I was desperate for some relief with some postpartum issues. I consulted with another chiropractor nearby, but when I realized the cost difference to go through insurance, I came here. Dr. Kenzie has totally changed my perception and experience of chiropractors. In a short amount of time she has significantly helped me with movement and pain management related to postpartum healing. Here's what I really enjoy: 1. She pairs adjustments with exercises that make a difference. So, yes, there is work on your end to feel better - but it seriously makes a difference. 2. She takes it appointment by appointment, rather than another place less than a mile a way that wanted to sell me 3x/week for 12 weeks and re-exams every so many visits. Instead, I have seen change going every 1-3 weeks, but can make appointments sooner if I feel the need. Her adjustments are holding well for me and the exercises are really helping. 3. She bills insurance, so the cost out of pocket (or HSA) is significantly lower. 4. Dr. Kenzie is super friendly, caring, gentle and supportive. Her staff is friendly, too. 5. She doesn't waste time. My first adjustment was same day as exam and didn't cost anything more (another place charged me $170 for exam, made me come two days before adjusting me on second visit for another fee). 6. Waiting room is comfortable.

I was having lower back pain for a few weeks and physical therapy wasn't helping, so I figured I would try this just to see. I saw Dr. Kenzie. I felt immediate relief during the first visit. I just had my third visit and my back feels immensely better -- close to pain free. I was also having neck pain and she was able to treat that without doing an adjustment (I felt nervous about that). Dr. Kenzie is very patient and really listens to what you are saying, and she tells you everything she is doing before she does it. They have a very health-focused, general approach to chiropractic medicine. It's not just an adjustment. They give you exercises and useful tips for how to improve on your own. I just realized that I've never reviewed them before and decided to rectify that right away with a Yelp review :) I used to think chiropractors only helped people who hurt their back or neck and that it was a short term thing (one or two visits). I also didn't know if it was really helpful or quackery. I now know that chiropractic care is about whole body wellness and that it really IS amazingly helpful for ongoing wellness. A number of years ago I started having severe pain in my neck and shoulder. It progressed to the point where I couldn't sleep at night without highly medicating myself and I would be awakened every morning by excruciating pain! As you can imagine, it horribly affected every area of my life. I couldn't sleep, my work was suffering, I couldn't stay in any one position for any amount of time, I couldn't sit through a work meeting at all, I was in a terrible mood all the time and snapping at people. I was desperate to get it fixed ASAP! After going to many, many appointments with my regular doctor where she checked out everything she could, I had no relief and she didn't know what was wrong with me. She prescribed me a high dose of pain reliever and sent me on my way. she also flat out told me that she did NOT recommend going to a chiropractor :( At that point, I was willing to try anything, my regular doctor couldn't help and I was not comfortable with the amount of drugs I was taking just to be able to fall asleep every night. I felt like I was in a nightmare. A friend recommended McCann Chiropractic and I went in to see them. They explained to me their philosophy on taking care of the body and ongoing wellness and honestly I was like "what is this hippy nonsense?" lol. Like I said though, I was willing to try anything to make the pain stop! I was so unbelievably grateful when they were able to get the pain to go away after just a few adjustment appointments! I had my life back! I've been seeing them for ongoing adjustments ever since and they keep me pain free :D I also no longer think their philosophy of taking care of the body is hippy nonsense ;) Dr. Pat & Dr. Kate are extremely pleasant and so are all of their staff members. First I like to say the pros: Pleasant place, and the staff were very well-behaved and kind. The cons: I was overall seriously underwhelmed by my entire chiropractic experience. For me each routine session consisted of the chiropractor cracking a few knots and maybe giving an at-home exercise. The whole ordeal would take about 5-6 minutes. Then I was laid on my stomach and was given pulse massages via a TENS unit for 10-12 minutes... And that was it. I may be expecting too much from a chiropractic session but I was already using a smaller TENS unit at home; and had family helping with casually cracking my muscle knots. Then she informed me that I should have known to tell them on my first ever appointment with a chiropractor that I didn't want to go through my insurance because they charge a client less based on this arrangement. They never discussed how much and initial consultation and respective treatment was, told me I owe nothing, and now won't work with me on the amount owed because it's not their problem.
