Have been here a dozen times because it's convenient, but no more. Cool atmosphere, bar next door, but bad service and quality. Guys are quite arrogant (they believe they are doing you a favor), don't pay attention to instructions, and just want to finish as quick as possible which leads to low quality. What a great place! When I started going here, so many of my friends said, "That's a nice gimmick, Irish guy opens a shop and sells beer." But it's so much more than that. Sean, the owner, really is an Irishman...from "The Old Sod." He's funny, great to talk to in the chair, and most importantly, does a great job. He is clearly passionate about providing a great haircut at a reasonable price and making his shop a place you want to keep coming back to again and again. The cut he gives is very good, and he finishes-off the cut by cleaning up your sideburns and the back of your neck with hot lather and a straight razor...a great touch and, sadly, a lost art that most barbers don't do any more. The pub on the other side of the shop is a great reason to keep coming back too! Draught pints and a trim? You can't go wrong with that. Something I noticed after I was done...the chairs in the shop are very cool! They look like they're reclaimed and reconditioned barber chairs from 100 years ago. Very cool! I have passed this place a half dozen times and after moving to the area and needing a new barber I had to check it out. I'm so glad I did. Sean is friendly and more importantly an expert barber. We talked about his history while we watched us some Irish football quarter finals and he cut my hair quickly and accurately. He asked how I wanted it cut and actually corrected me on what gauge razor guard I needed on my fade. He gave me the best haircut I've had in years, with the lathered straight razor neck cleanup. I'm just in town for my brothers wedding, I called last minute and Sean was able to fit the whole wedding party in this morning. The place is clean with a great atmosphere, Sean is hilarious and a genuinely great person. We all got amazing haircuts and fantastic straight razor shaves. Have been going here for more or less a year. The remodel is nice and much more spacious. I get a very simple cut and for the price, it's a little steep (over $20 and in and out in around 10 minutes). I've never minded until last time I was there and was cut on my neck which drew blood. No apology, just a quick dab of some powder mixture and a full priced bill. Irish Barber has been my go-to because of convenience and a laid back atmosphere. Not particularly a good deal, and the quality just isn't there. I'll start looking elsewhere. read more

Was told this was the place to go for a trim of the beard. Not happy one bit. I know a few people that have gone there and have nothing but great things to say. I asked to have my beard sculpted and that I didn't want any length taken off. I guess what she heard was chop off as much as needed. When I got to my car and looked closer the part where my mustache and beard meet are 2 different widths. Don't think I'll be returning any time soon. read more

Darren has always given me great haircuts over the last couple years. I've had Sean cut my hair when Darren wasn't there one time and it was great too. It currently costs $17.50 for an adult cut, straight razor on the neckline and brow trim included. I tip an additional $17 every time; that's what I think the peace of mind is worth. I haven't gone anywhere else after getting my haircuts here. Be careful pulling in and out of the parking lot. There are 2 entrances/exits and if you exit the one closer to Wooster Rd. you can see if there are cars coming. You won't be able to see if you use the other one. There is a very upbeat and optimistic vibe here. Very family friendly, there's a kid's area with toys. Darren and Sean really seem to have a great time at work. It's a great experience for me every time even though I'm usually half asleep. Within the last year or so there is a lady barber working there and she seems like a nice person. read more

After growing my beard out for 5 months, I decided it was time for a trim. I took a chance on a place I'd never been too, and couldn't be more disappointed. The barber was nice, but did not listen to the simple things I asked for. It was so poorly done that I'm considering shaving altogether; it will take me another 3-5 months of patience to get my beard back to how I like it. Been going here for years but now it's time to say farewell. I live about 15 minutes away but have been making the drive for as long as I could (past 2 years). I've always enjoyed going to this place, and can't give enough respect to Darrin (my barber). But the past 2 times I've went there I've had to get my cut from someone else. I HATE having to get my hair cut, it stresses me out when I think about it, especially when a) I don't know if my preferred barber will be there b) I have to drive 30 minute round trip c) there is no telling how long I might have to wait to get my "preferred barber", as others are waiting for him as well, sometimes I've waited over an hour. I could ask what days he works, but I'm a guy, I don't like thinking that I have to plan out my haircut too much. I'd rather take less quality somewhere more convenient. They now have wifi which is good, sorry I don't know the pw. They give great haircuts and are a great neighborhood barber. I just wish i still lived 2 blocks away read more

Using a straight edge, razor, blade, long blade, etc., the art of cutting a man's hair is distinguished by this skill. Here, the barbers are real barbers. The staff is extremely friendly. My two boys and I get our haircut here, and though Darren has become our barber, anyone here cuts hair extremely well. I have had Sean and Christine both cut my hair and am never disappointed. The comment from another user about having to wait, maybe Saturday afternoon when everyone else is there may cause a bit of a wait. If this establishment wasn't so incredible and didn't have people wanting and willing to wait in order to get their hair cut, that would mean they are NOT a great barbershop. I have waited on the average 10-15 minutes to get my haircut over the past three years and have gone on all sorts of days and times. I highly recommend the Irish Barber. Additionally, my hair is kept short, my boys hair, they get it cut with scissors all around. I get a number 2 on top and a 1 one the sides. The tapper, fade, blend is the best. Darren even trims my eyebrow hair and gives me two eyebrows instead of a unibrow. This place has wifi and if you want a drink before or after your haircut, you can get one here. Went in today for my 4 year old's haircut. He's been to a bunch of other places and was a little nervous about the clippers before and coming into today. Needless to say, by the end of the cut he wasn't afraid and got the best cut he's ever had. I've been there before but went other places out of convenience, but after today there is no where else my son or I will go for cuts. read more
