We came here for a couple 90 minute massages and LOVED our time here. The spa area is lovely with a little courtyard for relaxing afterwards. The changing area includes a sauna and showers with shoes/robes/toiletries provided. The staff was absolutely wonderful. My massage with Juniper was outstanding and every bit of relaxing that I had hoped for. She had a magic touch! I had the absolute best prenatal massage at the Living Spa at Monte Segrado. The massage therapist was so thoughtful about getting me situated comfortably and really read the vibe for chatting and then enjoying the silence/rest. She also was great about responding to pressure change requests. I really consideration for the temperature settings as well. I wish I could remember her name, she was so great, if I come up with it then I will definitely update this review. I really enjoyed my maluca honey facial too, excellent aesthetician. Such a beautiful place to relax, recharge and rejuvenate! On this trip, we were lucky enough to have a spa right on the premises of the resort we were staying at. This spa is all about focusing on your well being. They only use natural and organic products and it is located within the El Monte Sagrado Resort. We were greeted warmly by the staff and taken to our respective dressing rooms where we put on our robes. Then we were led to this gorgeous, New Mexican style treatment room which I really never wanted to leave. As we entered, the vibe of the room was so peaceful and welcoming. The stone adobe fireplace was just exquisite and so authentic. Our first treatment was a couples soak inside a Japanese style cedar tub. The water was piping hot but felt so good to just relax in this tub. There was ice water with lemon near by in case you became too warm and needed a refreshing cup of water. This treatment prepared us for our individual treatments and lasted thirty minutes. My husband had decided on the Towel Infusion Treatment which is detoxifying and relaxing. He had climbed Wheeler Peak the day before so his muscles were aching. Steaming hot towels and therapeutic hot packs are combined with essential oils and placed on the body. This was a 90 minute treatment. He told me that it was the perfect treatment for him and helped his body recover from his massive climb to the summit. I opted for the Talistone Massage. The first thing you do is select your talistone. I chose the coyote and by selecting this stone, it became the core of this unique treatment. The idea is to set an intention with your stone and the therapist is to help this intention come to fruition with this massage. The treatment is a combination of hot river stones, gemstones and plant extracts that are integrated into the massage. Although I was hoping my therapist was a little more in tune with her spirituality, she wasn't. Thus the reason for four stars instead of five. I will say that this treatment was stress reducing and comfortable. After both treatments, we sat around and enjoyed some tea, coffee and just talked together. I then had a pedicure scheduled and hubby headed back to the room. The Living Spa offers so many incredible and unique treatments but it is pricey. There were so many other treatments I wanted to try but there just wasn't enough time. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you happen to stay at this resort, be sure to sign up for some time here at their spa. Even if you just use the hydrotherapy tubs, the hot tub or the saltwater pool it is definitely a pleasurable experience. read more

Beautiful spa and wonderful couples massage. My husband and I enjoyed this place while in Taos. We did not stay at the hotel, but did use the spa. I will warn you that it is really hard to find the spa in the hotel, and we actually had to ask staff (and they had to walk us there). There is almost no signage. It is a sanctuary back there though! Quiet, beautiful and the facilities have a shared dry sauna (which is nice for couples). The massages were perfect. The masseuses really listened and applied the right pressure. We do couples massages everywhere and this place was one of the best. Worth the price! Wonderful treasure in Taos. read more

I was excited to go to The Living Spa after reading it is one of the best in the nation. It did not disappoint! We enjoyed some time in the dry sauna, the steam room, and other parts of the spa before our treatments. We then enjoyed a private soak which helped us fully relax and prepare mentally for a massage. I had a deep tissue massage by Nancy while my partner had a Swedish massage by Laurie. Both women were absolutely incredible! It was one of the best massages I've ever had!!! The front staff was incredibly thorough, thoughtful, and warm. The facility from the locker room, the various spa rooms, and property was immaculate. We left feeling fully relaxed and it was one of the highlights of our trip. It was such a lovely time that we can't wait to come back! read more

Relaxing and beautiful spa! Very helpful and gracious front desk. My massage therapist, Jesse gave me a truly restorative Swedish massage. She listened to my requests for extra attention to my neck and scalp. I felt truly calm and cared for. Memorable massage. The facilities are lovely and Taos inspired decor, with a splash of Buddha:) Ok, now the reason only 4 stars. The day I was there was very busy and they were out of lockers for ladies. "We can use the men's lockers. Don't worry, we have 0 guys scheduled today." Ok. Things were fine until after my fabulous massage. My calm body and fuzzy mind walked back to the lockers, filled with mindfulness and happiness. Only to run into a dude as I opened the door to the men's room :-( After felling the super friendly front desk person, she apologized and went to make sure there were no other men lurking unexpectedly in the men's locker room. All clear, so I grabbed my things as fast as possible - this killing my massage buzz:-( Guess what!! Another dude walked in from the sauna and was shocked to see a woman in the men's locker room . I apologized and left with my clothes and bag tucked under my arm and left quickly. The Living Soa has so much going for it. Just need to expand to handle the demsnd. Otherwise, wonderful! read more

Vacationed at a home outside of Taos for the week, so we didn't stay at the hotel, but man are we glad we stopped by The Living Spa. Treatments include access to the pool, mens/ladies lounges, solarium, steam room and sauna. My husband and I got the 60 minute pedicure with foot scrub and soak. I also had an express manicure. Monique was fantastic. Friendly, professional, and an expert manicurist. She chatted a bit about Taos and fun things to do in town, but she also knew when we wanted to relax and close our eyes. The whole experience was lovely. I used Yelp and TripAdvisor to find this gem, so I just had to come back to leave my own 5 star review. If ever in Taos NM, The Living Spa is the place to go! It is beautiful, tranquil, clean, and absolutely a wonderful place for a pedicure. They offer other services as well and they have an indoor hot tub that clients can use. An all out wonderful experience!
