My girl Mackenzie always takes great care of me! She really understands my wavy hair, and manages to cut and style it better than I could envision. She has never cut off more than I've asked, or tried to persuade me to do anything I'm uncomfortable with. I also like the Aveda products the salon has, their deep conditioner is great for my hair. I was told the warm brown streaks were from a problem with their water filter. Apparently they knew this and didn't reschedule. I don't know what happened with the cut. I went in last week wanting a lived-in, ashy blonde look. I showed multiple inspiration photos and explained that I wanted cool tones with my natural roots left in. Instead, I left with warm, striped highlights that looked nothing like what I asked for and they didn't even tone my hair. I called back to see if it could be fixed and was scheduled with a different stylist the next day. While the highlights were slightly more blended, the result was still not the cool, lived-in blonde I specifically requested. Very disappointing experience. I told them I was still unhappy, and they said I would have to pay again if I wanted it fixed after I had already paid $200 for this. read more

Worked with Colin, who did a fabulous job grey blending my shoulder length hair. He also gave me a quick trim and a nice little blow out. If i lived in town, he would definitely be my regular stylist, he is very skilled and incredibly pleasant to spend time with. I think it's not clear here in yelp that this is an aveda salon. I have scheduled hair appointments on separate occasions and I am under the impression that they do not handle hair from POC. I have a curly afro and have been obliged with consultations but upon my departure from consultation and even getting scheduled an appointment, I ALWAYS receive text that they cannot do my hair due to time restraint. I have blocked hours on calendars only to have them make excuses that do not add up from their own mouths. I have had very special events be ruined by their initial murders by kindness. They don't want us there and I have gathered enough evidence to make this statement, today. The best that they can do for us when appt times come are all-over clown colors. I will never recommend them to anyone who has a big day coming up. It will surely be a problem with them. read more

The salon was very nice, as expected from an Aveda salon. However, the new client discount is a complete scam because they make you prepay and will not refund you, only give you credit for future services(I will not be going back). Additionally, the haircut did not look anything like the inspiration photos I provided, and the so-called expert hairstylist(the more expensive one) didn't even check if my hair looked even in front of my shoulders and missed a chunk of hair. Came here for my long awaited post-pregnancy cut. I've got thick curls and have found that Aveda salons are generally reliable for a solid cut/style. Unfortunately, true blue didn't meet expectations. I was scheduled for a 15minute consultation with the curly hair specialist prior to my cut to discuss the "plan". Ultimately, I wound up with a very generic cut and basically all of the things that I had asked her NOT to do (triangle cut, longer in front, etc etc; all of the FAILs from prior cuts). She kept trying to fix the situation, but I realized that 1. she just wasn't truly comfortable cutting curls and 2. all my hair would be chopped off by the time she finished. I cut my losses and left; a bun isnt so bad for a few months. Two stars for fair prices and kind staff. Sadly wont be returning and cant recommend for curls read more

This location is convenient for me & I saw that they have a discount for first time clients, so I figured I would try it. When I called to make an appointment, the employee was extremely helpful in explaining the different levels of stylists at Aveda salons & their costs. The salon itself is very pretty & well kept. The woman who cut my hair was super sweet & made great conversation. I thought she did a good job with the cut, but I'm also the most low maintenance person on earth when it comes to my hair. After 15 years, I just think that I've found my favorite salon. I initially was temped by the $20 off for new customers and was overjoyed to learn that their haircuts start at only $37.00! Yes. So I gave them a call and got an appointment with Tori. She was friendly, talkative, and did an excellent job on my hair! I was extremely pleased to get to the register and only pay $17.00 for a great cut. Perfect. The only hiccup was that she was running a little over 30 minutes behind, and I had an appointment afterwards that I was late to. I understand that it happens, but since I had other plans it was slightly aggravating. By far the best coloring service I've gotten! I made the mistake of coloring my hair almost a solid black shade by myself a couple weeks ago at home and was unhappy with my results and when I came in, I told the stylist Colyn that I wanted to brighten myself up and he did not disappoint! Booking was very easy online and I liked that you could pick which level of stylist you wanted based on price. My stylist Sydnie was friendly and gave me the exact haircut I asked for. Overall, the salon is sleek, with mostly black and white/chrome decor, and they even have Dyson hair driers which makes it feel extra fancy. Everything from entering the place, getting a head massage and my hair shampooed were great introduction to the place. It is clean, has beautiful photographs everywhere. Brandi did a great job getting to know me and was willing to give her opinion rather just ask me what I wanted. I feel that she "got" me. We ended up as friends. She spoke VERY highly about the salon & Michelle and how she has helped her so much. After some thought I set my appointment. Upon arriving, I was greeted by the front desk. A gentlemen & beautiful black girl. (seriously she is gorgeous). With in seconds my stylist was with me. She was honest, took her time explaining what she thought would be best. Her personality really sets you at ease! I trusted her because she was honest. Plus she is as cute as a button! She colored my hair, offered me something to drink and was very kind to my dad who tagged along. When it came time to wash my hair I was blown away, so relaxing. Hot towel set down so the cold bowl isn't hitting your head. She then put a conditioner in and wrapped it with a warm towel and gave me a arm & hand massage!! HEAVEN!! She cut my hair, and blew it out to perfection! It looked wonderful! My dad I think has told me 4 times now how wonderful of a job she did. You can pay as much as you want for hair care in Nashville, but I have found I am always happy with my stylist at True Blue. I get cut and color and a nice hot cup of Starbucks coffee every time I visit. I picked this Salon based solely on the name. True Blue is a great name, I thought, 'well they sound like they don't mess around, so I'll go there.' I have been going to True Blue regularly for the last year. An Aveda salon with a huge heart! I have been a regular customer of Ashley for a couple of years and I look forward to each appointment. Last year I became very sick and unfortunately had to have my head shaved as part of the treatment. Ashley and the other True Blue staff members were there to comfort me during that very traumatic experience.
