Then an acute issue cropped up and I saught the consult of a neurologist who after review of scans, examination and history recommended PT and acupuncture. Following his advice, the first 4-5 sessions seemed to mitigate the pain some but then it became intense and limited my ability to even walk 20 ft. It was then I made some investigation into the Wellness Center in Manhattan on 234 E. 60th. It is run by Dr. Craig Fishel, D.C. They combine Chiropractic manipulation neck to complete spine as indicated by ones specific malady and PT and attempt to teach their patients principles of mind-body connection and offer an ongoing dialog of wellness. Reading materials are provided should you care to delve deeper-recommended. In under 10 sessions-most billed to my dual Medicare and supplemental, some paid by myself, I have been returned to better than I remember over the last 20 yrs. Dr Fishel and his Office manager along with a clearly skilled and concerned PT, have managed a minor miracle and I do not express this lightly. I am a life-long RN with deep understanding of anatomy. I was shown my in office x-rays which were marked up to demonstrate clearly my misalignment and what needs to be done to correct this. Follow-up x-rays will be done for comparison in short order. To date, because results were obtained and lasted through a 2 week hiatus-trip out of the country-I highly recommend this institution of wellness and honest care for wellbeing. The trio know what they are doing. Dr. Fishel has some 27 yrs of practical clinical experience. I cannot approve of him more ardently. I called the billing office and provided proof I paid these amounts but the bills still came. This keep happening with every visit. Nobody returned my calls and after trying to fix this for 3 years now it's in collections. Now what? I have to pay over $1000 from bills that I already provided proof that I paid. This is outrageous. I would not trust this office or any other Schweiger dermatologist office to record your payment correctly.

You find them on Zocdoc stating in network only for them to be Out of network once you do the consultation. If you don't have Acupuncture benefits then they will have you do Chiropractic services so that they can bill the Chiro codes while you'll receive free acupuncture services. Just be mindful if you do have Blue Cross Blue Shield they will charge you Out of network on purpose because the balance bill is higher. When I received the eligibility of benefits it stated I owed thousands of dollars. You call the office and thats when the manager Nancy tells me they don't balance bill the patient. If you are doing an Out of network service you are supposed to charge the patient upfront and then submit to the insurance. Oddly I was told because I have Blue cross Blue Shield that I will receive checks. Once I receive those checks I am to personally take it to the manager so that she can cash in on those checks for the office. I had asked to be in network when I started then saw on my insurance portal that I was being billed out of network under Chiro. I never saw the chiropractor and only did Acupuncture. Every time I would try to speak to the manager the front desk would tell me Nancy wasn't there either in person or when I would call. What type of manager calls out three times a week and why is the owner allowing this.  When I first started coming here I never had to pay a copay under the manager Veronica. How am I being billed out of network but am being charged a Copay. This place is running a fraudulent billing service. If you are charging out of network they are supposed to charge you upfront! When I went to this particular office about a year and a half ago the insurance claims were never submitted until a year later. I looked up this location on Zocdoc to see any changes and I see the Doctor added two more locations. I wonder if the owner knows he may be audited and is using the other two offices as a backup. They also try to sell you Trigger point injections I suppose because it's more money for them. He insists on 2 TPI's per week as opposed to letting a patient choose when to have the injection. I advise others to be very careful which places they choose for health services and don't be fooled by the other reviews that perhaps are simple sold a dream by these snake oil salesmen. This place is gambling on patients' pain issues.

This is an unsafe practice interested in your money rather than your health…read more It is a shame to see medical providers taking advantage of patients who can't afford to pay more. -- I am uninsured and was looking for a cheap chiropractor to alleviate pain after playing tennis. I found the Groupon and went in. Dr. Kavanaugh spent less than 5 minutes adjusting me and asking questions. His diagnosis was that it was a strained muscle. When my shoulder did not feel better after the adjustment, he said that was normal and to come in for another adjustment. I trusted him and regret it, as I experienced pain shooting down my arm afterwards. I researched and later came back in saying that I thought I had a pinched nerve upon my second visit. He agreed with my diagnosis but then gave me a full blown adjustment. In hindsight, this was incredibly dangerous. I complained that I still couldn't look right without pain after the visit was complete, but was again told to come back in for another visit. That weekend, I experienced excruciating pain and could not undress myself to get into bed. I thought I was going to puke while crying from the pain. Luckily I went to another clinic and they took an X-ray. The doctor was flabbergasted that Dr. Kavanaugh did not advise an X-ray after I presented with shooting arm pain. He displayed extremely poor medical judgement to give a full adjustment to a patient with a pinched nerve. Despite paying in advance for additional adjustments, I will never return to this clinic.
