Very nice restaurant serving excellent food. Service was outstanding. Escargot was excellent as was the duck and filet. Highly recommend.

There are problems, problems with the restaurant my stomach could not handle the filling foods. i wanted to order the whole menu but unfortunately there was so much space in my sto Mach. 5000+ aura points

What a hidden gem! This cute restaurant is located right next to Darling Harbour but away from all the tourist traps. We find a voucher on Groupon and decided to try it out. Once inside we checked in for our reservation and were seated immediately. We ordered a mock-tail and well as a cocktail. Both were very tasty and brought out fairly fast. For our entrees (appetizers) we ordered the escargot and the mushroom leek crepe. The crepe I didn't try however my partner seemed to love it. However the escargot was PHENOMENAL! Such a delicious amount of garlic which you can dip the two pieces of bread afterwords in to make your own garlic break...thank me later ;) For our mains I ordered the duck while my partner ordered beef. Both dishes were presented beautifully and were accompanied by a delicious sauce and side. My favorite part of the duck was the crispy skin which was seasoned so wonderfully. For dessert we both goth the sticky date pudding. With every bite we were impressed. The dessert was sweet but not overly sweet. The ice cream adds the perfect touch. Definitely recommend this place and I hope to be back soon!

Since we ate during their dinner hours, we were given the $60 3 course menu. Which I find is a good deal, considering on their A La Carte menu for example, a main dish can be about $32+. My favourite dish of the night, would be their herb-infused, garlic buttered Escargots De Bourgogne... Full review: purplecuriosity.wordpress.com/2016/05/14/4455/

Pretentious. Nice view. Classy. Calamari was the highlight. Firm not chewy. Thick cut. Delicious in the sauce. The escargot was very buttery, cooked well. However I have had better. Pate was plentiful. Too much we couldn't eat it all. Great flavor. Requested extra bread. The veal was so good! Topped with a creamy mushroom sauce, enough to cover every nite. Very rich. Meat was tender. This is the type of establishment that waits till you've finished your course before they move on to the next. Be sure to tell your server you are ready if your plates still appear to be full. The server had a French accent. There was conversation amongst the table if it was real or not lol. I believe it was, and really did add to the authenticity of the restaurant.

The two of us were on a voucher which saves about 50%. The menu choice is the $60pp. We had three courses. The snails were good although I was missing two out of the shell. Goodness knows where they went. The other entree was salmon roulade and it was very nice. The salmon for main meal was just that and needed a side which was extra. The seafood platter was good as it was. Dessert was just one profiterole. Again good. I had the ice cream which was probably better if you wanted a bit more. As we had lunch we were happy for the size of the servings but if you are after huge servings, this isn't the place. It was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday lunch and not all were cheapskates like us on a voucher. The service was very good and the quality and presentation of the food was excellent. If you compare the same meals over the period of time it has been Yelped the meals are very consistent. It is very close to the Pyrmont Bay light rail and opposite to Maritime Museum.

The escargot would have been the signature dish and worth to try. We brought the Groupon deal and service was very friendly, tho very Frenchs accent made us a bit confused. The duck pate was good, tho we've tasted better. But the duck canard.. Omg. Simply delicious. The place itself is comfy. Wld've been great to have it looked more 'Frenchy', but understandable that the hotel concrete structure would limit this option and cannot make it more vintage. Overall, would recommend to try. We got a good experience with the Groupon deal which makes it very good value for money.

