I had my two sons ages 6 months and 3 years old enrolled for the 2024-2025 school year. I cannot say enough about the care, warmth, and educational experience they both received! My 3 year old attended as a 3k student in which the love, warmth, and guidance he received from Ms. Michelle and Ms. Galilea was unparalleled. He was challenged with new letters, engaged in fun arts projects, and was frequently brought outside with his friends. My 6 month year old received above and beyond attention and care from Ms. Jo-ann, Ms. Ashley, Ms. Karina, and Ms. Esther. When he left they created a book to remember TLE by--and weeks later when we would say Ms. Esthers name he would smile and make noises! All the teachers knew both my boys personally and would communicate daily about their milestones. The admin team at the time of Ms. Erica and Mr. Richard were also phenomenal. They communicated effectively, and despite running a school with so many young people, knew my boys well! TLE felt like a home away from home. We had traveled to the daycare/3K site and only left to be closer to home and have less of a commute. If you are in the LIC area, I cannot recommend both the care and educational experience of the Learning Experience! read more

Parents, be warned-- The Learning Experience in Long Island City is NOT a safe environment for children. My son was assaulted and punched in the face by another child in his 3-K class. This child has a known history of incidents in the classroom and has harassed other kids in the school. As written on the incident report, "Upon R---'s father dropping him off, another child stepped on R---'s shoes and hit him in the face without provocation." Despite this clear act of aggression, the school failed to take action to protect my child. The director covering at the time, Angelica, handled the situation in an unprofessional manner and I've seen her speak to other parents unprofessionally in the past as well. When I expressed my concerns, the school admitted they could not promise the child would stop hitting my son and had no solution to prevent further harm. Instead of taking responsibility, they made it clear that they had no control over student safety. To make matters worse, one of their regional managers, Jennifer, called me that evening and was completely unapologetic. She condescendingly stated, "I spent 15 minutes telling you there's nothing we could do to stop this." Her dismissive attitude and lack of concern for my child's well-being were shocking. On the very same day, another preventable incident occurred. My son scraped his back due to inadequate supervision from Ms. Michelle and Ms. Galilea. The incident report states, "R--- was trying to sit down, and the chair was far back, and he fell and scraped his back." The school provided no real explanation or assurance that they would prevent similar accidents in the future. Days earlier, my son came home with a scratch on his face which Ms. Michelle stated happened after nap time and she admitted she had no idea how it happened. How can a teacher be unaware of an injury that occurred under her supervision? This level of negligence, lack of accountability, and disregard for student safety is completely unacceptable. If you are a parent considering this school, I urge you to think twice. Their inability to provide a safe learning environment puts all children at risk. If an incident occurs, do not expect professionalism, responsibility, or real solutions--only excuses and dismissiveness. No child deserves to experience this and no parent should have to deal with these issues to ensure their child is safe at school. read more

We've been sending our daughter to this location for months and have had a good experience until this Tuesday. At 6:54pm on Tuesday night, we were told the LIC location was being shut down immediately and indefinitely by the NYC Dept of Health. Jennifer Murray, a VP of Operations from The Learning Experience, contacted everyone that night and said they knew about this issue a week ago, it was an admin issue regarding personnel files, and gave no resources to the parents with nowhere to send their children as of that night. Not their office's contact info. Not info on any providers to use in the interim. No offer to reimburse parents who now have to seek last minute childcare, if they even have options available besides running down their vacation days. Giving parents 12 hours to figure out last minute childcare in NYC is unacceptable and we either should have been contacted earlier or given an accommodation. I don't think we'll be sending our child back to this daycare chain and I hope this review helps parents considering the daycares in the area. I could see before the closing that there was some changes in management but I never expected this center to have such lax internal controls that they'd be suddenly shut down overnight. The care my daughter received from the childcare professionals was excellent and it's a shame this was handled the way it was. And I'm angry this inattention to compliance by the center has put out all the parents and childcare staff the way it has. I really thought better of The Learning Experience. read more

Long story short, get your child here, I am confident this school is the best option you will find. The center director is really nice and helpful. She is aware of everything that is going on even individually with every single kid. She coordinates with parents and listen for suggestion. She will do what it takes to ensure that your child is in good hands The journey with the school was AMAZING! we are really heartbroken and sad that he will say goodbye to the teachers and his friends. TLE was the very first school/daycare that he has ever attended in his life and it really made a big difference for us!. Credits go to all of the teachers (specially Ms Mary) for making the word "School" a favorable and a positive word for our sun. read more

