Not even flush toilets - it's outhouse-latrine time! SETUP Fountain Bay is a ranch-work in progress, as we cultivate the surrounding land, work with the livestock, and build a house along the St. Joe river. But that means we get dirty & grimy (& smelly & stinky), and in desperate need of cleaning our clothes. For ourselves, Uncle Gary, Cousin Dale and myself have no problem jumping in the pristine (but FRIGID..*Brrrr!*) St. Joe river and clean ourselves in river-water. However, cleaning clothes requires some more cleaning effort (and drying effort if you don't want your clothes to stay damp). RIVERBEND LAUNDRY This is when we pack up the truck with our (considerable) dirty laundry, our wifi'ing laptops, some drinks & munchies, and make a couple-hour geek fest with the whole laundry experience by heading to Riverbend Laundry. With a multitude of washers, and dryers, and vending machines full of laundry detergents, and softeners, and other food & drink vending machines, we really have all we need to keep up happy. We only wish there were more outlets since we have to position ourselves in some rather awkward ways over laundry tables to do some wifi'ing. But then again, I don't think that was part of the original business plan when this establishment started some years ago either. THE LOWDOWN A great place to do our laundry and then some!

The ones that do work are inconsistent in the timer. The dryers work fine. There is no restroom which is VERY inconvenient. The Moscow laundromat is a bit further and is a quarter more to wash, but there is always an attendant walking around and it is clean. They have a nice sitting area, a restroom, and a place for kids to play.

I was told after I put all my soap, money, and clothes in that it was out of order. If they already knew that, I could've saved my time and money with a simple sign. Help was not provided and it was a frustrating experience. The employee Elly could have done something to help. Plus, the sign was still not put up by the time I left. It was ridiculous.

I asked the attendant who put it in there . She replied " I did" . I came back 5 mins later and asked for a refund because she put that in there without asking and I paid for the service not her. She refused to give me the refund which was $18 She also said she didn't know who did it even though 5 mins ago she said did it. I asked to see camera footage and she looked at me like a deer in the headlights . I will be calling the owner of the mat and asking for a refund for the poor, RUDE, and disgusting service .

Dryers may turn but not all actually dry your clothes. Be sure and try your dryer with a quarter first. Seems basically clean inside. Various height tables for folding. The upholstered chairs are heavily stained. One look and you'll head for the vinyl bench. Fried chicken place next door and espresso across the street.

Libby showed me how to put money on the card, helped me find machines for my laundry, and helped me get them started. Even though they are working on laundry orders behind the counter, they come out often to help people and sweep, etc. They are always accessible and happy to help customers. The place is very clean and they have everything you might need: restroom, vending machine, etc. Although going to the laundromat is not my favorite thing to do, I feel comfortable and know everything will go well when I go here.
