I really enjoyed this daycare for a long time! They were great when it came to updates regarding my child/ child's classroom. They have recently changed their director and things have went downhill since. My son's health has declined from lack of cleanliness and the updates have become zero to none. Great admin stuff and teachers. clean and safe day care to keep your child. i love the fact that there's always activities that involves parents, grandparents and other family members. all holidays are recognized and veterans are recognized and appreciated. Dawn the director is the best ive ever seen and Karen in class 2 is the most loving teacher. all teachers are great here. I recently received an email asking for our input about our childcare facility (been there for 7 years and have received plenty of these). We have had numerous issues, and have been extremely patient while a "plan" was constructed, and so I waited to fill out the review because I wanted to see if we got resolution. I posted a review last night and since my original review will likely never be seen, I will re-write one here. Children's Lighthouse 1 out of 5 stars: Our family has utilized this daycare facility for 7 years, and we have had an amazing experience until the ownership changed. The new owners have come in and raised tuition due to inflation, and simultaneously completed a complete renovation inside and out (much was not needed). Our daughter has come home with injuries that were unexplained, or that the staff was unaware of. No incident report, nothing. She came home with a scratch (enough to bleed and scab) and we were told they weren't sure of the cause and didn't know about until we asked. She has had other unexplained injuries as well. Many of our items have been lost and yet to be found. The communication between the owners, admin, staff and parents is abysmal. We aren't made aware when our child needs things in advance, such as diapers and wipes. She has come home in different diapers and we are told she ran out and needs some for the following day. Fortunately, our child doesn't have reactions to other diapers as this has happened on severa occasions. We have had several meetings and voiced all of the above concerns without resolution. And we are currently looking for a new center for our child where she will receive loving care and be safe. We will greatly miss the 5-7 staff members that are doing an AMAZING job, there may be more, but I don't know all of them as turnover is very high and several of the great ones have left on their own terms (allegedly). Prior to posting this here, the owners DEMANDED that I pick up my child immediately, hung up on me twice, and have said that I posted a review to several social media outlets...at that time, that was not true, once I press submit it will be true. We were here for over a year. There are some amazing teachers here that we love and miss dearly. The teacher turnover is insane. There are constantly new teachers and the new teacher is not formally introduced or communicated to parents. I had a staff member here joke about buying my child. I had three incident reports in 24 hours of my child getting hurt. When I asked the owner of the child to teacher ratio she did not know the answer and had to look it up. I asked to see the footage to see if the adults were monitoring him it took over a month to see it and constantly asking for updates. He was not being watched when he fell and hit his head twice leaving bruises and bumps. I tried to give another chance at my meeting and was promised things had changed with the new director. I asked who the afternoon teachers would be for my two children and the director nor owner could tell me. I do feel like they care and are trying to improve, but it was just no longer a place I felt safe leaving my children. Also the food they feed is mainly all processed and heavy carbs/sugar. It's nice the price included food, but it was not anything I wanted my children eating. read more

The worst school. The classrooms are always disorganized. Management never knows what they are doing. If your kid likes a teacher tell him to kiss them goodbye because they are constantly rotating teachers. Some of the teachers are not trained for special ed children and some have 0 experience with children. I would rather lose my job and watch my child at home than send them to this place. read more

