As any parent seeking the best education for my child, I can confidently say that this Montessori school surpassed all expectations. From the moment we stepped into the building, it was evident that this institution had crafted an exceptional environment tailored to foster children's growth and development. We came to Sugarcreek after a bad experience with another school. Our daughter bloomed under the teaching & admin staff's care! There are so many wonderful things about this Montessori but a few highlights below. Key highlights: 1. Teaching staff: Ms. Arzu and Ms. Tatiana from T2 are truly exceptional educators. They treat every child as if they were their own, and their dedication is unparalleled. Ms. Arzu, with her years of experience, has a remarkable ability to bring out the best in kids. She is attentive, caring, and firm, all at the same time. Under her guidance, my daughter is now potty trained and even started eating well, resulting in significant weight gain. As for Ms. Tatiana, she is a beacon of positivity. She is so very kind, and positive. Despite no longer attending this school, my daughter continues to adore her, and she talks about Ms. Tatiana every single day. 2. Admin: Rebecca, Sofia, and Lydia are truly exceptional individuals. From the very beginning, they embraced us like family, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where we felt comfortable approaching them with anything at any time. Rebecca's influence on this school is nothing short of remarkable. We now recognize the vital role a strong director plays in shaping the success of an educational institution, and Rebecca embodies this role flawlessly. She is a true rockstar in every sense. Sofia's proficiency in school policies, protocols, and any important dates/events you name it is impressive. Her wealth of knowledge and extensive experience in childcare were readily apparent, and she was always delighted to share valuable tips and tricks with us. Sofiya is an indispensable asset to the team. Lydia completes this rockstar trio with her unwavering dedication and support. She consistently goes the extra mile to ensure that every aspect of the school runs smoothly. Together, Rebecca, Sofia, and Lydia form an outstanding team that elevates the school to new heights. 3. Learning and Development: Each classroom is thoughtfully designed to cater to different age groups, promoting independent exploration and hands-on learning. The use of natural materials, child-sized furniture, practical skills taught and so much more further fosters a sense of ownership and responsibility, empowering the children to take charge of their learning journey. It's incredible to see my daughter carrying out daily tasks and chores with full independence at the age of three. I also appreciated the commitment to a well-rounded education. Besides the academic, the school offers an array of enriching activities like art, music, dance, and yoga allowing children to explore their interests and talents freely. My daughter now teaches me yoga! 4. Friends and Student Body: We firmly believe that having the right friends and a diverse student body has had a tremendous impact on our daughter. The school is home to some of the most kind-hearted, innocent, and genuinely sweet children, all hailing from loving households. Moreover, the student body represents a rich tapestry of diversity. A few weeks after attending the school, our daughter surprised us by expressing her desire to visit India and her knowledge about the country astonished us, considering her young age. This incident highlighted the positive influence of her interactions with peers from various backgrounds and how it sparked her curiosity and interest in the wider world. I've exceeded my word limit in writing this review and I still have many more incredible things to share. Send your child to this school, you will not regret it.

An infant in a new environment needs care, reassurance, and attention--not to be ignored and forced to "cry it out." That alone was disturbing. The Cuban lady and the Ms Vivi in the infant room are horrible. What's even worse is the clear neglect. My child was left in a wet and dirty diaper for over THREE HOURS, which resulted in a diaper rash. That is not just careless--it is neglect. No licensed daycare should ever allow this to happen. This kind of behavior is something that should be reported to the proper authorities. On top of the poor care, the management is dishonest. (Owner and director Arlene) I was charged $150 for a registration fee after being told it would be waived. They later promised a refund, but of course, it was never returned. We only attended for one and a half days, yet they still kept the money. Between the neglect, lack of basic infant care, and outright lying about fees, this place has shown it CANNOT be trusted. I would NEVER recommend this daycare to any parent. If you care about your child's safety, comfort, and well-being, stay far away!!

