I went to this business with a little and occasional knee pain. I have confirmed osteoarthritis in…read morethat knee. It was on a special, something like $49 or $79, I forgot which but not much. I was looking for exercises I could do to strengthen the knee. That's all I wanted. They took X-rays and told me the other knee that I have no problems with was worse! They never mentioned the special and got me for over $500. They told me all the great things they were going to do. They called it physical therapy not chiropractic. They said they could have a therapist stretch my neck. I don't have problems with my neck but I thought a little neck massage by a therapist would feel good. So, when I got there for my first visit, they showed me a leg brace they wanted to fit me for. It was huge and covered most of the leg from the knee down. For what, occasional knee pain? I said no thanks. Then I went for "physical therapy". It was run by 2 young disinterested guys who talked to each other and obviously didn't care about the job. They were definitely not therapists of any kind. Next I went for a few minutes to the supposed real therapists and I thought, oh good, now he's going to massage my neck. No way! He never laid a hand on me. Only did something with a board that I can't even describe because I don't know what it did. Nothing as far as I could tell. Next I went to the nurse who would give me a gel shot in the knee cap. She did this and at my second visit gave me some little shots around the knee cap. The next day I went to the mall and had so much pain in my knee that I was limping down bad I had to go home. That was my over $500 experience with this place. I was worried about their diagnosis of the knee I had no trouble with, that the knee cap was out of joint, so I went back to the real doctors at Northwest Community hospital and got a real unskewed xray and they said that knee was fine. I quit Body Works after 3 visits and asked for the return of my money. I had been told that my insurance and Medicare would pay most of it. Now they told me, well it's not really physical therapy, it's billed under chiropractic and Medicare doesn't usually pay for that, but we will see. Now after months of reaching out to them, they finally told me that after 3 visits my $500 plus dollars was all used up and that I owed them even more but they weren't going to collect it! How nice of them! So go to Body Works if you want to see a real scam at work!

Immediately I liked his bedside manner and attentiveness; but what stood out was his ability to read the spine - even thru the shirt + sweater that I was wearing. He could quickly feel where pain and tightness was, and he manipulated individual vertebrae while asking questions to assess further. Once on the table, he got cracks out of my spine and neck unlike any that I had ever heard before- I really couldn't believe it! Then, with the acupuncture, he even connected it with the stim-wires and I could feel the healing pulse in my body! It was incredibly relaxing and I was immediately free of pain as soon as I stood up. Cannot say enough about how great this visit was and how excited I am to continue treatment with this doc. The office staff is wonderful and homey. Dr. Turner although he no longer does adjustments/ manipulations is still very much a part of the practice with other kinesiology practices. Dr. Schori has taken over and Lyndsey (Mrs. Schori) is now a practicing psychologist at their office too! I would suggest anyone to come get a consultation . You don't have to purchase the supplements they suggest but it's good to know what your body is saying it needs. I was a patient at Chiro One between 2018 and 2019. I heard about them for the first time when they…read morehad some representatives come to my workplace and offer free "screenings". I think everyone they screened came up with a messed up neck. Anyways, I had received chiropractic care back in Puerto Rico and I had made great gains so I decided to give them a try. My first visit was pretty standard. X-rays, mobility checks, etc. The staff was really nice and the office was clean and organized. The chiropractor gave me a great adjustment and they sent me on my way to come back afterward to talk about my treatment plan. When I came back the Dr. went through my X-rays and the issues with my spine. He gave me his recommendations and left me with one of the assistants to go through the treatment plan and "payment options". The first thing they offered me was a credit line for the max of $2,000 for treatment. No thank you. I, fortunately, have great health insurance and really good coverage so I was confused about why I had to sign up for a monthly payment plan of around $150 a month for these services when my health insurance was also being charged. I've been used to just paying as I go with my previous chiropractors so I didn't know if this was standard practice in Illinois. I hate confrontation and can sometimes be a pushover so I decided to go for it because I honestly needed some relief. After a few months, I felt a lot better thanks to the Dr's adjustments (not the 30 minutes of useless exercises). Also, there were shoe inserts and a back brace thrown in there that I never agreed to. I actually never even signed for the back brace but it still magically got delivered and charged! At that point, the $150 a month charge was weighing on me but they had me locked in for pretty much 6 months and it felt like a gym membership that you just couldn't get rid of. I stopped going but the money kept leaving my bank account every month. Their customer service (Chiro One not specifically Bloomingdale) was laughable. They would NEVER answer the phone and wouldn't respond to voicemail either. It took me weeks to get in contact with someone. At the end of the day they kept charging me for two more months because I somehow "owed" them the full price of treatment even though I didn't complete it. Water under the bridge, they already had my money. Nevertheless, I'm happy with a new chiropractor now that doesn't have all these confusing and borderline shady business practices. :)