My son has been with this daycare since he was 8 weeks old and he is now 7 1/2 months. As a new mom I was very nervous until I watched Mrs Laverne and Mrs Jessica on the cameras. They have and still treat my son like he is their child, which I love. He jumps out of our arms to get to them. My son has now moved on to another room and I have had some minor issues, but needless to say, Anna, Melissa, owner, and teachers always listen and make adjustments no matter how over the top I am...(remember new mom) my son seems to be advancing with holding his bottle, moving around, and overall meeting all his milestones either early or right on time thanks to the staff. My son enjoys his interaction with the other kids and is tired out by the time he reaches home allowing for a great sleeping schedule for the whole family. Overall my little guy is happy, so I'm happy. The only thing I would recommend is deep clean the rooms and possibly invest in an air purifier because the kids are always sick. I registered my baby here because of all the good reviews I read and distance from my house. Unfortunately it was not a good experience for us at all. The care takers in the 6 month to 12 month room repeatedly force fed my baby. My request was simply to please offer a bottle before solid foods but don't force her if she doesn't drink it. Yet multiple days I watched on the camera, I witnessed my child being force fed. I had a number of discussions with the director and owner about expectations but for whatever reason this teacher just didn't get it. My now 12 month daughter has a scar on her face from a feeding incident at this place because she was trying to fight off the women force feeding her. (I witnessed it live online at work at recorded it before leaving to go get her) I am reminded about it everyday I see her scar and it angers me. When I tried to show the owner the footage, I was told "the camera makes things look worse then they are" and she refuse to watch. I did receive an apology but an apology doesn't remove a scar from my pretty girls face! Needless to say we are at another child care facility now. read more

I love this place. My 3 kids have gone here for 2 years. The staff is amazing. Mrs. Jennifer and Mrs. Anna communicate everything with me effectively, efficiently, and with love and care. My kids love going here. My oldest does before and after school care. He has special needs. They always include him in everything, and they know how to work with him. The entire staff go above and beyond for all of "their kids" every single day! I appreciate them so much. read more

I teach at 10 different preschools a week (Childrens Lighthouse is not one of them), and Children's Lighthouse is by far better than the other schools I teach at. Every teacher at this school genuinely care about their students and helping each child learn. The staff is compassionate and professional and they do everything they can to help you with anything you need. Both of my kids go to Childrens Lighthouse. My son started in room 5 and is now in room 9. My daughter started in room 4 and is now in room 6. All of their teachers have been amazing and they love it. I can't imagine taking them anywhere else. read more

Our daughter has been going here for almost 1 yr. She has learned so much and continues to surprise us on an everday basis. We are very pleased with the attention and service we get from the staff. Everyone is nice, polite and speaks everytime you see them (even at 6:30am they are happy to see us). When I walk out the door after dropping her off, I am comfortable and confident that I have left her in the care of those that put her well being first. read more

My daughter went to this daycare from age 9 months to 6 years. They treated her like she was their own over all those years. Her last and favorite teacher was Mrs. Melba. Because they day care was so close to my home and was the only one I'd ever used, I took for granted the level of care and attention my daughter received. When I moved her to other locations twice over the years for convenience, I quickly put her back in Children's lighthouse after seeing the difference in quality of care. My daughter learned so much here and they always handled me and her with the highest level of professionalism. I highly recommend this center. read more

My little one has been here since she was 2.5 months old. The directors and teachers since day 1 in room 1 have made every effort possible to ensure she is taken care of and that any concerns of mine are addressed. Being a full time working mom who breastfeeds is/was not easy, but the staff here definitely helped ease the transition and comforted any potential doubts I may have had about being a full time working parent putting their child in daycare. It feels like a family here, and I would recommend them to everyone and anyone I know. read more

We loved this center. Our son started here and we eventually brought our infant daughter once my mother in law went back home. Each teacher's hands they passed through was amazing and they cared for our children in a way that gave me peace of mind while I was at work. That is PRICELESS! Aside from belongings occasionally going home with the wrong child, we had no issues or negative experiences with this center. If you're looking for a family-like environment, with an education centered curriculum where every one in the building knows your child by name, this is certainly the place to go. read more

This place has gone way down hill. Different directors revolving doors of teachers, the teacher don't check my child homework consistently. We was promised a structure curriculum but we paid for an overpriced play school. I would. It recommend I didn't know how far my child was behind. Now I am correcting their failed promise. read more

