I found Skye online and went in for a refill. They checked my lashes to see if my New York provider was applying in a similar way. Was happy they were able to work with my current lashes, eliminating the need to remove my current application. My refill took an hour and a half which is a bit longer than I'm used to but the end result was lovely. They stayed on about the same amount of time as my other providers applications have. The technician and friendly and was good at communicating with me around my comfort. I actually had to immediately leave town after for a month so I got a touch up out of town. The person who did my touch up commented on how nicely done my application from Skye was, no overuse of glue, neatly applied. Looking forward to going back when I return home! The only cons i have is the space is relatively cluttered and small but they are going through some restructuring i believe. The location is slightly hard to find, and the initially paperwork is a bit overwhelming and can be alarming to some who are not familiar with lash extensions. We did a little research, read some reviews, and then bought a Groupon to try out Absolute. The long and short? We do not regret the choice at all. We went to the salon as a walk-in. We were greeted and taken back immediately. The owner, Arati, is friendly and efficient. Watching her thread is fascinating, truly. She also gave me info about an upcoming closing of the salon for her vacation so that we could prepare accordingly, and I appreciate that level of detail. She did an amazing job; Emma's eyebrows look fabulous. Emma did say the pain was more than she expected, considering what she was told by friends...but that's the process, not the technician. Next time it won't be as painful because she will have less hair! Upon arrival, Patience greeted me in her adorable studio that is a plant mamas dream. Her space is very clean and pandemic friendly so I didn't feel nervous at all with my time there. She is very thorough with her explanations and put me at ease about the procedure as I was very nervous. My pain tolerance is extremely low and she ensured me I'd do great! She numbed me up and we chatted about my desired look for my brows and we decided on doing a combination brow which means a combination between nano & shading. I won't lie, I definitely felt the nano part more than the shading. But I would 100% do it again. The discomfort is tolerable and so worth it for the end result. You forget any pain as soon as you see your brows finished. There was essentially no pain to the shading part. So the overall experience was honestly very good and completely tolerable.
