The staff is wonderful! No complaints there. The owner Sherry Armstrong is extremely rude and combative. I signed up for services here and forgot to cancel the contract. I completely owned up and accepted responsibility for this fact. I haven't been in for treatment in 10 months. I asked if it was possible to just be refunded for this ONE month since the payment hadn't cleared yet. She went on to tell me how it's not her responsibility to manage my bills, which I never said. Also how she has too many clients to have to reach out to everyone. These companies bank on people not remembering to cancel so they just keep getting charged. I suggested that as a business owner she might set up a CRM that would send out an automated message as a reminder that the service is still active. She then told me I was yelling at her and she wasn't going to listen to it and hung up on me. As I stated to her, I wasn't yelling at all, she was just upset that I said it was bad practice to not have some kind of system in place to reach out to her customers as a courtesy reminder. If you really care about your customers you would've taken it as constructive criticism and not been so offended that I even suggested it. Furthermore you would've been more than happy to refund ONE month after I've paid for TEN with no services rendered. read more

Horrible experience today at The Joint Chiropractic in Owings Mills. We showed up before 6pm, have never been before. We would be a new patient, I had my husband and daughter with me. We are both veterans and was going to try it for the Memorial Day special they were offering for military families.The customer service was terrible. It was obvious they wanted to go home and not have any new patients even though they close at 7pm and they didn't want to do the paperwork or deal with the special that was being offered that today is the last day for. But I was recommended by the Chiropractor on duty to go to the Columbia location. Well you can forget us ever coming back, that could have been 3 new customers. What a shame. read more

This is my first visit. I heard about this business on The Housewives of Potomac (don't judge). So I came in with my new patient paperwork already completed so it cut down on my wait. My appointment was 2:00 on Saturday and they took me at 2:02. The appointment went well and Dr. A was very friendly. Due to Corona the pen you use is the pen you get to keep...forever. Dr. A talked and listened. A MONTH LATER: I haven't seen any improvements in my body but. The adjustment feels good in the moment. I enjoyed my visit here from start to finish. The receptionist, Tammy, was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. It didn't take long to complete the paperwork and I was able to get started without delay. Dr. Bambrick was awesome and he was able to identify my problem areas quickly. The worst experience. I went to this place to get evaluated and they signed me up on a monthly plan. After I went to PT a day later they suggested that I get back to normal before going to the Joint again. I called the Joint and they said that I couldn't cancel my subscription unless I go into the location and talk to the doctor to get released and that there was a minimum of 2 months required. None of this was told to me at the time of my first visit. Not to mention that I was under severe pain and they didn't ask for any of my records or xrays or back history. I was in extreme pain and they just kept cracking. Literally never going back except for when I have to in order to cancel my account. Just another service that has strings attached. If you have an active, physical, or high-impact lifestyle, you owe it to yourself to come in and get evaluated by The Joint's staff. These guys have put my ribs back in place, fixed my lower back and hips, fixed my upper back and shoulders-- all on separate occasions. I have never been to a chiropractor before, but have needed to for a long time. I am a military veteran (US Army), and should have had been seeing a chiropractor for a long while but have only just now started coming. Since I still have an active/high impact lifestyle I plan on continuing to see a chiropractor, as there is no way I could do any of these adjustments on my own. It's impossible to self adjust. I've been to at least half a dozen chiropractors within the Joint Chiropractic circle and out, in various locations along the east coast and the south. It was my first time at this Joint Chiropractic location and this is an absolute gem. The receptionist was warm, welcoming, and informed me of my waiting time kindly. After a short wait, I met Dr. Ray and we went through my current problematic areas. I laid down and he started assessing my current state and he talked me through how my legs were imbalanced and in which way. Very helpful! I love it when this happens so I can keep a mental note of what to pay attention to. He adjusted my pelvic imbalance, then tested each lumbar spine (L1-L5) to check which ones were out of alignment. All the while informing me throughout the process, then adjusted them back into position. Wow! Talk about meticulousness. Next he adjusted my thoracic and cervical spines, along with my shoulders, arms, and my extremities. Very thorough and precise, targeting exactly what is necessary. I am very pleased with the adjustments and explanations. Most importantly I feel great! Dr. Ray is hands down the best chiropractor I've ever had so far. I've fought with migraines and congestion for years. I've been to my primary care physician, urgent care, the allergist, & ENT Dr where I received prescribed daily meds and treatment to deal with but not prevent vascular migraines. Since pregnancy, my OBGyn suggested seeking out a chiropractor for permanent relief and Dr. Ray was the answer to my need. I used to have migraines that lasted for days, leading into nausea, interrupted sleep, and sometimes days off of work. this franchise is a reasonably good service provider, my issue is with the way they handle their 'membership plans,' which are a reasonably affordable way to pay for their quick visits if you know you want them. Unfortunately, they try to make it annoying to cancel it. I called the office I'd been patronizing today to request a cancellation to my monthly membership. I was informed by the attendant that my membership would not be able to be cancelled right away b/c I'd signed up for 2 months minimum - to which I responded, "OK just cancel me for as soon as possible, then, because I can't afford it." I was met with simply "I can't do that." I said 'okay, thanks,' hung up the phone and started reading through the paperwork I'd recieved from them, still buried on my desk. The paperwork said that 'Member may cancel with a written notice..If your two month minimum has not been fulfilled on the date of your cancellation request, your credit card will be charged for the second month" et cetera.. So I went to the website to look for a Cancellation form.. i looked all over the site for anything regarding cancelling membership and finally noticed in bold font on the Contact Us page "All inquiries regarding your Membership, including cancelations and freezes, must be handled at the clinic in which the membership originated. The Corporate office cannot make changes to patient memberships." Putting two and two together, reading further and seeing others complaints, including on a BBB site - I now realize I need to go into the location, request the form and sign it in person in order to cancel. Perhaps that's what the attendant on the phone meant by "I can't do that." Subscription-model businesses do tend to either rely on the "damn i forgot to cancel that" money, or - as the good ones do - make it easy to cancel, some even offer to remind you if you like. The Joint Chiropractic is a health care practitioner with this model and thats somewhat disconcerting, although i'd imagine it's working well for the franchise. High-volume shooting, as it were. They apparently fail to realize that allowing a customer to cancel their membership in a manner that is customary to the technological age we live in - i.e. hassle-free - would make it much more likely they'd convert former "discounted" membership fee-paying customers to full-price-paying occasional customers. This month you decide "i need to re-prioritize that '$80/mo for 4 visits,'" but in another month or two you may stop in and be willing and able to pay $40 for a direly needed adjustment. Personally, when i Can afford it I'd Rather pay a bit more for attention that doesn't feel quite as Rushed the way it does at The Joint. read more

