Wow! Unfortunate that I didn't come into this shop sooner. I usually go to Almost Paradise for hookah supplies, but I think Konnexion might be my new go to. The selection is about the same (for hookah things), but the staff is awesome and super helpful which is why I think Konnexion is a million times better! Came in looking for shisha and the guy working gave us some AWESOME suggestions for mixes. Brand wise they carry Fantasia, Starbuzz, Al Fakher and a couple of other brands. They carry some of the more unique Starbuzz flavors as well which I really appreciate. We picked up two 50g boxes of Al Fakher, 250g of Starbuzz, and a couple of Coco Naras. He said they were running low on Starbuzz when we went, so I'm not sure if they only sell the 250g tins? If that's the case, I wish they would carry 100g tins as well, but it's a pretty minor complaint. Biggest plus about this place? It's nice to see someone who is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the products they sell. REALLY convenient location close to campus and amazing service! I'll definitely be back! read more

I could not ask more from a tobacco shop. The man up front was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. His recommendations were spot on for my taste in shisha, and I really appreciated that. The whole place has a very nice family atmosphere (as well as you can get for a head shop), with the owner and (presumably) his girlfriend or wife in the back. Really great vibe from them. They also keep their boxer, bulldogs and boston terrier in the store. This was a huge plus for me, because I adore dogs. I will be back for the atmosphere and competitive prices. read more

I have been in there twice for my ecig / vaporizer supplies. It is the only place I have found that carries any sort of real options and supplies for us vapers in the Iowa City area (PM me if I'm missing something.) They have a nice selection of juice, atomizers and cartomizers. The Lotus Tobacco Red is a decent hit and the Traditional Tobacco is my new favorite. I loved this great little shop until today. My friends wanted to stop in while we were out getting lunch, I left my I.D. in the car blocks away so I waited, rather than walk to my car for my I.D. and come back in time for them to be done. I am 30 but I totally understand they have to run a tight ship to stay out of legal trouble with stings. The guy working the front room was on his laptop the whole time while I waited. I seemed to bother him anytime I asked a question or engaged him in conversation to cure my boredom. I didn't have my I.D. but that didn't mean that I didn't have money...I was still a customer. I was looking for a water in the cooler and the shapes reminded me of the cleaning solutions that I know are sold in the other room so I look over to my friend who was checking out and I say, "don't forget to get cleaning solution" and the clerk in the front room perks up from lack of customer support laptop land and tells me I can't be telling him that. I was like, I did't say anything bad, I felt that I definitely had the freedom of speech to say cleaning solution and he told me to leave. I had sworn off The Den and have been referring all of my friends here but I don't feel comfortable doing this anymore. I was telling my friend in legal words through an open doorway to buy more of your merchandise and I got myself booted! On a positive side...Ghetto Vader, We listened to your demo cd on the car ride back and we'll probably break it out again later and have a fun reflectiing on this day. read more

I am not a regular smoke shop shopper and do not know all of the rules and regulations of a smoke shop, so after Konnexion gave me the wrong filter for my vape pen and tried to tell me it was the right one, i pulled out my vape pen and showed her it did not fit. Now I know that that is not allowed and once she told me "to get it the fuck out" I did not even argue and took it straight to my car. When I came back I told her I did not appreciate her swearing at me and I did not know the rules and instead of apologizing she only continued to chastise me. They are too overpriced for the OWNER to treat a customer so terrible especially after paying $130 for a vape pen that she could not even give me the correct piece for. If you need a smoke shop, go down the street to The Den at 123 East Washington Street, Iowa City, IA 52240 or Almost Paradise at 355 South Linn Street, Iowa City, IA 52240. They have better prices and there owners and employees are helpful rather than chastising. read more

While they do have a wide selection of products, most of them being over-priced, the store has some RUDE employees. Not all of them are rude and obnoxious but I know of at least one employee who does NOT understand the concept of customer service what.so.ever. read more
