About six years ago, I was having trouble with the garage door opener in my home. It was not working correctly and I'm certain that it was not that old. I did a search here and decided to give Little Guy a try. He was able to diagnose the problem but that particular unit had to be replaced unfortunately. Ever since he did that it's been working great and even better than the previous unit. Then, about three months ago, the unit started opening arbitrarily after it had closed around every fifth try. Most odd. This went on and on until I finally decided to call Little Guy again. He showed up on a Saturday even though I stressed this was not an emergency of any type. He made a few adjustments and it is back to working grades again. The chain on our garage door broke and needed repair. I called Horizon Garage door repair and they sent out a repairman. He took apart the opener and saw that it was not a standard size, stated he couldn't fix and scurried out the door, leaving the opener disassembled on the floor. I heard a large BOOM Saturday morning!!! It turns out, the coil on our garage door split in half; we could not even lift the door manually, so we were totally STRANDED! I phoned my warranty company to file a claim, and they explained that their contractors had up to 48 hours to contact us. Well, under NORMAL circumstances, I totally understand that, however in the event someone in our home had an emergency, we could not get our cars out of the garage.