I fought pain after having multiple knee surgeries for years before finally working up the courage to consider seeing a chiropractor. I researched, read reviews and did a lot of searching before finally coming across The Joint. I called to schedule an appointment and was greeted over the phone by the nicest woman, and to my surprise... they do walk-ins.. and the best part is that they are affordable and open later than most. This did make me a little hesitant, because from what I've heard most chiropractic offices are after your checkbook and if they are affordable, well they're more than likely not that great. Let me just say, I made the right decision by choosing The Joint and Dr. Ray. During my first visit, we covered a lot of ground. Questions answered, body feeling better, a list of exercises provided to me to assist with my problem areas and I was excited to come back. Dr. Ray was able to answer questions I never knew I had. The receptionist was nothing less than amazing - greeting me upon arrival and making me feel welcome. However, when I went to meet with the "doctor," that was it. I was told that "I should have filled out all of my paperwork," although I explained that I was not currently having symptoms and therefore did not respond to that section. I was also told that he was "sure that he could find something wrong." However, I opted to leave and requested my paperwork back, to which he tried to refuse. Additionally, as I was leaving, he yelled at me, "Don't come back here again." My response was, "You thought I was going to?" The "doctor" lacks professionalism, and I am sure that he can find something wrong with all of his potential clients; otherwise, he would not be in business. However, he needs to learn to think before he speaks if he wants to gain new customers and keep long term ones. read more

No appointment needed, so it might be a deal breaker for someone who are in rush, but call the front desk and pick the slow hours and they will be able to guide me. I learned my lesson so giving you heads up. And great thing is they are open 7 days. brought the first deal from Groupon for probably $29.99 for one treatment and got 3 free. And then got hooked up and took the $79/mo for 3 more. Wish they could have a deal like once a month for yearly pass as I think after the basic fix every one should do once a month to keep the structure right as an enforcement procedure. This place is trash. The doctor was wonderful, kind, and attentive; however, management and customer service are seriously lacking. The receptionist signed me up for a membership that I didn't ask for. I didn't know it was a membership until I was charged again a month later. When I came back a different receptionist had me fill out cancelation forms and told me that the manager wasn't available. She took my information for the manager to reach out to me, which she never did. I've since been charged AGAIN after filling out cancellation paperwork. When I came back AGAIN to discuss this with management I was told "The manager comes in randomly, so I don't know when she'll be in." I would have way less of an issue if in the month and a half since the original incident someone had reached out to me to try to resolve this issue, but there's been no communication or attempt to resolve the issue.
