The cleanup was done, but over a dozen very tall 50'-70' trees were in disrepair. I called Gary as this is one of his specialties. He sent a two man crew and in a full day of climbing, most of the limbs were repaired in order to produce new growth in 2013. They still are a shadow of there former selves, but I am hopeful the expert pruning will help aid in their recovery. Gary is a very trustworthy and professional. I would have no problem recommending his company for any variety of landscaping services.

Kirk reassured me it was safe for at least a few years. Well, last week, just 10 months later, I turned the corner to park in my driveway and there was a massive 30-foot limb that fell from the tree. My neighbor told me it had JUST fallen, meaning it missed crushing the car with me and my child in it by mere seconds. I called Kirk to complain and ask that he trim back any additional problematic limbs free of charge. Instead, he left a $4800 quote to entirely remove a tree he had said was fine 10 months before. When I called him to talk about it, he was patronizing and rude and told me I needed to "research the weather." Then the kicker: "You seem upset," he said. "Why don't you have your husband call me?" Kirk, bro, it's 2026. Women are no longer hiring men who speak to them that way.

Went with Lopez Landscaping since they had the smaller equipment and manpower to get the job done. The tree was quickly removed but it was a 3 star maybe 3.5 star experience because of the additional work needed to coordinate everything. The good: - competitive quote and they were able to come by quickly to assess the work - flexible in bringing equipment that worked with tight openings - main tree removal was done in 5 hours - removed paver stones so they wouldn't be damaged by machinery - friendly and professional. They accommodated a special request to cut a section for a table The bad: - rescheduling was a huge pain. We had to go back and forth for 3 weeks and I had to proactively follow up to confirm if they were coming - unable to grind the stump as part of the initial quote so had to pay another $400 for them to come back with a different machine - never got an invoice despite asking for one multiple times To summarize, this seems to be a nice family business that has experience removing trees quickly. However, it doesn't appear there is a back office that keeps everything organized so you're going to have to do a lot of work to stay on top of things.
