Covid times have been rough - especially to my lady bits. I'm giving myself scars from trying manage my untamed hair while the salons are shut down! (I know, I shouldn't touch anything...) Going to Tahoe for a getaway from the city, I decided to get some business done. First off, this is the cutest salon with the cutest name that I've ever been to. Second, Amanda is AMAZING! She's quick and efficient, fun to talk to, and she does an amazing job! I forgot what it's like to have an esthetician that cares about you.. I got a brazilian wax, eyebrow wax, upper lip wax, and underarm wax. Everything was done within 30-45 mins. While I was getting my upper lip waxed, I smelled chocolate. I mentioned it to her and she said it's chocolate wax (!!). Isn't that cool?! It made me feel relaxed as she was getting everything done. I didn't feel any or much pain during my session and I highly recommend her. ALSO - she just recently opened her business during the middle of COVID, so props to her!! I made a last minute trip to Tahoe and hadn't gotten my face done in months. I called Amanda early on Saturday morning for an appointment while I drove in from the Bay Area to Tahoe. She answered the phone before the opening hours and was able to get me in for a 10:30a appointment. I got there early and after finishing up her prior at home call, she got there early and was able to help me out earlier than anticipated. I can't even begin to express how great Amanda was and I'm actually so sad I don't live in Tahoe because she did an incredible job with my full face wax + brows. I was super nervous about trying out a salon and being helped by someone I had never seen before and she was great. Amanda wore a mask the whole time while waxing my face and was super clean (no double dipping or any of that gross stuff) and she listened to everything I said about my brows and natural hairline. Also she was just so much fun to talk to and an amazing professional. If I'm ever in Tahoe again, I will definitely be stopping here because Amanda's waxing, personality, prices, and store rival some of the best places I've been waxed at over the years. This is the BEST SKIN CARE studio in Tahoe! I am a dude with a pretty crusty face after spending all my time out in the mountains. Amanda gave me a totally new face and extracted an unbelievable amount of dirt! With professionalism and class. She also got me hooked on new face scrubs, aftershave, and a beard oil that I wear every day. If you have man in your life, get him some products from Amanda! She is super nice and it's a cute shop but she's really fast, too fast. Left patches of hair after my wax. I gave her a few chances, each time patches of hair were left. Now I won't return. Next time, slow down. I shouldn't have to rewax after I get home. $60 for a 5 minute visit, supposed to be a 15 minute appointment. I really wanted to love this place. read more

I really wanted to love this place SO much more but sadly it just didn't meet my needs or expectations. Amanda was super kind though and the space is cute. This was my first brow waxing since Mar '20 so I had a lot to work with and was stoked to get them shaped again (I generally keep my brows full and never pencil in - no disrespect to folks that do!) I thought I communicated my skincare/makeup habits clearly in relation to my eyebrows but that didn't exactly translate because it resulted in uneven & over plucked brows. To the esthetician's credit they did ask me "Do you like them?" after showing me the final result. I looked & replied with a quick "Yes" because with the lighting in there they looked okay at first glance. Maybe she sensed some apprehension in my voice because she followed up with a reminder that I can always "pencil the ends out" which just made me feel unheard when it comes to my brow style because I had just mention how that's not something I like to do. Upon further inspection later in the day I realized I was wrong about liking my brows and now I'm pretty bummed about them. I know it's just hair and they'll eventually grown back in but it still puts a damper on things for the time being. Yes, I did still leave a tip because I'm not a total jerk and people still deserve to be paid a living wage. read more

She also has this amazing item on her menu called a "steam and clean" which is basically the bare essentials of a facial.
