I have been following Shop Local Kentucky on Instagram for years now, and have even bought an item or two here that I love. Once I finally found myself right by their shop, it was an obligation to go in and check it out for myself. It's small, but this is an awesome place to go for some fun and whitty Kentucky merch. I always love seeing what funny quotes they'll put on their T shirts next, or what new designs will have me pulling out my wallet. The pricing for their clothing is not too bad. I've had a T shirt that's lasted me about 3 years now, and it is still in great condition! Tourist or local, this is a great place to share your Bluegrass pride. read more

I love this store! They have great KY themed shirts and there are constantly new styles being released. I visited recently to pick up a KY Thanksgiving shirt and ended up buying a Christmas one also. A few times each year they will run some good sales. They offered 30% off on Black Friday and also for Cyber Monday. If you are really lucky, you'll catch one of their $10 tables and can grab cute shirts for cheap! Be sure to sign up for their email list so you get notified of their sales and new shirts. The only drawback (besides the fact that I spend a ton of money here) is it is sometimes difficult to find a parking place as there is only street parking. read more

Very nice Kentucky wares. However, I had the most difficult time returning a shirt with a tag still on it. I purchased the shirt in-store and asked for a paper receipt, but the machine was broken and was required to resort to a text receipt. As most know, getting text receipts through Square are difficult to keep track of, with many different merchant receipts looking similar in a text message form. I had got the wrong size, so I returned the shirt today. I was asked for a receipt, but mentioned that the machine had been broken previously. I surely hoped they would not expect me to show a text message receipt from two weeks ago. I was told I may not be able to return the item even though it was not worn and with tag. Eventually the cashier had to call the warehouse and lookup my order via my credit card number. This was timely and frustrating. To make matters worse, the cashier was quite unfriendly and rather unpleasant during the entire experience. This is not the first time I had this feeling, but figured I'd give fair grace the first time hoping it was a bad day. She made it seem as if it was my fault for not having a receipt, despite the receipt printer being broken at time of purchase. No sympathy, smiles or apologies were granted. Update: Received a comment from the owner so I'll bump it up a star. Thanks Rick read more

LOVE this shop. They are honest, hard working people from our community that work exceptionally hard to give back to KY whenever they can. I'm a teacher and my sister is a nurse and both of our careers have been recognized by SLK both in charity and shirt form. The new shop is way larger and prettier than the other old location (just 2 doors down). They do now carry children's sizes, but all I found was babies up to size 6 (which is a hummer because I needed a 10). This time I didn't have any interaction with the employees: just walked in, browsed the entire store for a bit and then left. I just feel like with a small business greeting customers & making them feel welcomed should be #1 priority. read more

Great selection of unique Kentucky t-shirts. 99% t-shirts but also hats and a few smaller gifts. But the t-shirts are super soft and run to size. I had a nice interaction with the cashier. Friendly but not intrusive which you never want in a small store. Great stuff! read more
