Be aware that this is very expensive if paying on own, from reading the reviews almost everyone gets the same 'personalized' service of 'needing to come in 3 times a week for a couple of months. Nothing personal about that. And most importantly and disturbing is they misled me on my X-ray showing me my 'hip' did not have arthritis but when I went to an orthopedic specialist he showed me 'the correct way to read an X-ray' and it was bone on bone. I'm sure there are some ethical chiropractors out there but it's not here. read more

Been coming here for about two weeks now. The Dr. and staff are very friendly and informative about my family's case. We are introduced by one of the doctors and watched at 10 min video about wellness. After the video, we were instructed to take X-rays to determine our adjustment plans. Once the adjustment plans were presented to us we were also advised the copay plans. After that day we were scheduled a couple of days later. The doctor adjusted my whole family. We felt a little sore the first day but quickly went away after the second. This place is very kid friendly, they focus on children also. read more

I love Dr. Ackermann and the staff at Balnce Family Chiropractic. I went to another Chiropracter and loved him, and he died of stage four prostate cancer. I was devastated, and it took me a while to find someone with flexible hrs that would work with my schedule. In the beginning, I could barely walk. I was having a lot of trouble and in a lot of pain wonder if it was a quality of life anymore. Now I am doing so well. I can climb on ladders. dance the night away, clean without being in pain, and just live life normal. I am also a preschool teacher, so I am on my feet 8 hrs a day, plus I also do P.E. with the kids. So, being able to walk again and move again is amazing. I really thought I was wheelchair bound or in for another big surgery. I feel comfortable. The office is clean. Just a warning - I was a bit disappointed with this practice, mostly the administrative function. I went in for care, knowing that I would be paying some out of pocket (as they are out of my insurance network). I accepted this because I had heard such good things about the practice and they are close to home. However, after accepting the information they gave me about my coverage, and paying what I was told was "my portion" in full right away, they informed me they were wrong and I was then liable for another several hundred dollars. As someone who needed care right away and does not have a disposable income, I was very disappointed. read more

I came here based off of a recommendation. My neck and and upper back have been killing me for the past few years. I get massages but that only relives that pain for a bit. I figured I would try some chiropractic work and see if it made a difference. So far its been a few months but I feel healthier, my posture is better and I have an relaxed attitude. I have to admit I was a skeptic. After dealing with lower back pain for probably over a decade, I had a bad fall which escalated the issue so I knew I had to do something. It was at the point that there were times I couldn't sit up because of a shooting pain. I went in (as a first time patient of chiropractory) and saw Dr Hybl. After a series of tests, she gave me a thorough explanation of what the problem was and devised a treatment plan. She is very knowledgeable and always offers advice. Throughout my treatment, Dr Hybl, the therapists, and staff were always very friendly and helpful. I always felt comfortable. After completing my treatment plan, I can confidently say I have no more back pain and I couldn't be more happy with the results! My posture is better and I no longer have pain after sitting for long periods of time. I will continue to go here periodically for adjustments because I believe it really does make a difference. If you are in the same situation, go see Dr Hybl. You won't regret it. TL;DR: Dr Hybl and staff are amazing. I definitely recommend them. read more

Have been to other chiropractors in Bartlett and thought I would go to these group to see if they were any better. Big mistake. Way more visits and more costly for less and worse results. Thing twice before using this group. I went for hip pelvic problem. Still have that problem plus now have serious neck issue that I did not have before after dr did neck cracking. Told dr but didn't take it serious or care. I didn't go there to be damage in a part of my body that I didn't have any problems with. Can't turn head left or right and numness down both arms to hands. Going for mri on Monday since I have not. gotten better for over a month. I can't believe I paid to have this damage. Said something after first visit that I had this problem start. Talked me into two more visits with getting worse. Called crying in pain to said I would not be coming back got message back that they were canceling the rest of my visits. Please think twice before going to this group. They may have more bells and whistles than other in Bartlett but you are paying more and more visits to pay for this. Less caring because they are seeing more patients in an hour. I should of never have this problem with my neck. It is because they are more concern with number of patients not individuals patients. Would never go to them again. If you want better individual care for less money then do not go to this group. Biggest mistake I ever made!!!!! read more

Is there no option for ZERO stars? I visited this office to hopefully find a doctor who'd help me relieve some pain but instead wound up with more. It started when I received a $235 bill that the receptionist apologized for sending in error (pretty substantial mistake??) and ended with my being completely MISLED. When I tried to voice my dissatisfaction, I was basically called a liar and treated like a child. To my complete surprise, Dr. Ackerman was so condescending and unprofessional in her efforts to convince me that I was wrong about what happened, that she preferred to talk over me -- for several minutes. After way too much time listening to her yell at me like I was a criminal, I felt sorry for her and tried to calm her down but she couldn't hear me. She was too determined to make a point...I guess. I have NEVER met or heard of ANY doctor who would carry on for so long, screaming at a patient. She had no intention of rectifying the situation, so I guess she won't care about this review either. Imagine all this over a $44 charge for a manipulation I never knew I received which brings me to my next complaint. When I told Dr. Hibbel that I was in dire pain and did NOT want an adjustment, I'm assuming I was tricked into one anyway because I did lie on my stomach. Two minutes and $44 later, I was now a patient against my request. Oh, and I mustn't forget to mention, I had no pain in my back. I was there only to go over my x-rays and determine if my treatment was covered by my insurance. Tell me what crazy person would agree to treatment when she explained over and over again that she absolutely has to hear from her insurance company first?!? Regardless of my level of pain, I was not moving forward w/o insurance coverage. When the doctor finally got tired of listening to herself, because she clearly wasn't concerned about me, I asked if she'd consider my sincere request to waive the fee and was told no because her computer "can't reverse the charge." She is very knowledgeable of her field and her bed side manner and compassion for one's well being sets her above and beyond her competition.
