The ride is about 15 min but the shuttle is comfy (it is a huge bus)! You pay at a tent and don't need a ticket. The shuttle dropped us off right at the end so we could start from the side (there are many vendors). It was right by the fire station. It was very hot walking through but we did find a market that was perfectly air conditioned to cool down in! We bought a refreshing Acai bowl at Wander Bowls Acai, a cookie from Chocolate Chipped Bakery (SO good and they give you a coupon for a free cookie at their farmington location), and a birthday card from the store Vitrine (also nicely air conditioned and has the cutest things)!! We saw the blue fountain, chalk art, music performer, the jurassic park dinosaur, etc. Overall, the vendors are great but it was a crazy hot day and so we didn't have enough energy to walk the whole thing. Loved what we did get to see and I think it is worth attending!

While not near its former glory, where in 1998 Porsche was the featured marque and you could see 917s, 962s, 908s, 935 on the track on Saturday and see those same cars on a golf green on Sunday. The current concours is 60% of its former glory, yet fully satisfies the automobile enthusiasts dream of seeming rare and exotic cars. If you register early, there are many benefits. VIP tickets, park on the grounds. The show is still satisfying, yet lacking for the extreme high end aficionado. Yes there are Gull Wing Mercedes. Most years a Tucker. And a hundred or more rare and exotic cars. This year had an exception. A 1974 Porsche 914-4 amongst dozens of its brethren. A 914-6 would have been more appropriate. Will you see exotic and rare prototypes from the Big 3? Absolutely! Will they be shown anywhere else? Probably not. For the rare GM side in 2018 There were exotic corvettes and the three Pontiac Firebird turbine concept vehicles. In 2017, there was a cutaway of a 1953 corvette that any auto museum in the country would love to display Does it stack up to Monterey or Amilia Island, not anymore. But is it jaw still dropping. And you will see things here that are not anywhere else. You have to check it out.

But my review is not only based on the good times we had but the fact that the State Fair used to be something very different than it is now, and compared to other states' fairs, this is not the best of the best out there. It is conveniently located in Novi for those who live in the area at a hotel. So I basically parked for free in the hotel parking lot. That was great, very convenient, but it did not give epic State Fair feels. This is also at the same place at Comic Con. For Comic Con, this is a great spot but as a pavillion for the entire state, it is pretty sad. You walk into the conference area of the hotel and get tickets. We only spent $10 a person plus free parking, not bad at all. But then you walk through the doors at you are at the fair where the comic booths usually are. It is so small, like the tiniest art fair ever. Mostly local vendors selling stuff, but not enough and not enough variety. Kind of like Comic Con, my child did find some cool anime stuff to buy but it was so sparse. They had a "Cool Zoo" trying to sell exotic animals cooped up in tiny cages looking sad or selling $10 and up hugs, but were a bit deceitful, as they asked my child to touch and hold the animals but did not indicate it was for pay. Meanwhile, the livestock are thrust in the same space as the vendors in the teeniest of spaces. We enjoyed seeing the animals and giving them free pats and pets with permission from their keepers, but when this was once in Detroit, they had their own separate area. Then tucked in the same space were the kiddie rides and a few food areas. The best was the all you can drink chocolate milk for a buck, worth it! Outside were a handful or rides, a few food trucks, the midway games, the concerts, and the circus. It was a tiny backyard behind the hotel, like a teensy parking lot of things to do. It was a lot of fun. We tried a couple stuffed pepperoni pizza rolls, a tiny taco, a mini mango lassi, listening to some good music under a tent, played some games, saw some clowns and tiny dogs driving a car. You can come here for hours and have fun. The downside, most of the food trucks charge about two dollars to use a credit card (not even a percent a flat fee) so I went through most of my cash here. The main problem is when I was a child the State Fair in Detroit was huge, an epic yearly event I looked forward to. They had multiple buildings for selling art, seeing animals, a very large variety of rides and games and even more interesting food. The food trucks were the same ones from all of the summer art fairs, nothing special. Just hot dogs, pizza, and funnel cakes. I even confirmed with my parents that the fair was really large on a nice size property. While it was more convenient for me to drive 20 minutes to the fair, I miss the Detroit location and do not understand what happened. It is a shame. But, as I mentioned, we did have so much fun. We did spent hours on end doing all of the activities, eating, shopping, seeing animals. When we went there were really small crowds, so we could do things multiple times. We had no problem with too many people. My kid really enjoyed it because this is the only state fair here. I would probably go again next year if they price is the same. But many of the other reviewers are correct and perhaps there is a better fair in Michigan to go to, or maybe just visit Michigan Adventure if you want some good food and rides. It costs a bit cheaper to go there for a Cedar Point type experience instead.

