This is a moldy, rundown, stinking, garbage heap. Save your money, your hope and your time. You have been warned! My husband and I decided to stay here for our anniversary weekend. It was just over two hours from our home in Concord. We thought it would be a nice, little luxurious retreat in the mountains of this beautiful state. Well we were WRONG! This was the biggest mistake we have made in a long time. We have both traveled (literally) all over the world and experienced hospitality of many different cultures and locales. We were astonished! NEVER have either of us ever experienced anyplace as cold and unfriendly as the Inn at Crestwood. To people who think towns such as the one in "Get Out" do not exist (except in movies) I submit, Boone, North Carolina. It is rare that I give any place a single star, but they deserved less than that. From their cold demeanor, penny pinching service, randown property, to their downright unwelcoming attitude. My husband said "This can't be because you're black; surely black people have stayed here before." I guess we rode into a town of racists who made it clear we are not welcomed and should NEVER come back. We didn't see a single person of color at this place. All other blacks must know something I recently learned this weekend (Get Out). Crestwood Inn staff and patrons need not worry. Their point was very well received. There will be no love lost, as this hotel had NO amenities included. I have stayed at places at a fraction of the cost with more niceties: * No ice machines for guest to help themselves to ice. * Wi-Fi was $5.00 per day * No room service * Dirty upholstery on the ensuite furniture * Cracks in the walls and watermarks on the ceiling * NO FOOD ON Sundays after 8PM (even though their brochure says "dinner served until 9PM") * No courtesy "dirty" clothes laundry bags * Additional fee to use pool and sauna * They provide actual thin trash bags to carry water or soft drinks purchased from the lobby attendant * Very small TV's. Like 22" with remotes that don't work This place looked like a dump, and smelled like one too. There was a dank mildewed smell about the room, also like a wet dirty animal had been kept there. Dirt, water and "other" stains on the carpet. Near the elevator on the third floor, the ceiling dripped and the smell of the dank, rotting wood greeted you the moment you stepped off of the elevator. On our last night there, we planned to have dinner after our massages. To our surprise, the restaurant closed at 8PM. We ended up having to use a takeout service called "Boone Takeout." Take out food for two people was over $60.00. They didn't even include eating utensils? Shoddy service supreme (was the whole town in on it)? The first room they put us in was called a Standard King Villa. It was was a huge bed, mismatched lamps and a bathroom at the bottom of a hut. We could see the tree roots from our view. We upgraded to a "Master Suite" on the second night. When we walked into the suite it was much larger and nicer, but it smelled like gas, and the fireplace would not come on. We wondered "are they now trying to poison us?" We called maintenance to fix it. The sofas were dingy and smelly. There was a scenic overlook on an expansive terrace, but the lawn furniture looked filthy, worn and covered in dried mystery fluids. There were old cigarette butts ground into the terrace. So clearly no one bothered to sweep the terrace. The rug in front of the fire place had burn holes in it, but we were beyond complaining at this point. It is what it is. In addition to the shameless nickel and dime they did to the patrons for every item... At the end they attempted to charge us for two nights at the upgraded price. I read here that many people were treated quite well at this place. There is no way this place stays in the hospitality industry treating "everyone" as my husband and I were treated. It is for that reason I must conclude that this subpar treatment is due to the fact that we are an interracial couple. In conclusion this place is a sweltering dump! Run by very racist hill folk. Dear Staff of Crestwood Inn... Seriously, shame on you!

No no no. What a disappointment. We stayed here many years ago and I remembered it to be a nice place. Not this time. The staff was super nice but the rooms were terrible, I mean bad. Dirty , old and in horrible shape. Half the lights were burn out, fireplace didn't work, jet tub didn't work, the comforter was stained with questionable matter, not worth the money. I actually dont think I m going to stay the 2nd night. The pictures speak for themselves... The pool was only partially filled and the spa falling apart.

