Funny how these 5 star reviews appeared after the TRUTH was posted. I guess yesterday was the day the owner decided to show up and started making the employees post fake reviews. Maybe she threatened to take their vacation time without prior notice, AGAIN!!! It's also very curious how they have an employee who's only been there for about a month, post a review saying how wonderful the job is. I only mention this due to the fact that she is the least competent person there and yet writes as if she has been there for so long and knows all the ins and outs. Question for you if you happen to read this, weren't you the one who was in charge of receiving diapers for a child who had ran out, did not give the diapers to appropriate teacher and caused the child to go without being changed? I would call that being right out incompetent but that is just my opinion. But since Jennifer Jean-Baptiste likes to play favorites and only targets certain employees, nothing was done or said against this employee for their incompetence. Lastly, it is very curious how these "reviews" sound so similar in their description of this horrible place. Almost as if it were scripted or all written at the same time. Maybe they ran out of ideas and just started copying each other, who knows. Instead of making your staff post reviews, maybe you should take a moment to reflect on the toxicity of this work environment. I do not recommend this place . You called the headquarters and email about concerns . You will not get no response or callbacks ! My child always came hungry and most of all thirsty . My child came back recently with lice and my child classmate also had it and they made it seem probably my child got it somewhere else when they are on the hush-hush they have a outbreak in their center. Our daughter started at the center in the infant room and she will be in 3K this year. Her sister has attended since she was a few months old. We love this center! It is great to be able to go to work knowing your babies are in good hands. The teachers and staff are like family and the girls run in to school each day. The curriculum is great and the girls are always learning new things, including sign language when they are in the infant room. I would give them more than five stars if I could! read more

From what I've seen, this facility is understaffed, chaotic and not at all an acceptable environment for children. I do not at all recommend sending your children here. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! My son was a former student at this daycare. He started the daycare in January of 2014. By February he was sick with conjunctivitis and was out of school for a week. Then in March he got the coxsackie virus and what out for another week, then the same month he got conjunctivitis again and was out for another week. Their entire nursery area had to be evacuated because all of the children under two got coxsackie virus and even one of the teachers got sick.All of the kids had a runny nose that never went away. I spoke with the director and the teachers and they told me that they're cleaners are not allowed to use Lysol or bleach to clean the facilities...really??!! I would say my son was absent more than he was in school because he was infected each time he visited this day care. I also believe that they weren't patient with my son because it seemed like they didn't feed him. He lost a lot of weight. After numerous visits to the ER and my sons dramatic weight loss I decided to pull him out seven months later. I tell you that was the best decision that I made. In one month my son gained five pounds and he has been at his daycare for two years and has never gotten sick from there. To The Staff at the Learning Experience I'd like to give you some advice...if you keep letting sick children into your facilities and causing other children to get sick than you should prorate the fees that the parents incur and not charge them the full rate. read more

This is an amazing daycare by any standards and in New York that is saying a lot! When we moved to New York we were shocked by how few daycare choices were available that were moderately priced and provided quality care. We took our kids to another daycare facility at first that we soon found to be completely unacceptable before finding this place. The location was not the most convenient for us since we live closer to Prospect Park but the teachers were amazing, the facilities were spectacular (great indoor and outdoor playgrounds) and they engage the students with a great age appropriate curriculum. Both my daughters loved the teachers and the school! Sadly, after just a year, our stay in New York is coming to an end for work reasons but I will give my strongest recommendation to The Learning Experience for any parents looking for a mid-priced daycare that gives absolutely top-notch care. This place looks clean and nice but the staff is very inexperienced and young. They are not warm and fuzzy and are not good communicating. The owners just care about the money and they aren't even ashamed to make it feel that way. My daughter was there for a week and a half and they will not refund half a month (which is very expensive)! if your child needs extra attention this is not the place to get it. The Learning Experience is getting one star becuase of it's good indoor play facility - but that's all that's good about this day care. The staff is, with the rare exception, uncaring and often unkind to the children. I agree with another reviewer about hearing inappropriate conversations about the children, about the parents, and about other staff members. The management was catty and lazy, and the gossipy environment overall unpleasant. Hearing negative comments from the staff about children (and I mean 2 year olds) espcially tipped me off that this place was not right, and whoever was doing the hiring needed to be fired. Above all, i found that they were short on care and attention with my child and the other kids. If a child wasn't feeling well, they isolated that child (fine), but would just leave them alone, no check-ins, and then make unnecessary comments (Ala, "eew, that was so gross"). I'd say that the only thing they were really diligent about was collecting payment. Where tother daycare centers coordinate activites and guide the children, hours of the day at TLE were spent in "free play" - ie, kids walking around their respective rooms, sometimes playing and sometimes sitting alone and bored and lonely - very sad for a parent to see. "Free play" is not what a young child's day should be built around - it's clearly just another way to avoid doing your job. Steer clear. read more