TLE was the very first daycare experience for my family. When I say this center exceeded any expectations for this nervous mama - that is a true understatement. Hennie and Nazmin run the center and are always responsive, professional and HAPPY. You can tell they (and all of the teachers there) truly love what they do. My 3.5 year old daughter had a few teachers including Ms. Audrey, Ms. Za and Ms. Mary. My daughter raved about each and every one of them. My 1.5 year old son had Ms. Angie and Ms. Monet and the fact that during drop-off he would literally jump out of my arms to go into theirs was priceless. TLE uses an app to share how much the kids ate, activities they did and uploaded multiple pictures throughout the day. They did a great job of implementing masks for kids 2+. They have a fantastic curriculum and the center is phenomenal on the inside including an extensive play area called Make Believe Blvd which has an insane amount of toys and an interactive smart board. They also have an indoor playground. Not a dime was spared in ensuring kids would literally never get bored! Nazmin/Hennie- I wish you all the success for the years to come and I'll never forget the impact your center has made on my kids. You gave my pandemic-born toddler a reason to smile everyday and love strangers. You encouraged my daughter to embrace in friendships that she will forever be grateful for. We are so incredibly sad to be leaving. Our most heartfelt "thank you" to all of the TLE LIC staff for setting the bar so high and an absolutely unforgettable experience. read more

This center is amazing. Definitely more like an Early Childhood development center than a daycare. My 20 month old has been going there for 6 weeks now and the difference in her development is remarkable. The teachers are so dedicated, led by the amazing director Cassandra. I leave my daughter there for 9.5 hours a day while I work and feel so secure that they are teaching her and helping her grow. Plus their app is like a little FB feed on their day. TLE, the operations team, and the teachers have been absolutely incredible to our little one. Their team has gone above and beyond to accommodate our child's very complex dietary restrictions. Our child has a very difficult life long low protein diet that only allows 5 grams of protein per day. She essentially cannot eat 95% of foods available to others, and the foods she can have are all measured or weighed according to her daily protein allotment. Beans, high protein veggies, any meat or animal product can make her violently ill and have long term effects of brain damage. As you would imagine, we would not leave our daughter in just anyone's care. Nazmin, Hennie, and Ms. Mary have worked so hard to care for our child with the necessary attention to detail and care that I could only have dreamed of as a mother. Our little one also had no significant engagement with other children due to the pandemic so adjusting to a classroom was really hard for us. With the social development and dietary needs, their team has gone above and beyond to learn a complex diet and watch our little girl like a hawk when food is being managed in the classroom. I am indebted + grateful to them. Thank you so much for helping us get through the tough days, and I hope other parents with scary dietary issues, allergies, or any special needs can find a team as patient and dedicated as Ms. Mary, Ms.Hennie, and Ms. Nazmin. They also have such a clean facility, it makes my germ phobia during this pandemic so much more at ease. It's a beautiful and well managed space. Under new management the TLE at LIC has been such a gift to our family. Always caring, consistent, and communicative! When we returned upon their reopening, the COVID affects on my son were alive and well. He struggled with basic communication, transitions and separating from us. Without hesitation the staff at TLE put on their masks and rolled up their sleeves to make sure every child felt safe, loved and cared for. As a parent, that's all you can ask for. TLE also utilizes a communication app that allows you to see your child's progress and activities throughout the day so you always feel connected. Their specially designed curriculum and monthly themes are incredibly engaging and fun. My son has flourished in their care and is learning and growing every day. Our daughter has been in another daycare and we noticed many things that concerned us. After moving to TLE we have been so happy and our daughter loves it! It is a much happier place overall. The staff from the front desk to the teachers are all always very positive and helpful. The place is super neat and clean at all times. Communication is key for us and the owner Nicole has called us personally to speak to us. (They don't just send an email.) Our daughter is learning so much. Called to make an appointment for a tour, as u am currently 8 months pregnant and will soon need child care. The receptionist said, "we dont have any openings for tours, they are all full." So i asked if that meant that they werent accepting any new children, as who would sent their baby to a daycare without seeing it first? Her response was simply, "all tours are full." We called to schedule a tour and wanted a chance to speak to the owner. First, Marie (the office manager, I believe) was incredible rude. She laughed condescendingly when we asked if we could schedule something soon. Second, she huffed at us when we asked to speak to the owner. Finally, during the visit, when we asked her questions, she didn't know if we were parents that had a student enrolled or not. How do you not know who are regulars and who are visitors? Granted that she is not representative of the faculty, but as an office manager, she represents the face of the school. Call me entitled, but I think courtesy is the least you can ask for in a business. I would think this is a fluke, but two other prospective families have told us the same. read more

Coming to TLE in the morning feels less like taking my 3yr old to school and more like bringing him to a second home with an amazing education. When Montessori Kids closed in the middle of last summer, with no warning, families like mine were left scrambling to find a comparative education for our kids, and we were just about to sign up for a school in Greenpoint when a friend told me to check out TLE. The second we walked in, I knew that TLE was where we belonged and I only feel that moreso after 6 months there. I am praying that they are approved next year for universal pre-k, so that he can stay until kindergarten. The owner, Nicole Collins, is a fellow mom and she treats you with all of the care and consideration that she would want to be treated with--probably more. She is easy to speak with and open-minded, while having the highest of standards. Their wonderful director, Ara, keeps everything running smoothly, and the teachers truly adore their students and nurture them. We are constantly amazed at how fast and how much our son is learning, most importantly how to be kind and treat everyone respectfully. The school is beautiful and clean and bright, while simultaneously being warm and cheerful. I couldn't imagine a better place to entrust my son with. read more
