We arrived prior to our reservation, so we sat at the bar while waiting and frankly that was the best part until a bartender stuck a glass into the ice well and broke said glass, then picked some ice and presumably broken glass out. I can say that after watching Bar Rescue since season one I was at a code red upon witnessing that, but my husband that works in food/bev service who abides by the protocols for said circumstance was horrified and literally stopped getting anything that required ice after seeing they didn't empty the ice well and clean it out before replacing glassy-icy with fresh ice. Then we were taken to our table and encountered our poor waitress, Tiff. She had tables in sections so far away from us--separately partitioned sections but also a separate room. Service was horrible, but she was spread so that thin it was clearly an owner/manager problem (as the other two waitresses we saw were never in the other sections, yet she was at close to a run between the three). Sky Club could have at least had bussers clearing the courses, but instead our table was a wasteland of glasses, bowls, app plates and main course plates. And I'd be embarrassed to claim my place had the first salad bar in the US if it was a disaster of mayhem regarding both order and produce. It's only a salad bar, no soup, yet plates were around the entirety of the baby salad bar. People kept grabbing one of the myriads of stacked plates and cutting in at nonsensical points. There were spoiled grape tomatoes and broccoli heads, huge partial heads of lettuce, yet no cottage cheese??? The beef stroganoff had overcooked pasta, the beef and mushrooms were indistinguishable from one another, and there was not enough "gravy" (that's what their menu called it). Prime rib was gray and bland. Shrimp was bland. Salmon was bland. Mac & cheese was dry and bland. There were five of us, and the only thing that was truly enjoyed at any point was the French onion soup. We wanted to order more drinks and planned on having dessert, but due to how thin management spread Tiff, we basically prayed to baby Jesus just to get our bill. Shame on the owners/management! She was literally running, while older waitresses with a handful of tables were lounging. Teach the old ones to buss tables. This is not a good look for Sky Club. Not only did you lose money on food & drinks with mismanagement, but out of all the supper clubs in the state, we never want or plan to return again.

Family staffed, our group felt welcomed and well taken care of during our visit. Food was really good. Portion sizes of appetizers were a little small but the portion sizes of the actual meals were appropriate. The fish was very tasty as was the coleslaw and potato salad. Everyone in our group ended up with take home boxes of their actual meals. Dessert was also very good. Definitely consider making a trip out to Kellner to try their food and full bar. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I requested the tartar sauce be substituted with cocktail sauce and my wife requested mayo on her burger. The burger and fish were good as was the service. However we were surprised to see a charge of $2.00 for the cocktail sauce and $1.00 for the mayo for the burger. We went on line and found other people sharing there experiences with up charges they too found on their bill. Some shared surprise at being up charges for butter for baked fish, sour cream for a baked potato, cocktail sauce and tartar sauce too. I found it both sad and humorous that the charge for cocktail sauce and tartar sauce both were $2.00. So, doing the math my request for the substitute should have come out even. While I do understand there can be additional charges, not letting the customer know ahead of time seems to be deceptive. So while the food at Club Forest was still good, the undisclosed additional charges left a bad taste in our mouths.

Our whole table loved each of the dishes we got - broiled version of Friday fish fry with really good potato salad, and awesome salads (both the Ahi Tuna and chicken raspberry walnut). All the ingredients were fresh and presented well too. Be prepared for picnic style paper plates...definitely unique but certainly didn't take away from how good the food is or quantities of food. We think it was the owner who seated us, took our orders, and helped me navigate my gluten free needs. He checked on us a few times and seemed genuinely thankful to have us as customers. The place was packed, and he was working just as hard if not harder than any one of his employees. Wow, what a great display of leadership. We will be back for sure. Both were very tasty, though I was a bit surprised at the small size of the fish pieces. With the other sides my appetite was quenched.
