    Painted Glasses

We had never painted pottery before and the store associate was so helpful and explained everything very clearly! We painted two glasses that we plan to put on our future bar cart. It was the perfect date!

Had a great time at The Kiln! We did the beginners pottery class. They were very patient with us and explained the steps well. We opted to pay extra to do the mugs and it was worth it. We will be back!

My family and I went to The Kiln on July 11 and were really excited. We had enjoyed our time spent there. I chose a sunflower plate and spent 2 sessions painting it. Our entire family had a great time. When it came time to pick up my finished product, there was a little confusion about the whereabouts of my item. However, my item was eventually found and it turned out beautifully.

    Beginner's throwing $35/person

I enjoyed my time at The Kiln! It's located on the street perpendicular to the fancy Burntwood. There's a private large parking lot right outside so you can walk right on in. Some of the big positives for me are: -Great, easy to understand, clean and informative website -Knowledgeable and kind staff -Fun way to spend a rainy day -Awesome handmade memory!! Negative: -Little pricey for an activity for a family of 4 (not necessarily a negative of The Kiln, just of the activity itself!) For my birthday, my family and I scheduled a "Beginner's Throwing Class" for all of us for $35 a person. The other activities offered here range from just picking and painting your choice of any of their premade ceramics (super cool Marvel characters, animals, plates, soap dishes, etc!!), or something called glass fusion where you can picked out colored glass pieces and melt them into a suncatcher or dish. I think they also have open studio times but check their website for specifics. For our beginners throwing class, there are 4 pottery wheels in the studio. It was super easy to call and schedule a time to come in. I was called the day before by the staff with info on what to wear, to tie my hair back, etc. We were given aprons and a block of clay and taught how to throw a bowl on the wheel! Fox, the staff member helping us was knowledgeable taught us how to throw, and helped us make the best bowls we could! Throwing didn't take long at all, maybe 30-40 minutes from when we sat down at the wheel. Then, after making our bowls, we painted them. The pieces are ready and fired after 2 weeks. I haven't picked my pieces up yet, but they update their Facebook with the photos of what came out of the kiln. All in all, I had a blast with my family and would recommend this activity on a rainy day if you have a couple hours and the money. They also take school field trips!

We had just moved into our first apartment and needed coasters, so we did the glass fusion to make our own.

My daughter and I had a wonderful time today it was our first time there. My only minor complaint…read moreis I tipped 20% because the prompt came up and I felt awkward not doing it, so we spent about $85 for 2 regular size ceramics and 1 mini one. The tip ONLY bothered me because at the end we were the only ones in there and we had about 7 paint bottles on the table, the ladies were standing around talking (totally fine like I said no one else was in there) but the last table that left had all their paint on their table still. So when I asked do we just leave? She said can you put your paints away. It's totally fine except for the fact that like, it took us a long time to find the proper spots, they weren't doing anything and she knew we were in a time crunch, I just feel like if im going to tip $11 maybe they should have put our paints away for us? Not being lazy it just seems it would have been much faster and helpful for them to do it since we were the only ones in there. Anyway. I don't want to come off rude, everyone was very nice, I just don't understand tip culture these days where we are tipping for something that we do all the work for lol (I was a bartender for 18 years so I always tip)

Lots to do, they offer regular canvas painting, ceramic painting, pottery wheel, and glass work…read more The staff is pleasant and helpful. They walk you through the process and lay of the land. If you have been in before they are good about taking a more hands off approach. The selection of pottery to paint has decreased in variety I believe due to the other activities. They offer a party room, which could be a really fun family outing or child's party. I have only done the pottery painting but am considering the couples wheel class. Check their website for different classes offered. The price may seem high but considering all that is included, I really don't find it unreasonable.
