TLB is founded and owned by women of color - designed for my color! Yay! Their products are 100% vegan, cruelty free and paraben free. The mission on this day was to purchase royal blue eyeliner and mascara. Mission accomplished! I got the Straight Coolin' eye liner which is soft and easily applied. I also got the Somethin' Blue volumizing mascara. I would love to return to have my makeup done for a special occasion. Note: This is a cashless business. Also, for purchases over $20 they will validate your parking with Metropolis garages. I already loved the Lip Bar and I didn't think a real life location would make that much of a difference for me, but.... oops. It's perfect! Everyone inside is so knowledgeable and they really know how to help you pick a color that suits you, and the wall of samples to swatch is incredible. It's a tiny shop but it feels spacious and luxe. I tried on my sample gloss to wear around town and felt like the coolest person on the street for a few hours, which is rarely a feeling I have, haha. I am a fan of their products and was getting ready to purchase some product online but, since I live in the Metro-Detroit area and had never been to the store-I decided to hop in my car and head there instead. It was a very pleasant experience. The sales person that helped me was efficient and spot/on with the selections she helped me make. I was in/out in no time. I will say the store was dimly lit and small. I think changing the lighting may make the space feel bigger and/or they should have different types of lights so you can see what your make-up choice looks like in all lighting conditions. This didn't detract from my experience-just thought it was worth mentioning. I also enjoyed checking out a nearby restaurant and coffee shop. Downtown Detroit is a whole vibe.