My son has been enrolled in Learning Experience since he was 5 months old and the school had just opened. My husband and I are so thrilled with the quality of the childcare provided! The teachers are so aware of everything that my son does. If he has been sick, I have been contacted immediately. Everyone is so on top of things! I feel like I am able to communicate with the teachers and directors whenever I need to. The facilities are beautiful. Everything is kept clean and up to date. There are no other daycare centers that I have seen which can compare. Now that I have a second child, he will be starting there in a few weeks when I go back to teaching. It is well-worth the expense! Kimmy, the director, and Pam, the assistant director, are absolutely amazing. I have had to fight with my son to go home! If I could, I wouldn't give this place any stars. It's imperative that everyone knows how unprofessional this day care is--if that's what they even are. Once upon a time, it really was a place you could take your children to and feel confident that they would be taken care of. Unfortunately, it has changed hands, and now it's filled with incompetent workers. Much of the staff spends their time staring at their phone screens than keeping their eyes on the children, after all, that is what they are being paid to do. The workers lack training, and I feel that if you're going to be working in a children's environment, you should be committed; knowing that this isn't retail, or some burger joint. This is a place for children--our future. Please do yourself a favor and seek day care assistance elsewhere. As first time parents, our daughter well-being has been our outmost concern. When she was two years old we decided that it was time to search for a daycare that not only would take care of her needs but that would also provide the social interaction that she was lacking due to being a single child cared by a private nanny. Our search was lengthy, not only because it need it to accommodate our long working hours, but also because we were looking for a specific place that not only would cater our daughter's needs, but would provide an educational curriculum that would advantage her when the mandatory school age would approach. After reviewing several schools and addressing our issues with teachers and individuals in the educational field, we discovered The Learning Experience (TLE). We were and are extremely happy with our choice. Our daughter has been literally blooming in their environment. She is way ahead of other children her age that were not fortunate to receive the same educational support. Although, in the beginnings she had a hard time adjusting, her teachers and the entire staff at TLE has been continuously and effortlessly provide her with love and comfort. The entire staff has always been able to answer all our questions and they have been always accommodating. Now she looks forward to go to school, she considers her teachers and her friends part of her life and we know she would be sad once it will be time for her to move on. The teachers are all very loving and affectionate. The fact that they are all graduated in the educational field or/and are completing their graduate course, is a warranty for us, as parents, that our child is addressed in the most effective way. As a parent, we understand that we must work with her educators so we can all address concerns in the same manner. Thus, the fact that we can approach her teachers and agree with them on methods to reinforce positive behavior and/or receive/give suggestions that can improve our daughter's learning, is proof that TLE is the right fit for us and we highly reccomend. The reasons we are giving a 4 star rating is the tuition which is extremely high compared to other daycare we visited. We are not sure how parents with 2 or more children can afford to send their kids to school! read more

When I had to find a daycare for my daughter, I was a nervous wreck. I swore no place would be good enough. From the moment we stepped into the Learning Experience, we were extremely pleased. Now my daughter, 3 years old, and my son, 1 year old, go there and have been there since they were both newborns. They love every single teacher and are always happy when I pick them up at the end of the day. The indoor and outdoor playgrounds are clean and well kept, my son never wants to leave Make Believe Boulevard when I pick him up! The teachers have become a part of our family, and I couldn't ask for anything more. As at any place, it's not always sunshine and rainbows, but any issues I have had (minor- never life threatening) have always been discussed and addressed promptly by staff and management. I am beyond grateful for the caring and attentive teachers and director. My daughter starts UPK in the fall and we are beyond excited for everything that she will learn- she's already so smart, and we credit a lot of that to TLE and their teachers. Their hours of operation help make my life so easy, especially since I work in the city, an hour away. Would definitely recommend TLE! read more

The daycare itself is clean beyond belief and the food is made right on premises! The halls and all the classrooms are lined with the beautiful works created by the children. My baby was enrolled in this daycare for a short while. I was not at all happy with the care provided. I never once witnessed a worker hold my child - and I would often wait at the window and do drive-bys during the day to see if they ever did hold her. They didn't. She ended up in a crib or swing, or worse yet, crying on the floor, all alone. I DID witness the workers complaining about babies crying and how awful and unfair the management was on several occasions. Beware! Looks can be very deceiving. Just because this place is clean, does not mean your child is getting loving care. Found a new place, significantly cheaper and my baby is constantly engaged in fun, creative activities. The Learning Experience is shameful, and what's worst is that they have tons of potential, if they only had the right staff. read more