For some reason, my first review did not show up completely. Decent pre-k program which uses Hooked On Phonics. They're not very proactive with concerns--the staff seems to not take confrontations (even calm ones, not at all aggressive) on parental concerns very well which you would think be a part of their job. Summer program is not well thought out although it appears that way with their 'calendar' full of events. Every time I picked up my child, the kids would be running around doing nothing with the day care worker looking tired and annoyed--can't blame them, but this is child care. My kid always told me they do nothing after their scheduled 'activity' which would typically last no more than a couple hours with the exception of field trips. Not at all impressed with the way they handle the babies. I would never bring my 1 year old here. read more

We enrolled our child here recently and we are extremely disappointed with the school. Being that this was our childs first experience with daycare, we were patient enough to give it a few weeks before deciding if it was good or not. Basically, my child was frieghtened by the "teacher". Everytime we would bring her name up at home our child would go hide and say "I don't like ms.____, she's so mean". I would watch the monitors ALL day and nothing was done to comfort my child when she was crying. My child even told me her teacher would tell her to "be quiet and stop crying" instead of trying to comfort her. Also, no effort was made to encourage a "new" child to eat during snack and lunch. You would think they would understand and care enough to realize she's scared and needs some positive reinforcement. Also, this class seemed extremely boring!!!! children sit at tables for long periods of time throughout the day with absolutely NOTHING to do!!! just sitting at a cleared table! NO teaching, no teacher interaction as far as playing with the children. On a lucky day, maybe some music and forcing the children to "dance around" on a rug! This was a TERRIBLE experience for us and now my child is terrified of the word "school". We have decided to wait at least a few months and hope she forgets this experience before trying another school. read more

Our 2 year old son attended this faculty and we were not happy at all with the staff nor "caregivers". Seemed like our son was being bullied by his own "caregiver". Our son has a speech delay and due to that, the "caregiver" would treat him as if he was an outcast. This was our first time having to place our child into a daycare and the experience was horrible. Knowing that their rooms were equipped with cameras for the parents to view while their child was in class, the "caregiver" made it seem like no one was watching them. Little did they know, that my husband and I were on those monitors from the moment our son was dropped off to the moment he was being picked up. There were numerous times we have caught something going on in the room that we did not like and had to call the front desk to inform them that something was going on in the room that didn't seem right. Our sons "caregiver" asked two other 2 year olds to pull and drag our son constantly during rug time and our son didn't seem to like that and we called to let the front desk know that some of the children were pulling and dragging our son on the ground and that the "caregiver" wasn't doing anything to stop it...after someone was sent to the room to investigate, we received a call back and was told that the "caregiver" asked his fellow students to help him join his classmates to rug time but in my opinion, its the "caregivers" responsibility to get the child rather than send two 2 years olds to do her job. We paid for our son to be taken care of not to be pushed to the side and ignored on a daily basis. Almost everyday our son was "written up" mostly for extremely petty reasons. A 2 year old was written up which makes no sense. One of the so called "write ups" was because he ran out of class when a parent was picking their child up and he ran out and made it to the front desk. If someone was watching him he wouldn't have made it out of his class but yet our son got in trouble for it. He got "written up" so many times that the director called for a conference with us but by that point we were already fed up with the mistreatment of our son that we were already visiting other daycares to move him. His "caregiver" made it apparent that she just plainly didn't want to deal with our son which is why she constantly wrote him up and for the director to take notice and ask us to remove our child from their daycare. Even though our son could not speak he did show us that he did not like us to leave him in the care of said "caregiver". He's in a much better daycare that he loves and is progressing immensely since attending his new daycare, rather than suffer when we would leave him at the children lighthouse . He now smiles and gets excited when he is left at his new daycare. He adores his new caregivers and is progressing immensely at his new daycare. There is a real night and day difference from his new and old daycare. Ac message to the parents that are considering this place as a suitable daycare to leave your child, trust your gut instinct. If your child isn't happy the moment you walk into this place PLEASE take note of it and find a better place. Don't make the same mistake we made. read more
