The question you may be asking is: what Protestant sect is this church? The Congregational Free Church of Christ (CFCC) is technically a congregationalist church, which is defined as: "A Protestant denomination that has roots in the Nonconformists of England. The Congregationalists are much like the Methodists in their teachings. They consider the individual congregation the basic unit of their church, and they practice baptism of infants." So essentially, it's a completely independent self-governing church that doesn't strictly adhere to a specific religious tradition such as Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, etc. Definitions aside, the church itself was purchased from Fort Indian Town Gap in the late 1990s and moved to its current location. It served the military base for decades before it was closed due to disrepair. The church was taken down, transported, and rebuilt with the help of Amish workers. The church proudly maintains its military heritage, with military flags lining the walls and a memorial plaque for members that served in the armed forces. Services start at 9:00 AM Sunday mornings until 10:00 AM. The church is led by Reverend Jeffrey Stonesifer, whose sermons typically last between 15-20 minutes, and are less church-of-the-quivering-brethren and more academic but still accessible to his audience (and always upbeat). The CFCC also has a dynamic and robust Sunday School program, with one room for the older children and one room for the younger. The teachers here are wonderful, and the children have a great time (if the squeals of laughter coming from downstairs is any indication). Everyone is very friendly and welcoming to new people and visitors. The Church is a popular location for weddings, baptisms, and receptions due to it's quaint interior and large basement with a fully functioning kitchen. There is also a garden outside with a large trellis that is frequently used for wedding photos. The church is also very active in fundraising and hosting events, the most popular being the Chinese Auction. I'm not sure why you would be scoping out churches based on Yelp reviews, but if you are in need of a place of worship you can't do any better than the CFCC. Since this is pretty much a food blog, I'd be remiss not to mention the delicious Sunday Breakfast once a month ($6) and numerous dinners. The grounds are peaceful and spacious, perfect for a relaxing walk without even stepping into the woods. You can take in the beautiful scenery, breathe in the fresh air, and get those steps in! The staff in the dining hall and gift shop were absolute gems -- warm, kind, and clearly serving with love. My favorite spot was the small chapel at the top of the hill. It's such a special place for prayer, and our group was truly led to pray fervently while there. If you're looking for a humble, God-centered retreat setting in PA, I'd recommend Blue Mountain in a heartbeat.

It's always felt so welcoming and the staff is always helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. They have an array of crystals, books, statues, spiritual items, etc. The other half of the shop is filled with gifts for everyone, including Christmas ornaments. I've always found their prices to be very fair compared to others. You could get lost for hours looking at all the items this shop has to offer. You definitely get your money's worth here. I'll always come back and find something new. Can't wait to back again soon!

Never could believe a religious institute could be disrespectful and treating people poorly. They…read morehave 5 beds in a "newer" room with single toilet $100. For 5 adults including 2 seniors (80 years), we booked 2 rooms since there will be challenge with one bathroom per room between 5 adults. We checked into the "upgraded room" to find the room was in a sorry state. The furniture was old having touch ups stain, metal beds, with thin towel, the worst was the bathroom with stains in the sink and bath tub was poorly resurfaced. After complaining with Rohsan Desai, Property Manager, he declined to do any kind of compensation or move us to another room which seemed to be newer buildings. He simply said he was extremely busy with other priorities so "Take it or Leave it". He finally suggested to speak with the President of the temple Mr Pravin Desai. Mr Desai was arrogant and rude, he quickly responded that we don't want people to stay in our property who are not satisfied. Mr Desai understood that he has not offered us the right room for the price he charged us. Mr Desai went to the extent of refunding the money even when we pleaded that we have two elderly seniors who have been exhausted and tired with our 7 hours drive and are feels sick. Mr Desai refused to hear ours request to accommodate us by moving us equally standard room or adjust our room charges to $65 for older standard rooms. Mr Desai said he will close the room and get the contractor to do the work. His behavior and attitude showed something unethical is going on at the religious temple. They forced us to take our refund for rooms and refunded us for our prepaid dinner coupon. This was disgraceful at a holy place which honors human treats everyone same and with dignity. We had extremely sad experience at this temple and had to leave without getting proper blessing for which we came to Vraj. Jai Shree Krishna.
