Absolutely delicious. A must try while in Doolin! We stopped into Doolin while on a bus tour to The Cliffs Of Moher and, while our bus driver suggested a pub in the tiny village, we decided to try out The Ivy Cottage thanks to yelp and are so glad that we did. The staff was so friendly and accommodating and the food was fantastic. Two of us had the fish and chips (you may want to ask for yours well done because they were rather soggy) but the fish itself was other-worldly- by far the best we've had in Ireland hands down. We also tried the Beef Stew and the Bangers & Mash which we're also great. We were sad to say goodbye to Doolin but if we ever travel back, will certainly be back to The Ivy Cottage! read more

Driving though town we stumbled upon the Ivy Cottage. The setting is quaint and very charming. The staff is friendly and the place is very clean. I ordered the Pasta special and my wife had the fish and chips. Everything tasted great! The alcohol selection is very sparce, but there's a pub in town for that! Definitely recommend this place for a leisurely lunch! read more

This placed capped off a nice day at the Cliffs of Moher. It's about a 10 minute drive and well worth it. Cozy cottage with indoor & outdoor seating) in tiny Doolin with really good food, excellent service, and amazing homemade desserts. Frank - a retiree from Limerick - owns the place and couldn't be more hospitable. Our family of 4 had the Bacon Double Cheeseburger (huge), the BLT (excellent), the Goat Cheese on Brown Bread (very tasty), and the smoked salmon on brown bread (delicious). For dessert, we ordered the Honeycomb Cheesecake (devine), the Banoffee (banana & toffee - out of this world), and the carrot cake (not as good as the other two). We ended up buying more desserts to take home to our hotel in Galway. Go here. You won't be disappointed. read more

Five stars isn't enough for this cute restaurant. From the moment you walk in, to the moment you are seated, you are left taking in the entire atmosphere. The staff was so kind and inviting! We were instantly sat and waited on. The food was quite simply the best food we've had. There is no wrong choice when picking from the menu. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious! Cozy and homey and warm atmosphere, friendly accommodating staff, great food. We wanted to sit outside under the string lights in the waterside courtyard but got cold and moved inside, staff was very accommodating. Lots of seafood with plenty of landfood options. Great place to eat at while in the Doolin/Cliffs of Moher area. We stopped here on the way back to Galway. My wife had the Soup of the Day which was a Thai soup & enjoyed it very much & I had the Chicken Panini & really liked it a lot. I'm going to have dreams about the seafood chowder I had here yesterday. I was on a tour going to the Cliffs of Moher and we stopped in Doolin for lunch. I'm a Yelper so of course I didn't want to go to the preset lunch place they tried to herd us into like cattle. I walked down the street a bit and found this charming little cafe and grabbed a seat. Service was friendly and efficient. My soup was so piping hot, I burned my tongue. But, no worries, once it cooled off I was in food heaven. Seriously, I'm from MD and I've never had a chowder this good in my entire life. The consistency was creamy with a tad bit of oil from the generous amount of salmon, clams (in the shell!) and I think it was lobster? Who knows but the soup was also a little zesty, which created a crescendo in my mouth. Omg I was so sad when I got to the bottom of the bowl. If you're ever in Doolin, GO to the Ivy Cottage. Trust me, it's totally worth even more than 5 stars. read more

Coming out of help retirement to make sure this little spot gets another review. We had a great experience here - food, service and atmosphere were all great. The fish and chips were incredible, fresh and perfectly breaded. The seafood chowder was also fresh and flavorful. Their menu has a wide variety of options from different culinary influences, in addition to a few Irish classics. It's a happy, very good alternative to the normal Ireland pub scene. But be sure that you can also get a beer and enjoy a pub influenced atmosphere here to some degree too. Very glad we stopped here! read more

Beef stew was alright, the meat was really tender but it wasn't as tasty as other beef in stew's I had in other cities. Tea selection was great, service was good. They are kind of like panera conceptually, where you go to the counter to order and they bring you the food. Gets very busy when the boat tours come in from Doolin Pier. I cannot rave about this place enough. They had the best fish and chips I've ever had in my life! They even had gluten free fish and chips frying it in a separate frier so there is little cross contamination for those of us who are very sensitive to gluten or celiac. One of my favorite places I've eaten in Ireland! We got the meatball sandwich for lunch and it was so delicious. Also had two well made lattes and were served by a super friendly staff. A fantastic place to eat in Doolin after either a sea tour of the Cliffs of Mohr or hiking the actual park, Ivy Cottage offers a few exotic items that set it apart from the traditional Irish Faire (though they do still serve a few staples such as fish and chips). We went here on our fourth day in Ireland after having sampled much of the local food, and we found ourselves craving something a little different. We had the chicken wings (sweet, not spicy) and the lamb burger, which was very well seasoned. The true star of this place is that it has amazing cheesecake desserts, all made from scratch. It is also open until 9, which is later than most Irish restaurants. Highly recommended if you find yourself in or around Doolin! read more

After hiking the Cliffs of Moher we had stopped in at the Ivy cottage to grab a cappuccino and a bite to eat because it was freezing. While waiting for our food we had asked for a phone number for a local taxi to take us back to our car which was about 20 miles . The gal in the front offered to call for us using her personal cell phone then the owner of the cafe offered to give us a ride back. What an extraordinary gift of generosity and hospitality. I was hesitant to try this place since it's located in a touristy area around the Cliffs of Moher, BUT you should definitely dine in this cafe if you're in the area. I've been in Ireland for a week now and can honestly say this is the best food I've had so far. Everyone here is really nice and friendly as well. Excellent food! The fish and chips were flavorful and the tartar sauce was fresh and yummy. My son had the cheese burger and said it was excellent.