School is a little pricey. Well worth it. Majority of the teachers and staff are very warm and welcoming. My son cries every time I drop him off.... but never wants to leave at the end of the day, That says a lot about this day care. For the parents who write negative reviews it's very unfortunate for them. This school maintains my security of knowing that while I'm working my child is in good hands. Although my child does get sick here and there .... what school doesn't have sick children. It's not the responsibility of the day care to kick your child out of the school if your child has an unknown virus. That responsibility falls on the parents to keep their children out of school. I pulled my daughter out after 5 months. She was sick every 3 weeks. And if I Loved the school maybe I would have kept her there but many things bothered me. No one communicates about events. My daughter missed school pictures, I almost missed the holiday show bc they didn't tell me the date changed, nothing is ever updated on the website. They said they would help potty train but she ALWAYS had an accident at school bc they never got her to bathroom on time. She literally had a fever every 3 weeks which were all viral so she must be catching virus's from the dirty school or the dirty kids, she also got the flu! They are supposed to ask for doctors notes if your child is out more than 2 days. NO one ever asked me and my child was usually out for a week at a time. NO one seemed experienced there except Pam in the front. Talking to the director and teachers were like pulling teeth. Obviously its inevitable and kids will get sick when they first start but this was just too much for us to handle and a waste of money. read more

The directors and teachers are warm and friendly! The age appropriate curriculum is challenging and fun. All core subjects are implemented into the daily hands-on curriculum. In addition, this is strategically building a fundamental understanding to the common core curriculum; which they will need to execute throughout their elementary school years. I'm excited to say that my 4 year old already knows his state capitals. He has blossomed with his phonemic awareness. Thanks to TLE's early introduction to reading, rhyming and blending; my son is reading! TLE is more than a daycare and school; it is a second home and family to my three kids. I am so lucky to have found such a prestine and safe school. While I am working (I am a teacher), I truly trust that my children are safe in the hands of both directors; Kara and Kerry, owner, Lynnanne and the nurturing TLE staff! read more

A DISASTER and a heartache for us as parents. Try to avoid this place. Very unprofessional staff. I do believe they have teachers that are warm, caring and educated and we saw a couple but, unfortunately, they were not our daughter's teachers. Her teachers, or teachers' assistants had no knowledge of child's psychology, needs or fears that needed to be addressed in a warm and caring manner regularly. They seemed very detached, cold, and uneducated. It seemed, for them, it was just a job. Our daughter was there for 2 days only and we had to stop sending her there after noticing how physically rough one of the teacher's assistant was with her. And it was just one of a few incidents we noticed during those two days. We had to report the incident but the teachers, when confronted, avoided presenting real facts! They have cameras, but their cameras DO NOT record so you are not able to see the footage of anything that happens during the day. A BIG red flag and a hopeless situation. We regret ignoring all other red flags we noticed. The first thing that struck me was how quiet and miserable the kids looked whether it was meal time or play time. Crying toddlers were not attended to, not comforted, and instead - scolded for crying. The idea of having a circle time was to force the kids to sit in a circle and handle them like they were rag dolls. Unfortunately, at that time, our daughter was too little to be able to communicate with us as to what was making her scared and uncomfortable. We had such an awful experience with this place! My son also got bit one time. No one called or wrote a note. I saw it that night when I got home. It was deep bite. I had to call and ask about it. I was so angry. My child is in the 4s class. The facility is impressive-colorful, large, well-lit, clean with great indoor and outdoor play spaces. My child's classroom teachers are kind, caring and communicative and my child likes them very much. The curriculum is very structured and will help your child learn. I have been very pleased with it. They are currently working on geography and my child comes home daily talking about the states, able to point them out on a map, excited about the day and happy to do the homework. In general, it has been a positive experience although I am giving four stars because this center is far more expensive than other local options. You would have to assess for yourself and your family whether you felt it was worth the expense. read more

My son was recently enrolled at The Learning Experience when he was 13 months old. He was placed in the toddler classroom, and within the first 2 months of being there, my husband and I have already seen a significant growth in his social abilities and learning. The teachers in his classroom do an excellent job at making sure all of the kids are well taken care of, and they discuss his progress/days activities on a daily basis with me during drop off/pick up. The entire center is very family oriented, and everyone is always in good spirits throughout the day. The center itself is maintained very well, with classrooms being in great condition and sanitized daily. There is a playground and also a really well-designed "Make Believe Blvd" Room, which is not only visually appealing, but also filled with toys for the kids. So far I am extremely satisfied with the care my son receives at TLC and I am so happy that he is at a place that I am comfortable leaving him 5 days of the week! read more

This daycare only gets 1 star for its appearance and cleaniness. This daycare is good for children above 3 years old who can speak and tell their parents what is going on. Don't enroll your child at this daycare if he or she is below 3 years old and can not let you know what happened to them that day. The staff there do not provide TLC (tender, love, and care) to the babies and toddlers. I witnessed the children cry with staff present in the room and not be comforted by any staff. When my son attended this daycare briefly, he did not get frequent diaper changes. How do I know that? I provided the daycare with Pampers Dry size 5 diapers. I sent my son there in the morning wearing a size 4 pampers diaper. When I came to pick him up, he was still wearing the same size 4 pampers diaper that I sent him there in. I was disgusted! No wonder why most of these kids have diaper rash creams at this daycare. read more
