Bonnie the owner asked me to call before arriving. So at 2pm I called and left a voice message of our arrival at 5:00. When entering at 5, she stated no call was received, and the room was not ready so we left for dinner. When we came back, we were told there was no room key. After speaking with another quest they also had no way to lock their room. Then Bonnie stated the wash cloths could not be used to remove make up use only wipes only. (OK) Next day we stated the room did not have to be re-tided. When coming back the door was wide open.( Forgot to mention the shades are old and slightly torn. I had trouble keeping them up, so I tied the blind string together for privacy.) She txt me at dinner stating she entered the room, and I ripped the blinds from the frames and would be charged on my credit card!!!!!! That issue was resolved when the strings were untied. No apology was given. What a night mare. We left as soon as we could the next day before breakfast was served and went to a restaurant to eat instead of staying for breakfast. Would never again return to this place. Very strange. This is my first negative review every given for a B & B.

If you're leisurely ambling your way from, say, Toronto or Kingston to, say, Ottawa or Montréal, it's the perfect night stay-over. The rooms and bed were large, bed and couch comfy. Bring whatever you caught in the river as there's a BBQ on the community patio, along with couches, lawn chairs, and even a hammock! There's a lot of space and a great view of the river. You'll want to take advantage of the area surrounding the B&B, as there are plenty of walking and biking along the forested river banks...quite beautiful! The breakfast was great, with bacon, sausage, home potatoes, bagels, bread, cereal, fruit, juices, and someone there to make you eggs to your liking. I know where I'm staying when I return to the Thousand Islands .... the Riverview B&B!

Good things: bed was comfortable Not good things: proprietors - we had nominal interaction, there was no greeting, assistance; house was only 15 years old, but showed many signs of wear/disrepair; our room (Chardonnay ) - why were there such (tacky) red accents. The a/c unit in the room was standalone , loud, not what one would expect from 4 star place. Recommend- take down the red curtains & get a better looking quilt for the bed; bathroom: 1. towels - so thin. 2 star quality, 2. Shower head - not decent water flow. 3. For a supposed luxury place - a couple of cheap bars of soap was all that was provided 4. Tv not high def/smaller old flat screen On our floor - shared fridge & microwave (fridge has a coors beer sticker covering the entire door) Breakfast - had to walk outside around the building to get there which was fine, however, what would guests do in bad weather. The food was ok, but similar to a 2 star chain hotel, not a b & b (& yes, breakfast cost extra$ which would have been ok if it truly was a b & b breakfast). Also - why was someone mowing & using weed wacker during breakfast hours. Wait an hour or 2 to do that!

A few weeks ago, my daughter called me and said that we should go on a "Staycation". I did not know…read morewhat this meant. She explained that many people were doing this to save money in transportation when going to other places. It meant we stay in Kingston, where we live, and enjoy re-discovering our town, taking tours, we had not done before, disconnecting for a few days of our jobs, and most important, spending time just us: mother and daughter. What a wonderful surprise it was for me to arrived at Frontenac Club to spent 3 days together. This boutique hotel is one of a kind located in the heart of downtown Kingston. We parked the car in the parking lot of the hotel during all our stay, as we were able to walk to the sites we wanted to visit. Also, within walking distance are the best restaurants in town. We were given two marvelous suites, one with a full living room, king bed, and an astonishing bathroom with a bathtub. The other one was also very impressive with all the amenities needed. Both suites were impeccable clean! Every morning, we went down to their restaurant called "The Bank" where we had a well served and complete breakfast (included), and the last day we dine there (tapas), accompanied by life music and the tastiest margaritas I have ever had. Frontenac Club personnel make a special point to get to know their guests. With 20 suites, all with different themes and sizes, they catered families, singles and couples. They have a sweet bar and small arcade for children, a lounge to read and play games, a patio to relax, enjoy the weather while having meals served also there. It is important to note that Frontenac Club is a heritage historic house build in 1871, and although it has been completely and beautifully renovated, it has kept its special character. It was home to one of the first Canadian Bank of Montreal, and therefore there is a vault, so large that it has been conditioned to host business meetings or private celebrations. I highly recommend staying at Frontenac Club. If you are celebrating an anniversary, or a family gathering (my brother and his family stayed here when they visited us from overseas), or if you are celebrating another special occasion, or coming to Kingston as a tourist, or as a staycation guest, you will not be disappointed!
