She ensures everything is sanitized in her office before each client is seated in her/the chair she uses. It's beyond clean. You can just "feel" it. I work in the medical field and I know what "clean" is. I can't even begin to explain to y'all just how amazing of a person and how clean and nice her business is. She's fast and efficient with her clients. She gives and provides the time. She doesn't rush and does a thorough job with each client. My daughter really wanted to try eyebrow threading, having heard that it is fast, accurate, and less painful and damaging to the skin than waxing. We did a little research, read some reviews, and then bought a Groupon to try out Absolute. The long and short? We do not regret the choice at all. We went to the salon as a walk-in. We were greeted and taken back immediately. The owner, Arati, is friendly and efficient. Watching her thread is fascinating, truly. She also gave me info about an upcoming closing of the salon for her vacation so that we could prepare accordingly, and I appreciate that level of detail. She did an amazing job; Emma's eyebrows look fabulous. Emma did say the pain was more than she expected, considering what she was told by friends...but that's the process, not the technician. Next time it won't be as painful because she will have less hair! It is definitely less damaging than waxing (after all, it doesn't remove layers of skin), and her recovery (after normal swelling and redness) was very fast. We will return for follow ups! read more

I came here on a rainy Monday afternoon as i came across a Groupon for this place. So I called before purchasing and was told I can come in within the next half hour. I'm so glad I did, I was able to get a great review from another customer whom just had her lashes done and she was overly satisfied. I didn't get a chance to catch the name of my eyebrow threaded but she did a wonderful job on my eyebrows and I am very satisfied. I encourage everyone that likes eyebrow threading to give this small business owner a chance versus waiting forever at the malls. She does an excellent job! The owner did a fabulous job on my eyebrows! I was desperate to find someone to do my brows post-quarantine as I had not touched them in months & Absolute Skin Salon did not let me down. I called to make sure they were open and she is coming in on a limited basis for now as the building is under construction following a fire, but she got me in right away and did a great job. I am very picky about my eyebrows and she did not make them too thin and she gave me a great shape! Not only that but it was only $10! What a steal! I will definitely be back. I have been going here a while now to get my eyebrows threaded. Everyone either loves or hates this experience. It has its pros and cons as does waxing. While it is not comfortable, it is tolerable for me. Waxing was slightly less tolerable for me. Others find threading the worst pain ever! Arati was a little quiet and unfriendly when I first started coming in but now she remembers me and is much more friendly. It costs $10 for the service (not bad)! I usually have to pluck a few strays that I find when I go back to my car and check it out. She does other services here but appears to do threading the most. I would recommend this place to others. There are Groupon offers for 1st time customers on the Groupon website but knocks the price down even more. :) read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE CONSIDERING GETTING EYELASHES HERE: I was told by another lash professional who looked at the lashes Arati did for me, that she applies them incorrectly and is very unsafe. She advised to me that I could have gotten severe infections in my eyes and that my natural lashes are completely damaged now. This completely infuriates me. Arati glues your actual lash line and dangerously close to your eyes, when it is only supposed to go on the false lash itself. On a serious note, she does not know what she's doing and her practice for lashes is very unsafe. And then on another note.. Every single time I come, Arati asks me to wait 30 min-1hr later to start my appointment, every time 5 minutes before my appointment starts. Then my appointment takes an extra hour long due to all of the walk ins she assists. After being out of town for a week, I had one day (today) that I was able to come in and get my lashes filled for a very important wedding event In Texas tomorrow. I put detailed notes in my appointment that I HAD to be at work at 12:30 and had from 10:30 am -11:50 am to get my lashes done. I also put to notify me if she cannot do this so I could go elsewhere for my appointment. Get there right at 10:30. Door is locked, and get a call from Arati saying "Oops, sorry! I just woke up! Can you wait 15 minutes?" This is absolutely ridiculous and completely unprofessional. I waited 30 MINUTES, and drove off and left. When she called back, I let her know I do not have time to wait around and that I will not be coming back. Now I have to take the time out of my trip to Texas to get my lashes done down there. Not happy at all. ALL THREE TIMES I have had horrible experiences here. I'm warning you now, STAY AWAY from this place. read more

My lashes start falling off day 2, chunks of it. DO NOT GO HERE. I got mink eyelash extensions at this salon right before my bachelorette party get-away in Cancun. It was a last minute decision since another salon I got a Groupon for was not available. What a horrible decision, everything was wrong right from the beginning. The salon was completely empty when I showed up at 6pm on a Friday, upon my entrance the owner lady glanced at me and continued chatting on her cellphone in a foreign language. Finally she was off the phone and said that she was suppose to go meet up with some friends for an Indian festival if not for my reservation, right there I felt like a I was a bother. Then, she had me sit in a chair(the kind for haircuts) for over an hour with my neck raised. There was no pillow to rest my head on or a bed to lay down. My neck and back were hurting so bad by the time my lashes were done I could've used a massage. At one point, my upper and lower lashes got stuck together since it was not properly taped, she tried so hard to set them apart I was tearing up uncontrollably. I'm pretty sure she ended up cutting off my natural lashes to get them apart. This place is a nightmare! read more

