I'm biased toward the Community Health Network, after I received such superb care during my brief hospital stay at Community Hospital South; their network is also less expensive than Franciscan. So: Location. Right next to the freeway exit (465 & Washington Street E) -- easy to get to. Dedicated parking lot, and easy to drop patients off at the front door. Facilities: Clean, comfortable, roomy waiting area. Friendly and efficient front desk staff. Plenty of available masks & hand sanitizer. Waiting area easy to socially distance. Chairs comfortable. Experience making appointment: Courteous receptionist who helped me immediately, and offered two back-to-back appointments (for myself and His Goatness) within four days of my call. Appointments can be booked online, as well, for existing patients. Filling out forms/receiving results/payment: ALL available online, and easy to navigate. Received access to my visit summary within three hours. Received access to my labwork as soon as it was reviewed by the pathologist. Reminders for treatments/diagnostics due show up on the app as well -- makes it easy to keep track of ongoing care. Medical staff: Samoyia, the nurse, was friendly, efficient, and helpful. Dr. Zachary Crowell, new to the practice, was logical, organized, and pleasant, spending all the time needed to sort and make sense of my medical history and needs. He made two referrals to deal with my current needs, all within the same network -- I received callbacks and made appointments before the day was over. I'm going to enjoy working with the both of them, going forward! Bonus: During hours/days the Family Practice is closed, there is an in-network urgent care and lab facility *right downstairs.* Appointments can be either walk-in or booked online.

Staff were consistently chit chatting instead of putting patients first, sometimes even WHILE taking care of patients. Overall lacking basic professionalism. My physician took 45 minutes to enter my room, after a two hour lobby wait and lacked even the most basic social skills. Didn't even introduce himself. I had to wait another 15 minutes just to get my paperwork so I could finally leave. Worst healthcare experience I have ever had, and I have to deal with the FAA. I'll never be going back.

Relating to a patient is very important in the medical field. If it's not empathy, it should certainly be sympathy. My biggest peeve with doctors in the past has been them primarily being very short with their time and attention to my needs and medical concerns. I don't like to be treated like cattle, and certainly not like I am a dime a dozen. I don't get that treatment at all with this practice. You get that feeling of trust and peace of mind when you see Dr. Grant. An extra shout out go to the other office staff that work at the Community Southside Pavillon - from the nurses to the front office reception staff. They are all super friendly and welcoming. It's not an act. They are professional, and they are for real (genuine). A big bonus that this practice offers is that they are open on Saturdays until noon. Maybe I'm just used to urgent care clinics in NYC being dreadful, but I had a positive experience with everyone in this office. I walked in around 11:30am on a Thursday and waited a max of five minutes after checking in. The lady at the front desk, Hannah, was polite and friendly and the clinic itself is modern and clean. Once I went back, a nurse did my intake for a couple minutes and then another medical provider (I can't remember his name but he was a man) came back for my appointment. After a couple minutes of talking, my concern was addressed and I was on my way. I felt heard and that he cared. I don't currently have insurance so a basic visit is $110 cash. If you need tests, it can get a little bit more expensive, but my particular visit was pretty cut and dry. Really convenient option for a quick healthcare visit in the Greenwood area. I wouldn't hesitate to come back if needed.

I retired from the Army in 1997. I served in Airborne Special Operations for many of those years…read more On one airborne mission my parachute didn't open and I hit the ground REALLY hard. Needless to say I survived, but I suffer today with pain from the injuries I got from that mission. The medical staff at Roudebush veterans hospital are helpful and do their best to alleviate my pain. Over the years I've gotten better, but I've realized I won't completely recover. You learn to live with that. I volunteered to do the hard stuff and I had a blast doing it. It just happened to bite back, but I'd give anything to be young again so I could do it all over. My hip incurred some long term damage from the parachute accident, so I recently had it replaced. The hospital staff was great and not only prepared me for surgery, but gave outstanding care during the recovery period. The physical therapist gave me helpful exercises to accelerate my recovery and it worked perfectly. The whole process was exceptional. Just FYI.....parking is a scarce commodity there, but eventually you'll find spot. It's always nice to encounter other veterans while there. Their encouragement always helps.