We couldn't have made a better choice. As a family, we witnessed firsthand the immense benefits of Montessori education, and especially attending the MHFC. The teachers are highly qualified, and the entire staff is caring and welcoming. The Montessori experience instilled in our daughter a profound appreciation for the value of education. The learning habits she formed at MHFC made her successful and middle school and now in high school. Beyond academics, she gained exposure to different cultures, learned to respect and accept diverse opinions, and build friendships that will last a lifetime. Even after leaving MHFC, our daughter continued to stay connected. During school vacations, she returned to visit and help which classroom chores. Now in high school, she volunteers at MHFC, an opportunity the school gladly offered. This encouragement for alumni involvement reflects on the school's deep care for its students, long after they graduate. MHFC has had a tremendous impact on our lives, and we will be forever grateful to all the teachers and staff who make the school such a special place.

When I reached out to inquire about tuition--just to see if it was even within our budget--I was told that information was only available in person. As someone with a disability, that's a significant barrier. Attending a meeting in person takes a lot of energy and planning, and I didn't feel it was worth going through all of that just to find out if the school was even financially accessible. Accessibility matters deeply to our family, and I expected more flexibility and understanding. After several emails and phone calls with their administrative staff, I honestly felt like I was an inconvenience. The tone was dismissive and a bit snooty, which was disappointing. These aren't the values I'm looking for in a school community. I'm sharing this in case others--especially those with accessibility concerns--find this kind of approach to be a dealbreaker too.

Our daughter disclosed an incident involving inappropriate touching by another student. When we brought the matter to the school's attention, we expected an immediate and thorough investigation. Instead, more than a week passed with little meaningful action, despite multiple follow-up emails from us requesting answers. By the time the school began looking into the matter, we were informed that any potentially relevant video footage had already been deleted because the camera system only retains recordings for approximately one week. We were then told that, without video evidence, the school was relying on the accounts of staff members rather than our daughter's disclosure. What has been most heartbreaking is the impact this has had on our daughter. Prior to this incident, she loved attending school. Since disclosing what happened, she has expressed that she feels uncomfortable and does not want to return. As parents, watching that change has been devastating. We understand that schools cannot prevent every incident that may occur between children. However, we believe parents have a right to expect prompt communication, timely investigations, preservation of available evidence, and a response that takes a child's concerns seriously. Every parent must make their own decision, but based on our experience, we felt it was necessary to immediately withdraw our children from the school for their well-being and peace of mind. We hope the school takes this opportunity to review its procedures regarding incident reporting, investigations, parent communication, and video retention so that no other family has to experience what ours has gone through. EDIT TO ADD: After everything that happened, I later learned that the director was no longer at the school, approximately a month or two after I reported our situation to the state. The school was also fined following the state's involvement. Because our primary concern throughout this entire situation was how the director handled what happened to our daughter, I reached back out to the school after learning she was no longer there to see if our boys could possibly return. The school had us bring our son in, tested him for placement into the Bridge Program, introduced him to his teachers, and allowed him to get excited about returning to a school he had previously loved. Then, later that SAME DAY, we received an email stating that because of the situation involving our daughter a few months prior, they felt it was best that our family not return. As a parent, this was incredibly upsetting. We advocated for our daughter when she told us she had been touched inappropriately, reported our concerns through the appropriate channels, and now our other children are being denied the opportunity to return because of that same situation. From our perspective, it feels like our family is being punished for advocating for our daughter and demanding that what happened to her be taken seriously. The way everything has been handled has also left me with serious concerns about what the school is trying to avoid or distance itself from. Even more concerning, after I made an anonymous Facebook post discussing our experience with the school, several people responded with concerning stories of their own. One anonymous commenter stated that her husband is a police officer and had been called to this same school a couple of years ago for a very similar situation. I cannot personally verify the details of that incident, so I want to be clear that I am sharing what was reported to me, not presenting it as something I witnessed firsthand. At this point, there have simply been too many red flags for me to stay quiet. I strongly encourage parents considering this school to do their own research, ask difficult questions about how incidents involving children are documented, investigated, and communicated to parents, and think very carefully before deciding whether this is where they want to send their children.