In the university, there are several museums is free to public. Those are students and teachers…read morecontributed result. This is two floors building. The collection is huge. The entrance is mammoth animal bones. The upper floor has pterosaurs with flying wing. The collection includes sea creatures, land animals and predators, small animals and more. The visit takes place 1.5 hours. But it has a lot to offer. Definitely is must visit museum in the university.

This was a fun place to walk around and escape the heat! It is also great for kids as there are a lot of exhibitions and hands on experiments they can partake in. I enjoyed watching videos about the birds as I recently got into birding and seeing the various displays they had. There are 4 floors, a gift shop, plenty of bathrooms, plenty of places to sit and rest, and it's all free!

The staff was great! Very friendly and helpful and if anything went wrong with the game, they were johnny-on-the-spot taking care of it. They also offered food and drinks outside in the pavilion area. Just a fantastic nostalgia event for those that love to play pinball! I can't wait for the next one!!

Plymouth seems to always have fun activities for their residents and guests too…read more They have scarecrows all dolled up around the main Central Park in town. Many local businesses commissioned a IG or selfie worthy scarecrows. Some are humbly done and others are more ornate, much like the ice festivals. It's a nice block to check out and take a stroll too. Be sure to grab a lovely gourmet hot chocolate and take a turn in the park.

The Plymouth Fall festival is an annual fun family time. We went a few times throughout the…read moreweekend. The photos were from our hours at the country music concert. There's always much family, fun & food at the Fall Festival. There are some fun craft and artist booths to browse through too. Each year we say "goodbye" to some favorites and we welcome some new artists as well. On Sunday we returned for the amazing annual Rotary club chicken Dinner! We got chicken, corn on cob & potato chips & a cookie. The chicken is always awesome & tasty! We love this annual event, along with the great people watching! The bands this year were exceptional and people were even dancing with their dogs! I should have gotten a video because it was so much fun to see this one guy dancing on the lawn with his Great Dane! We saw that man who dresses up like Abraham Lincoln too! The weather was great and a great time was had by all! Thank you to the city of Plymouth for having these great functions & getting families to make memories together. See you next year!!

Two words: Demolition. Derby…read more Old, painted, beat up cars crash into each other in a mud pit for prize money and your amusement. Oh, there's also a fair with a few rides and carnival food but the real star is the derby. I went for the first time tonight and now I'm absolutely hooked. When the fair is in town it's a must. Get a funnel cake and pull up a piece of bleacher and watch some cars get smashed!

No alcohol allowed! But snacks and NA drinks are ok. They have a concession stand or you can order pizza from inside the arena. Port a potties are available unless you want to walk in the arena. While the front rows are reserved for cars and the further rows for SUVs and trucks, it can still be difficult to see if you have a big vehicle in front of you. Occasionally, someone will also leave their headlights on. I found that prices have risen since I last visited, but it's still a great deal for a fun night!

They allow you to bring your own snacks and (non-alcoholic) beverages and the spaces are large enough to accommodate camp chairs if you prefer not to sit in your car. We ended up throwing a bunch of throw pillows in the trunk and had a great experience. There is a concession stand and the restaurant in the hockey facility allows you to order food, which we did. The food wasn't impressive and was fairly overpriced for what it was, but they had many options, just not very much for dietary restrictions, so definitely recommend bringing some snacks/eating beforehand. From the perspective of urban planning, this is such an ingenious use of a parking lot that otherwise doesn't get as much use in the summer months. We love land uses that create space for people to gather and enjoy entertainment without having to change the overall location!
