This review has been way too long in the waiting. We were in a very stressful situation of having looked online at houses for a few years and having dwindled down our house search to the Portland area. Through word-of-mouth, we were referred over to Joe Liu who had sold two of our friends' properties. He immediately referred us over to Ashley who was on the selling end and what a fantastic experience from beginning to end! We started out receiving their automated listings specified to our specs (which we had adjusted through a long time of using other online real estate websites). We looked through these and adjusted them before meeting Ashely in person at which point we dove right into house shopping. We didn't know how long it would take to find our home -- a few months? A year? With Ashley's incredible hard work meeting us everywhere and making sure homes were open for viewing, very genuine personality and honest opinion, we managed to find a house more quickly than we would have fathomed possible! I loved how she didn't waste our time and was never condescending or dismissive of our demanding and sometimes conflicting parameters (i.e. my husband wanted big acreage, I wanted to a shorter commute to downtown, etc). I was incredibly anxious during the offer/negotiation/closing process, but more than anybody else we had to work with during this time, Ashley really helped calm my nerves and stay steady through discussing what the seller wanted to repairs we would realistically have to consider and budget. While this was our first home, I had been through the home-buying process with my mother and several agents, and Ashley is competitive with the best of them. We've now lived in our perfect dream house for ~3 months and we are sooooo in love with it. Heck, even our 2-year-old daughter fell in love with Ashley. If you looked up "realtor's worst nightmare", I'm pretty sure that you'd find a picture of me! I was the perfect combination of super picky and super wishy-washy throughout the whole process of looking for places. He probably showed me...30 or so homes in the Beaverton area. I even wound up putting an offer down on one, got it accepted, and then backed out at the last minute. Stressful time...I'm surprised he didn't just drop me then! Through all of this though, Joe was always an absolute professional, very nice, and extremely helpful. Joe and his team helped us find and buy our first home in a process that was pretty much as smooth and as good as I could have ever imagined. During the "search phase", they were in constant communication and provided suggestions that were spot on with our very long wish list. We only had to see a few houses (all were great options) before we found "the one". Throughout the shopping process, the showing agent was really flexible with our busy schedules, and very friendly, not pushy or overbearing. Once we found our home, we were advised that we had to act quickly because the property was highly sought after (there were 4 total offers), so in just 2 days, I think Joe and his team were able to quickly arrange 3 or 4 different visits for us so that we could make sure we were ready to move forward. From there, Joe's team skillfully guided us through each step of the home buying process, answering our many questions (at all hours of the day) while being extremely timely, objective, and positive. The closing process was great, but I should add that it does take a commitment from all parties involved (including my partner and I) to ensure that everything goes well. That means we as home buyers also had to do our own in depth research and make every effort to carefully review and sign documents as they were presented to us. There was one tiny hiccup with a more complicated contract issue....Joe's expert team took the extra step to try and get us additional protection, but unfortunately, the sellers were unwilling to agree. Despite that, we appreciated the effort put forth. Once the deal was closed, Joe and his team stayed in touch with us to make sure that we were happy in our new home.
