Many longer term patients have left as result of this new practice by the front office. I and others I have referred in addition to the friend who referred me have left messages for the nurse/doctor and there has not been one call back or response for any of us. I ended up with a bill for a service that I flat out declined. I was asked by Dr. Johnson if I would like the Carotid artery scan. I declined. I was then asked by the nurse, I declined - again. She responded that "it's covered by insurance" At which point I was like ok only if its fully covered. She said it was. You now know where this is going. Yes, I get the bill for it. When I call the office - and I kid you not - the Billing department said I should have declined it a 3rd time. What? Are you kidding me? I have to decline a service 3 times in order for them NOT to do it? I don't think so. Despite me really liking Dr. Johnson as my PCP, the rest of the staff appears to be inept and not truthful about the costs - and transfers the blame to the patient. Business these days is a sad state of affairs. I asked to discuss this with the doctor himself, but they said he doesn't get involved with billing - hmmm, perhaps he should. I'm now filing a dispute with my insurance and will have to deal with them sending the bill to collections.
