The gentleman worked on the lock for 20 minutes and successfully got the tool chest open (the lock was stubborn but we found the keys inside). He charged me hardly anything for the job but I left him a nice tip because there's something to be said for working with people who really enjoy their job. They were prompt, courteous and helpful beyond expectations. It was a real pleasure and a surprisingly painless, happy ending to a frustrating problem. =)

When I arrived at their current location there was one person in front of me, waiting for his job to be finished. At one point, a lady walked out of a back room, picked something up, and, ignoring me as well, went back to where she had come from. The bearded guy doing the work never looked at me at any time while I was there. After a few minutes of no looking/no conversation with me, I climbed back up their 14 outside steps and drove down Harmony to Ace Hardware. As usual, someone greeted me at the door and directed me to the key cutting area. I waited there for a few minutes (the guy was busy), then a lady came out and asked what she could do for me. I gave her my two keys and she knocked them out pretty quick, charging about 20% more than Key Lock did, but I had no complaints. The job was done and I could go home and get lunch.

I did a search on Yelp and submitted a project request for quotes from a few locksmith businesses, crossing my fingers that I could get my door unlocked without me being home so I didn't have to wait outside in the cold for someone to come by. Daniel was willing to help do this, he was quick and communicative, and we were able to coordinate everything all through text! I asked for a photo of the open door to confirm the work was done and then was able to pay via Venmo. He even said hello to my cat while dealing with the door. :) I have an in-home camera so was able to monitor the door and know that no funny business went on while I wasn't home, for anyone curious.