So I got a little bit of mixed reviews here! First the restaurant itself and the atmosphere was lovely and we were sitting facing darling harbour :-) the service was great and they were all very friendly and all smiles. The entrée came out quick but it took a little long for the main. We had the escargots for entrée. I loved them, for me it was seasoned and cooked well the garlic butter was great. To my partner it was a little under seasoned. My 8 yr old also shared with us as he loves escargots and he quite enjoyed them. The kids took calamari and chips, it's a bit of a big serve, they really liked the calamari and finished it but the chips was a little undercooked but still they ate them but they didn't like the sauce (I tasted it and didn't like the sauce either). For main, I had Magret de Canard (duck) it was cooked to perfection, tasted great and skin seasoned well but wasn't crispy as it indicated, and I can do without the sweet sauce on top, the spinach was nice. My partner had the seafood platter, he liked it but didn't love it, he said it was also under seasoned. Found a small part of a beard in one of the mussels, he loved the salmon and said the skin was crisp but he wanted a bigger portion of it! LOL For desert the kids had the profiteroles, they loved it but didn't really like the custard and one of them left it aside (I tasted it I just had to! lol) the choux pastry was fantastic, it was done very well. I had the chocolate mouse. Now just to give you an idea, I have a really really sweet tooth (I have up to 4 spoons of sugar in my coffee and eat a lot of chocolate a day!!), but the mouse was way too sweet for me so I believe for a normal palate they'll find it way too sweet to finish. My partner had the Fourme D'ambert, which is weird as he doesn't like blue cheese but he enjoyed it :-) Overall the positives really outweighs the small (I wouldn't call it negatives) hiccups. We enjoyed it and would go back.

Exceptional little restaurant in a convenient location. A short walk away from the Convention light rail station and The Harbourside mall, the Little Snail offers 3-course lunch and dinner options. The menu is distinctly French with an Australian twist, and an extensive wine list to match. The calamari was delicious, tender and crispy. The veal and the lamb were also great options. The portions are quite generous and the 3 courses are plenty to fill up hungry adults.

    My delicious creamy Pate :-)

I love The Little Snail. The three course meal is a steal. This is my 4th time here and it never disappoints. The food is fresh and the meat is exquisite. I would recommend this place to everyone. Escargot was delicious and pate was so creamy. My kangaroo was deliciously rare and cooked to perfection. I love it when they know how to cook kangaroo. The sticky date dessert to die for.

Escargot, unfortunately the garlic they used had no flavour

A pleasant experience. The quality of the food was near top notch and the service was similar. The only gripe I had with the meals was the garlic used was so weak, I couldn't taste any of it. I could see it and chew the garlic pieces but there was no garlic flavour in the Escargot. The leak crépe was amazing, as well as the seafood plate and the duck breast. The salmon was cooked perfectly as well as the beef. The desserts were all perfect. The best in my opinion was the sticky date pudding.

Went on Boxing Day with the in-laws and purchased the set lunch menu. 3 courses included. The food was nice and the dessert the most impressive. I would say it is not really a French restaurant, while some menu items resemble French cuisine such as snails and duck breast, they are more along the lines of mod oz. My snails in garlic smelt amazing and the texture was dine but the actual garlic flavor did not really match the aromaS the duck was tender and sauce substantial, and the dessert was divine. Would definitely go again if I wanted to take someone out in the area for safe food that everyone can eat.

Scored the groupon deal, $79 three-course dinner for two which is originally $60 per person The food came out extremely quickly, which gives me the impression that it's pre-made and just sitting in the kitchen. They're probably able to pull this off because of the 2000+ groupons that have been sold as of right now of their set menu. Dishes came out luke warm, so it could have been a little better. I had the escargot as a starter, nice flavor but needed a little salt then they were perfect. I dipped the two small pieces of bread in the garlic butter sauce and I wanted more!! For the main I had the crispy duck breast, not sure if there was crisp on the skin but the raspberry sauce went extremely well with the duck! Again, had to add a little salt on the duck and some salt and pepper to the spinach and it was really good. The highlight of my night would have to be the dessert, and I'm not a huge dessert fan. I ordered the warm sticky date pudding with vanilla ice cream and butterscotch sauce. This was perfect! Well actually it could have been warmer but the taste was perfect! Not too sweet but sweet enough. The service was nice and friendly, although we felt a little awkward just leaving the table after we were done because they took our groupon when we entered the restaurant so there was no bill at the end. Verdict- will be craving the sticky date pudding for a while

