We loved this B&B! Kate, the owner, was really hospitable. Her dog, Brody, was also adorable! They have pet friendly rooms so our dog loved her dog too. The rooms were nice and clean. The common areas are cozy and charming. They have games you can play in the sunroom too. The B&B is walking distance to a lot - brewery next door, wine bar, restaurants, and the waterfront. We loved our breakfast and the woman who made our breakfast was really nice too and the food was delicious! Highly recommend! We would stay here again if we were in Oriental again. read more

The Oriental Inn was a perfect place for stay while solo traveling. I happened to be in the area and needed a few nights rest and I could not have been happier. I found out later that it is under new ownership, and was quite surprised. Mrs Kate is so warm and knowledgeable about the area I thought she had been here/the owner for years. I had to attend a wedding in the small town of Oriental, NC this weekend and was in need of a place to stay. The groom, who is a good friend of mine, recommended The Inn at Oriental as a place to reside in for the weekend. I took his advice, and I am very glad I did! (Thanks Nick lol). This was a nice, clean, quiet place to relax, get some good rest, freshen up, and even get a good breakfast for a day, or in my case, two! The Inn at Oriental is located right in Church street and is very spacious! They have plenty of parking for their residence, and they can accommodate for just about any time of arrival! I had a 4 hour drive ahead of me, and didn't get there until 8pm and Mrs Lucy was right there waiting on me with a smile and welcomed me with open arms! She showed me to my room, the Nantucket, where I stayed at, and it was more than I could have ever asked for! It had a TV, a queen size bed, a very nice bathroom, with all the toiletries like soap, shampoo, and lotion! Mrs Lucy was very, very welcoming and informative of everything I needed to know which I was very impressed with! She also told me about the things to do in the town, and gave me a map of the area, so I had a idea of what stuff to explore while I was there for the entire weekend! You get a key for your room, and a card as well so if you lock yourself out, you can't contact them at anytime for that or any other reason as they are always available! The breakfast was awesome as well! How they do it is they have a list of breakfast items you can choose from, and you circle the ones you want for the following morning as well as the time you want to eat breakfast and you hang it outside of your door on this nail. Mrs Lucy, and her husband, Mr Lou (who cooks breakfast) will pick it up sometime in the morning, and you will have it served to you on the spot when you go into the dining area! The service was top notch and it was really quiet, which made for a nice relaxing breakfast! They offering the following items: coffee, tea, water, oranges juice, pancakes, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, toast, biscuits, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, fruit and granola! A lot to choose from, and I usually got everything on the list lol. They charge $99 per night for ANY room, and you can stay only one night if you need to. That's a great deal compared to other bed and breakfasts which range in the $150+ range and want two nights minimum from you! They take cash, check, or credit cards which is awesome! Check out was super easy as I just packed up, gave them my key, and headed it out back home! I would highly recommend this place to ANYONE going to Oriental, NC! Mr Lou and Mrs Lucy are two of the nicest, and most professional people I have ever met, and if I am ever back in the area, I know where I will be staying at! read more

I think it used to be their garage, because it is a free-standing structure in the parking lot. Very well appointed, comfortable bed, kitchenette, separate living area. Nice furniture and décor. We were lucky enough to have a family reunion in Oriental, NC and even better, had the pleasure of staying at the Inn at Oriental. Lou and Lucy were wonderful hosts and made our stay so enjoyable. After a very happy happy hour and pleasant a walk around town, we slept like babies in the ever so comfortable and beautifully furnished bedrooms. The beds were SO comfortable. Lou's home cooked breakfasts were delicious and the variety of food available made everyone in our party happy. Fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, granola, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes were available to all, but the best thing on the breakfast menu were the home made biscuits. Lucy and Lou have done a fabulous job upgrading the Inn and there are plenty of rooms that can meet the needs of a couple, a family or a bunch of friends looking for a very special place to spend the weekend. The Inn at Oriental is a place I would highly recommend and return to, family reunion or not. Oriental is a very special place on earth and Lucy and Lou and the Inn make it even better. My wife and I just returned from a trip to Oriental and we stayed at this wonderful establishment. This was our first experience with a B&B, and we were blown away with how gracious and accommodating the owners were and how peaceful and comfortable our stay was. We had originally booked a room for a Saturday night. We were attending a wedding (The Stallings House is a great venue for a wedding btw) At the last minute, we decided to head on down to Oriental that Friday so we could spend a little more time enjoying the town and join our friends for some pre-wedding festivities. Our room was available that night, and Lucy was very nice to communicate with during the booking process. We arrived around five and after checking in and getting our room keys were invited to join everyone on the screened in patio to enjoy a cocktail hour. We were given a map of the town and a short rundown of what was around Oriental. I thought that was a very nice touch and we felt very welcomed. We stayed in the Boothbay room. If you think you may be in and out or possibly out late, this is a great room as it has it's own access from the exterior of the building. It's also a pet friendly room. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were of a very nice quality. The towels that were provided in the bathroom were also of a very nice quality and there were hand soaps, shampoos, and lotions available for use. The room was extremely clean, had cable television, and it's own AC/heating unit. My only complaint, and it is a minor one, is that there wan't much water pressure in the shower. I loved the breakfast. The quality of the food was a surprise, to be honest. It's far better than any hotel breakfast I've ever had. Mr. Lou is a fine cook, that's for sure. The bacon was thick and cooked perfectly and the eggs were delightfully creamy. We selected our choices for food and time of service the night before and we arrived were promptly given service that would rival that of many fine restaurants. The whole experience was wonderful and Oriental is just a charming little town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Inn and I feel sure that we will return. If you want a laid back, quiet, and comfortable place to stay I would highly recommend giving the Inn a try. read more

I really liked the details in this place. The couple that owns the Inn are so sweet and will give you the best conversation you've had with strangers. Our stay at the Inn at Oriental was absolutely perfect. Lucy, the proprietor and host, was incredibly nice and helpful. She greeted us as we pulled in and got us settled comfortably into our room. We stayed in the Nantucket because we had our two dogs with us. The room was beautifully appointed, the mattress was comfortable, and there were lovely little touches throughout that will make you feel as if you're staying in a room that costs much more. We were able to bring our dogs with no question, just an additional pet fee, which was very reasonable. We were treated to a full breakfast the next morning and it was delicious. Oriental is a lovely, small town and everyone is very friendly. It is a peaceful place to spend a night or a few days. The Inn at Oriental is an absolute gem and if you're going to be in this part of North Carolina, treat yourself to a stay here. read more

My husband and I spent three nights at this lovely inn recently and left feeling renewed. The innkeepers, Lucy and Lou, were delightful and very knowledgeable about what to see and do in the area, as well as special places to visit along the way back home. They served wonderful breakfasts to order and offered wines and cheeses in the afternoons. If you're traveling to Oriental you must stay here. The owners are down to earth and will treat you like family. Our room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. The bed and linens were of high quality and I slept like a baby. Breakfast was superb, it rivals any breakfast I've ever had at an inn, hotel, or restaurant. We didn't order the chocolate pancakes, but saw some other patrons with them and were envious. Still, the fruit cup, coffee, eggs, bacon, biscuits, and sausage were all divine. This is a place that cares about what they are serving. Don't miss out on happy hour from 5-6 and enjoy a drink with the owners and other guests.
