So they lost our reservation! But boy did they make it upto us! Free Prosecco for us all, and a speedy table rustled up so we hardly waited at all . Now that is great service. I was impressed with how good they were. We had a great table , the restaurant is really nicely decorated, very pretty and colorful. Service was really good, very proper and British! Very classy place and a great spot for our reunion dinner. They have some fabulous cocktails and a great wine list. We got the truffle Aranchini balls and the salt crusted sourdough bread for the table. Both fabulous. The bread . Wow. I got the scallops for my entree, also amazing, truffle risotto, with Parmesan foam. Very delicious dish. Scallops melted in your mouth. The fish and chips, were super fancy. Served with mushy peas, lovely fat chips, and the cod was perfectly cooked. The chicken Milanese my friend loved, again looked very fancy, with a fried hens egg on top, brioche crumb, and truffle cream. The chargrilled halloumi, also a big hit, spiced fregola, tomato and red pepper salsa , crispy onions, and herb mayonnaise. Such a great presentation! The entrees were all on point. Our drinks varied from, Prosecco, spritz, martinis. My Ivy martini was nice and dry and a little zesty. Perfect with my entree. They gave us a lovely birthday plate of profiteroles , again the presentation. Amazing. Was a lovely night, of fun, great food and drinks, and I do appreciate their quick handling and solving of the reservation issue. The Ivy, a class act, and a definite spot for any special occasion.

I organized a worldwide team event in Bath and chose this place for one of the dinners. It was unbelievable, let me tell you. I've organized a lot of private dining and this was absolutely the best experience ever. Everything from helping me arrange special meals for my attendees with dietaries, and the service, it was incredible. The food was AMAZING and if you like a bread basket and butter, well, I ate a whole loaf because it was also insanely good. Ten MILLION STARS!!!

A gorgeously decorated restaurant, situated in an old Natwest bank building in the center of Bath. The decor is stunning, we loved it. We sampled a lunch deal which offers some nice appetisers and main dishes. The serive was on point, fast and friendly. A lovely treat, I recommend.

What a great place to pop in for tea in the afternoon. Elegant, simple, and quite enjoyable. Just happened to pop in while walking around and needing some refreshment, and based on a recommendation from a local. There are a series of rooms and we sat at a cozy corner table for two in the rear most room. It offered a nice place to observe the patrons and also observe a couple of the rooms. We ordered the lighter of the two options and it was perfect. There's a choice of teas and the pots cans steamy hot and the tea was excellent. The scones and cream were perfect! Service was great and overall it was a very nice experience for an afternoon stop.

Wow, what an experience! They treat you like royalty here. I had the thin steak for lunch and it was just perfect. For dessert I had the creme brûlée and it was one of the best I have ever had. The decor here is also five star, very elegant. The staff are very nice and treat you with respect. You can't go wrong dining here.

Excellent mint tea, chicken Milanese, and profiteroles - although you can't go wrong. The decor is fabulous - great place to stop after seeing the baths.

The shepherd's pie was tasty and not greasy and the mash had a lovely toasted top but remained very creamy on the inside.

We were seated in the bar area and I opted for what I thought was a glass of champagne but it turned out to be a champagne cocktail 'the classic'. Wasn't to my taste! But my mistake. They have no draft beers, but some bottled and a good selection of bottled ciders. We were then seated at a big round table - too big in my opinion cos I felt I needed to shout to everyone on it! The menu looked amazing. As French as you could possibly get so I was in heaven. The waitress then came over and told us half of it they didn't have! Bit naughty not to mention it on the website cos there was a lot missing. I chose the steak tartare to start, It was delicious! Fillet steak minced with pickles and mustard through it, it was quite fiery actually, I think there was quite a bit of Tabasco in it too but it really enhanced the dish. Wasn't sure about the raw egg yolk served on top but I was pleasantly surprised. I opted for a bottle of the Pinot noir which was nice and subtle, the more expensive of the wines at 30ish quid. But that was at the top of the price range on the wine list so quite reasonable really for all the wines ( it helped I wasn't paying too! ). For the main I went for the sirloin steak, served with fries and the best pepper sauce I have EVER tasted. Yes The Yeoman - it beat yours! (can't believe I just said that). I asked for it to be cooked rare but it was slightly overdone. Usually I would have sent it back but it was so tasty I didn't actually need to. Everyone else was thoroughly enjoying theirs too. For pudding I shared a cheese board and again was transported through those pearly white gates. The cheese's where magnific! Melt in your mouth blue, Brie to die for, a lovely smoked one which I thought I wouldn't like. Yum. Yum. YUM! My friends chose the baked Alaska which was flambé'd at the table, it looked amazeballs. We all left stuffed and giddy. It was a real treat, I highly recommend for a extremely pleasant evening out. Thankyou Jane and Keith!

It's got a nice romantic feel to it, especially if you come here at night as every table has a candle on it. As such, it's not really a drinkers pub, but more a family orientated/civilized kind of establishment, but this is no bad thing. There's a good range of ciders on tap, and especially on a summer's day, it's a perfect palce to sit down by the water and sup on a cider, and they've got a large outdoor seating area to allow you to do so. It is a little bit on the steep side in terms of price, but just about worth it if you're coming for a civilized drink or two.

I'm talking about a ploughman's, or fish and chips, or my favourite, welsh rarebit (it's not just cheese on toast if it's cooked properly) with the best homemade chips I have ever had. The service was lovely and friendly, even though it was boiling and very busy. The meals at this pub are served with proper chutneys, cheeses and sauces and actually go some way to convincing you that we do actually have national dishes in this country that people might like to eat. Seriously though, try the Welsh rarebit with a side order of chips and a bitter shandy...that's British summer time...you can keep your fruity Pimms Boris! We actually got off to a bad start as when we arrived all of the outside tables were reserved! So it's the hottest day of the year and a pub with lovely food and a beer garden is losing business by reserving most of their outside tables and not letting people sit on them even when they are empty. This is their choice, but a bit of a ridiculous system to be honest. You are actively turning business away for people who aren't there and could show up at a later time. So my suggestion is book a table. And ok so you wish the pub was facing the other way; more toward the river and less towards the road, but now I'm just nit picking.