My Fiance and I stayed here twice before. Once for my birthday and once for a mini vacation. We loved it so much there thay we're having our wedding there! Its still in the early process but so far the staff have been super responsive and helpful. If you want a venue with a great view and friendly staff this is the place. We are excited to have our family come and stay the weekend with us. The pool is a welcome addition, and the rooms have such a charm to them.

This place is beautiful. Nice, clean rooms- amazing views. Fun indoor pool (although a little chilly), ping pong table, air hockey and a nice Continental breakfast in the gorgeous dining room. Bed very comfortable, rooms not giant but plenty big enough. Would definitely stay here again.

    Frayed electric cord

I only gave it 1* because zero stars is not an option. We booked for a week, stayed one night and switched hotels! Overwhelming scent of cheap cleaning fluids. Our room was in extremely poor condition. The chair was stained, the electric cord was frayed, there was a 4" piece of metal sticking out from under the bed, the window latches were broken, the ceiling had water stains. The breakfast was stale and the eggs inedible. What should have been a romantic getaway ended up ruined! The bar and Restaurant were closed! The only saving grace is the view from the back patio is stunning!!

The room walls are thin so we heard a lot of noise from the outside waking us up early in the morning. You also have to pay for parking at 25 a night but there was a lot of construction making it difficult to get our car out. I know not the hotels fault but definitely keep that in mind. They had really nice robes. They also had a sound machine in the room. We had a thing on the wall that would randomly flash at night and beep. We had issues with the bathroom. The door would not close all the way and We could not get hot water when we tried to shower late at night. We had to go to the front desk and they had to call maintenence which took a bit to work through the issue. Eventually they got the hot water back but an annoying time waster. They discount our stay at 10% for the issue. The breakfast was really nice full of local pastries. The staff was so nice and friendly. The lobby area and bar was super nice and had a cute vibe. The roof top is super pretty at nice with nice fire pits. The staff was super friendly. I would have rated a 4 star but the price was high plus the issues we had knocked it down a star.

Our favorite part was the location. It was so conveniently located. They have a front door with access to king street and a back door to Howard street which was convenient. We were able to come and go easily. The rooms aren't huge but had everything we needed including a mini fridge and the shower was really nice. Of note- it didn't have a huge window in the room, just a small one towards the ceiling. There was a tv with lots of channels and a channel guide. We received some coupons and recommendations to nearby businesses which was a nice touch. Our experience was a bit different because it was very snowy so we couldn't enjoy the rooftop bar. The parking was also tricky- they have a loading zone right in front for checking in, but we circled the block several times and it was taken every time so it was kind of a pain to unload our car. We also had trouble finding the parking lot (even with the address, directions and map) which is behind the hotel, across the street and diagonal from the hotel. We had to circle a few times to find it. But that may have just been because it was dark and snowing. Our favorite part was definitely the breakfast. It is at the downstairs bar. It is complementary when you purchase the parking pass, and you order what you want from a menu. They have lots of options, including fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, and lots of pastries and baked goods from stick boy bakery in town. We love stick boy so this was amazing! So high quality and tasty! They also have other things available for purchase like avocado toast. They also have coffee from a local coffee shop available all day. We would go back!!!

Apparently everyone else does the same thing, because this hotel is on what is apparently the main road traversing the region, and the traffic noise was terrible, which is not what I thought was going to happen in Boone NC. Breakfast is not included, but I had no difficulty finding quality options in the town. I wonder if the road noise would be less with a room facing away from the street, but I'm not sure if that would be the case. Maybe the surrounding mountains create a bowl that reflects all the sound back in. If I had some real quality method of reducing the noise, I'd have liked the hotel more.

The king suite with 2 bedrooms made the stay so much easier with the kids as we were able to put them in separate rooms. The room was clean, well-stocked, and even came with a little balcony. Just a heads up, half of the hotel faces the road and it can be a bit loud with the cars driving by (highly recommend bringing a pair of earplugs).

Ice can only be sourced from the front desk and the bar/dining area can be noisy.
