The main window doesn't have curtains and the deck for the entire house is RIGHT off the suite. We were getting dressed and people are cruising by for breakfast. The cottages seem private though. If you want to stay in a beautiful, quiet cabin with plush beds, spend your nights in a secluded hot tub overlooking the cove and be fawned over by a loving homeowner like visiting family, this is the place for you. Chris, the owner, REALLY WILL LOVE YOU TO DEATH aha. this woman welcomes you into her home, either in the main house or the cabins, and i can see that being invasive for some people. that is something that must be made clear as while entirely loveable and darling, if you are a more reserved/cold/private person, you may feel a little offput. you may want a more hotel atmosphere. But this woman, in her mothering, really enhanced my stay. I'd forgotten little things (sensible shoes, being one) and she managed to outfit me entirely in waterproof gear, clearly excited to be useful. At one point, she jumped the gun on us and went ahead and booked a Zipline experience at the near by Adrenaline Zipline. While blindsided, we had been procrastinating, frankly, and that ended up being the highlight of the trip. So yes, Chris is a very involved presence, and I'm sure that's not for everyone. She does respect boundaries of course, but gets carried away like a mother would. I'm sure she'd have taken dirt off my cheek if the chance arrived. She'd give you the clothes of her back if you needed it. The breakfasts are great and she stresses to keep them different every day, as well as providing a wide array of daily trimmings like fruit salads, granola, cinnamon buns to pick at. She starts cooking when you enter the room regardless of when you said you'd like breakfast, so if you want to start your day early, make sure she understands the time constraint. The cabins are neat as a pin, the beds are large and far to comfortable if you plan to be at all productive and have patios overlooking the gorgeous cove. Seals and rabbits made plenty of appearances. The other guests caught salmon nearby, and we had a barbecue and had a night filled with beer, wine and laughter. making friends was unexpected, but Moonlit Cove has this way of making everyone feel at ease. Chris acts like she's known you for years, and you leave feeling the same. Would definitely return.

I wanted to gut-check our plan to take the ferry from Seattle, use Uber to get to their hotel (and could we please leave our luggage up front since we'd arrive before check in? - to which the answer was, "of course you can!"), and then use Uber all around town. The very pleasant woman I spoke with (those months before arriving) assured me that our plan should work splendidly, and they looked forward to having us. Upon arrival, we were greeted by two of the nicest front desk people, who took our luggage for storage, then found our room had indeed been cleaned as early as possible and was in fact ready for us for early check in immediately! The property itself is reminiscent of a period of taste and attention to detail that seldom exists any more. Our room was beautiful: spacious, with two separate bathroom sinks and a separate jetted tub and walk-in shower, plus a small sitting area and plenty of space! So nicely appointed with everything in its place, and everything working. The entire lobby and library/lounge area was also beautifully appointed, and so homey and inviting. And breakfast - included with the room - was elaborate and scrumptious. Each day features both sweet and savory options; for example, pancakes, or eggs and bacon. My wife and I got one of each and shared them. It was all delectable. And each day's menu, specially prepared and printed for that day, includes a weather forecast for the day - even with temperatures in both Celsius and Fahrenheit! We had such a wonderful stay that we hated to leave. We'd look forward to visiting Victoria again and would definitely choose Abigail's hotel again!!

The Library was a great quiet location, the room (Opal room) was comfortable, large, and provided greaat views out the many windows of the trees around the building. We particuly enjoyed breakfasts offered. Different each day, the quality was excellent as was fresh brewed coffee. Given the number of guests and limited dining room space for tables, the hotel requested us to pick a timeframe to dine so that the pace for table availabilty and meals were manageable. We chose 8:30A and we arrived each day with 10 minutes of that time. Worked great to get a table without feeling rushed or the food delayed in arriving! And each afternoon the chef put out a nice spread of meats/cheeses sometime, and homemade soup other times. All in all a great experience!

We loved their furry/feathered friends, Butler, their cat and two Moroccan Cockatoos, Chucky and Casper! Vanessa and Dean were great about being there when we needed them for info about activities or directions, and also great about not jeopardizing our privacy. We stayed in the lovely Lavender Room for 4 wonderful nights. We really enjoyed having the garden patio at our disposal since the nights were worth sitting out in. We lit some tea lights, and enjoyed some cold beverages by starlight. It is an older house, so there was no A/C and the room could get hot and stuffy during the day, but with the door or window cracked open a bit, and a small fan running, we always got a cool enough ocean breeze at night to keep us happy. There was a TV in the room with cable and a built in DVD player on the side. Down in the entrance in the Harry Potter computer nook we found the internet provided was fast and dependable. Since we are young and wild and had no idea when we would be coming or going at night we were relieved to find that you have your own key code so it wasn't an issue and we didn't disturb the hosts or any other guests. The B&B is within walking distance to many shops, Fisherman's Wharf, and downtown Victoria. Vanessa was an absolute doll and even packed a lunch for us since we had to catch our departing ferry at 6AM and would miss her phenomenal breakfast!! Another fun feature of the bed and breakfast is that they even have a couple friendly spirits in residence. I didn't experience them myself, but I love hearing ghost tales about old buildings. A thousand kudos to this lovely B&B! Our stay was worth every cent and more!

Vanessa and Dale are amazing hosts and run the best B&B I have ever been to. The room was clean, quite, and beautiful, the bed was amazingly comfortable, and having a small TV with cable was a nice feature usually lacking in B&B's. Wireless Internet worked perfectly and was very handy. They also had a guest computer in the main area available for use 24/7. The hotel is in a great location if you don't mind a short (8 min) walk to the inner harbor. Parking was no problem, and it is in a VERY safe neighborhood, which was nice to walk in at any time of the day. Vanessa is an AMAZING chef, her breakfasts were perfectly prepared and seasoned, pray that you get a day where she is making Eggs Benedict, which was some of the best I have ever had. The omelets were incredible, and the home-made granola was a real treat! Have Vanessa hand draw you a map of a fun drive! We went to Sooke, which was not much of a town, but had a nice little beach on a man made breaker that was a good little get-away from the city. They do not seem to view their place as a business, but rather a home that has accomodation. Not exactly a welcoming attitude. A few days after they checked out, the proprietor contacted them to say they were not welcome because one of the guests had "bled" on the sheets. Sorry but this is something that any hotelier should expect. I for one will never stay here.

The large deck and multiple seating options in the house's yard make for some good birdwatching. Smoke from the house's chimney stack blew onto the deck and into our room, both afternoons. Poor design. The kitchette is exactly that and no more. Don't expect a lot. Because we stayed over a holiday, there was no breakfast provided. No heat in the bathroom during our winter stay. No shower curtain, so it was impossible to take a shower without getting water on the floor. The main room has a queen size bed, which was uncomfortable. The twin beds were in a loft that requires using a vertical ladder to access. Not for the feint of heart, and NOT for the young or aged. Very low ceiling in the loft; impossible to stand up, once the ladder is mastered. The fireplace in our room heated the room quickly, but couldn't be adjusted. Early morning frost on the outside walkways and driveway, creating slip hazards. It was quiet. Plenty of parking.

To be honest, I wasn't that impressed with the breakfasts. It's a nice place, conveniently located. I would probably stay here again.

The few Outlets were terrible as plugs just fell out. WiFi not good. Music at breakfast, though quiet, was rock and roll or radio talk. Not relaxing at all. I thought the video advertised afternoon tea but now I can't play it to check. The cookies did not seem fresh baked daily (as I think of afternoon tea.) Also, they have Murchies tea right in town and it's so much better than Twinings! So a lot of good but I think I'd look for another place next time If I could find a place near beaconsfield Park.
