her coaching help me understand that I really didn't want that specific job, so it made it easier for me to walk away from the process and stop wasting my time and the recruiter's. For what it's worth, I am not typically a review writer, but I feel compelled to share my thoughts about Dr. Brooks with the world. I have been working with Dr. Christine Brooks for over 3 years; I initially approached Ignite Your Potential as I was unhappy in my job and thinking about making a career change, but I needed some support and a sounding board. I had a consult call with Christine and within minutes I felt a connection with her; I felt as if she understood me, my personality, and I was comfortable. As with anything, I considered the price of the meetings but in the end, I decided it was an important investment in my future and felt I could stop at any point should I not find it valuable. Quite the contrary -- after starting, I never questioned the financial investment. Christine helped me over several months to understand my personality type on the Enneagram scale, how to use it to my advantage in work situations (negotiated a raise!) and helped me to organically gain the courage to make a huge career change. (I am not a fan of the Myers-Briggs or DISC profiles that I have taken in college and throughout my career. The Enneagram is completely different and within minutes of reading the 9 types, I know exactly what I was, and we have used that as a framework for my development for 3 years.) She was my support system, twice a month, for several months during the transition to my new career. I have now enjoyed success that I never thought possible, and I attribute much my confidence and sanity to my meetings with Christine. I still see her every 6-8 weeks because she helps to bring me back to center when I inevitably become overwhelmed with work, life, or if I need to challenge myself, or if I'm having interpersonal issues at work - basically anything. In addition to inspiring confidence, she keeps me grounded and reminds me to come from gratitude. Her psychology background is infinitely helpful and she pushes and challenges me to understand what my goals are and how to achieve them. Other career coaches will steer the conversation away from personal thoughts or feelings or the crappy stuff that happened that day that's affecting your mood, but Christine understands that life is part of work and there isn't a distinct line that can't be crossed. She is never judgmental, always supportive, but will call me on things when needed because that is what I ask her to do. In addition to my friends and family, I consider her an integral part of my life "team." I have referred her to many of my friends and colleagues with full confidence. The best way I can put it: I feel most like my BEST self after I meet with her. If you're considering trying it out, I can't recommend Christine enough. BTW - my meetings have always been via Zoom, and that has never been an issue and it is actually very convenient because I can have our meeting while I'm at my office. Good luck! read more
