Dr. Zhu came in and asked me what he could do for me. Did he even read my chart? what's with the play stupid? I told him and he did a simple Thompson Test and said my tendon is ruptured. It would be 6-8 weeks in a boot and then maybe PT. MRI? nope. I am older and I understand the risks of surgery and he would not do that. I'm OK with that. It was basically, I'm wasting his time. He could be making more money if someone would come in for surgery. I finally got an MRI from outside OAW and guess what? it wasn't ruptured. There was a tear and I did have to wear a boot. But, everything was intact and not a detachment. I saw an Ortho doc that cared, explained everything very well, and prescribed a PT plan that put me on a path to healing. I do not recommend seeing Dr. Zhu.

I explained the situation and all she said was "you are not in our system and the Dr is in surgery all day" Well thats all fine and good, but I made the appointment online and that was the time it offered me... They are completely unlike my last doctor who threw pills at me and charged me way over cost for drug tests at every visit. I am more than an insurance claim or dollar signs, they seem to give a damn. They listen and have used so many tools to get me more comfortable. I have been sent to a wonderful physical therapist who gave me exercises to stretch and strengthen. On occasion I have had epidural injections in their office, or at another location. When I get a flair up they do trigger point injections to help me get off my couch and into work. When my insurance decides to be jerks and denies medication or requires prior authorization for something I've already been taking, they hop on the phone and take care of it. In two word they have been - LIFE CHANGING!

Limping along the sidewalk, I found Andy's tent and asked for a consultation. Andy went above and beyond -- immediately identifying that the injured knee could be the victim of a tight hamstring and a previous foot injury. He did manual work on my foot and hamstring for 30+ minutes to relieve the pain and pressure. He pointed out how I could identify fluid build up in my knee, referred me to someone in my area (not local to WI), and gave me some helpful tips on treatments that might be useful in the future.