So I did! They don't take reservations for their 5-6pm happy hour. You can only line up at 5pm when they open. We got there right before 5pm, and there were probably 10 to 12 people in line. Once the doors opened we were led downstairs to the bar area. It's a very dark, and feels like you've been transported to another time and place. We decided to try one of each of the food items on the happy hour: - Duck Parfait - Good. Classic French item and they do it well. - Brandade d'anguilles fumée - OK. I know it's eel, but wasn't very distinct from any other fish. My least favourite dish. - Saucisson Sec - Good. Simple. - Fleur de Courgette - Very good. Delicate and delicious. I should've ordered two of these. - Normandy Burger - Very good. The one item my friends raved about, and it was clear why. A burger with the best ingredients is hard to matched. I got the extra side of fries which is equally good. Best dish of the meal. Service was relatively good, except at one point they asked if I wanted mayo for my fries (very French) and I said yes, but it never came. Other than that, quite good. This was easily my favourite meal of my trip, holding up to high expectations. I would return on my next trip to Sydney.

I highly recommend getting here early to get a seat during Happy Hour and stay after to enjoy some live jazz after 6PM. The restaurant was easy to locate with a sign upfront. The entrance is just a door in the wall with spiraling stairs leading you to an underground jazz bar and restaurant. It's upscale and romantic, but several other people were dressed casually. We sat on a shared table with three other strangers until we ordered off the full menu and our Chicken Fricassée arrived. The service is top notch and everyone was attentive, polite, and kind. We started off with the happy hour menu and ordered the Duck Parfait. I didn't know what to expect. The croutons were crispy and delicate and the duck liver was easy to spread and airy. The Normandy Burger was juicy and the bread was fluffy. But the star of the night Chicken Fricassée - wow! Incredibly tender, juicy, and garlicy. The sauce had a mashed potato buttery, smooth texture. Absolute must get.

Menu looked fantastic and I can't stop thinking about it, so I made a reservation. Since my favourite French restaurant closed last year, I've been on the lookout for a new favourite, this could be it. A glass of sparkling on arrival and a friendly smile, enough to make a great first impression before our amuse bouche arrived, Escargot with Garlic & Parsley Butter. Definitely a great start! We didn't have to wait long before the first course arrived, Sydney Rock Oysters with Sauce Mignonette. Vinegar with mince eschallots made great accompaniment to the freshly shucked oysters. Black Truffle & Mushroom Veloute with Crumbed Quail Egg is creamy and earthy with perfectly cooked crumbed quail egg added necessary texture to the dish. Pan Fried Pancetta Rolled Scallop with Foie Gras, Fennel Remoulade, Lemon & Lime Vinaigrette was excellent. This was my favourite dish of the night. It was sublime. Everything on the plate complemented each other and the foie gras added complexity to the dish. Kimchi, Tofu, Ham Hock Terrine with Apple, Ssamjang Chutney, Sesame Leaf & Nashi Pear Walnut Salad was fresh and a great follow up after a heavy meal, a palate cleanser before our next heavy meal. But the highlight and my husband's favourite dish of the night was Grilled Eye Fillet of Beef with Basil Pistou & Jus. Perfectly seared sous vide beef so tender it felt like butter when you cut through it. It left an impression on my husband so big he seriously contemplating on buying a sous vide machine to try and recreate it. Just when we thought they can't go any better than this, desserts came. I had the Passionfruit and Plum Creme Brulée with its perfectly cracked caramelised sugar topping added extra crunch. I can't really taste the plum though, but found generous amount of Passionfruit inside the Brulée. My husband chose the Apple Tarte Tatin, Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream & Salted Crumbed and I can tell you he kept telling how happy he was that he chose it for his dessert. The proof is in the pudding, or in this case the Tarte Tatin as he scraped clean his plate within minutes of consuming it. Great timing on the delivery for each course. The matching wines I had with my meals were greatly matched. All that combined with intimate ambience and friendly staff definitely completed a pleasant dining experience.