I have enjoyed going to this salon. I have enjoyed the calm atmosphere and the personal attention I have gotten. I was really nervous about going to a spa to get my facial hair removed, as I have not had luck other places. This is the first place I've been where I have successfully had my facial hair taken care of, and it is wonderful! I also love the convenient online scheduling they offer. I know some people prefer to call, and you can, but I like the flexibility of being able to schedule online. And I like the honesty in the services. I was new to eyebrow threading, and Arati did an amazing job making me feel at ease during the process! It was a lot quicker than I expected. I loved the results. In my first visit I also had my first bikini wax, and I was beyond nervous but Arati did an amazing job making me feel comfortable and was so social, and friendly it made the experience a lot less stressful as I was making it! I made an appointment online, pretty easy, and clear. I booked an appointment for eyelash extensions (my first time getting this done). I showed up to my appointment early, all was well, everything was on time, before we began the eyelash extensions, she offered to clean up my eyebrows (threading) which I agreed to. We then began the extension process. (Keep in mind, I had done plenty of research regarding eyelash extensions, after-care, what to expect during, etc. the appointment last about 30 max, nothing more, which I found is unusual considering eyelash extensions can take up to about 3 hours. The process itself was fairly relaxing and I had no problem with, the woman doing the extensions made me feel very comfortable during the appointment, which I appreciated. When it was time to finally open my eyes and look at the result, I was in a little bit of shock. The lashes were VERY dark, and clumpy. The darkness I had expected, but the clumpy/unnatural look was not what I had been expecting. While I felt no pain or burning during or after, I can't complain about that. But I was extremely disappointed with the result. I actually had to pull the lashes off within about 4 hours of getting them. I would not recommend Absolute Skin Salon for eyelash extensions. The result with be unnatural and disappointing. I will not be going back. read more

It was hard finding a place in Louisville that excels at threading. Most places only do waxing, which not only hurts but leaves bad lines! I've been coming here for about a year and will not go anywhere else for my threading needs! Arati is extremely efficient and pays such close attention to detail. I booked my appointment online with Arati, it was my first time using this salon. I let them know in the comments that I had extensions and wanted them cut and curled/styled. She was very nice and did a pretty nice job on the cut, however I had a problem with the styling. She asked me which curling iron I wanted her to use, and I chose a big barrel iron. So she took a piece of the hair and wrapped it around and deemed that the hair wouldn't curl. This was simply not true because I curl the hair at home and it always looks nice and holds a curl. She then told me she would flat iron it. What made me a little upset was that she kept making it known that she loved straight hair, which lead me to believe that she just didn't want to curl my hair. I booked the appointment because I didn't feel like curling my hair and wanted to have someone else do it. I'm not sure if I will go back for a hair service, but I think I would be willing to try maybe a waxing service. read more

I've been getting my lashes done here for a while and I've always had a great experience. Arati is very nice and takes the time to do the lash service the proper way. I had gone to a different salon before to get my lashes done and it was a complete disaster. My lashes were in clumps of hair bonding glue!! Arati removed all of them for me and applied lashes the right way and they look amazing and natural. I never have to wear mascara and I get compliments frequently. Highly recommend. read more

This place is an absolute joke!!! since this place is close to where I live, I thought I would try their facial. I arrived on time but, there was no one at reception. They have a huge room with all salon chairs empty and no one at reception to take care of. I felt it was weird since it was a Saturday afternoon and I expected the salons/ spa to be very busy compared to a weekday. I called out if some one was there and with no response I decided to wait for sometime. I heard two ladies speaking in the back room which I think was the spa room. After like 10 minutes, there was another lady customer who walked in. With the noise with which she came, one of the ladies from spa room walked out. She stared blankly at both of us and went back silently to call the person in charge. Then came the actual person with whom I had my appointment for facial - Arti is her name. She already knew the woman who came after me and I understood that the woman wanted to get her service done quickly. She went to check her schedule and then realized that she had a facial appointment 20 minutes ago with me. She then looked at me and asked if its ok to attend her's first. I was furious by then and she probably realized it by then and asked her to come after two hours. The lady customer then left and Arti went back into the spa room silently with a smile not even caring to intimate me the time it's going to take . I thought that was it and left the place. Too bad I have nothing to write about actual facial stuff since I never got a chance. Never going back to this place .... Save your time else where. read more
