Stayed here with my husband and my mom for four nights on vacation from Oregon. A really nice hotel with a sort of Victorian ambiance. We stayed in the foxglove room that had a nice king bed, a tub, and a gas fireplace.. I will say as somebody with osteoarthritis I was challenged. There is no elevator be aware. You can't even get to the front desk on either side of the entrances because there are stairs... not great for somebody with mobility issues. So, the climb to the second floor every night and every morning was definitely not fun. The tub was also very difficult to get in and out of, however, they did offer a nice handle you could suction to the tub .the bed was very high, but it came with stools. none of this is the hotels fault however, it's something that somebody with mobility issues should be aware of.There's one section of the hotel that could be considered wheelchair accessible with an elevator, where you can enter via the dining room , but none of the other areas are... they would not be able to come and enjoy the lobby as well. The room was lovely though, I think next time I would stay on a first floor or maybe the carriage house. My mom stayed in room 2a, she loved it. The only issue we had was corrected in a very fair manner. We booked this hotel specifically because they said they could make a vegan breakfast and accommodate dietary restrictions. We confirmed several times via correspondence before our arrival. our first morning we asked for the vegan menu and the gentleman was very confused. He said we don't have a vegan menu, but it looks like the chef can make you avocado toast as your entrée.... It's as if the vegan options are really just an afterthought The second morning was even worse. We were offered buttered toast as the entrée.... You are offered a starter and some sides, but bread is not an entrée.. and the bread starters were not vegan . my husband spoke with the front desk, she was so wonderful and our next two mornings were better , with an actual vegan menu. We were also given a complementary bottle of wine upon leaving. Really appreciate the stepping up ; it can be really hard to be vegan and not be offered substantial alternatives, it makes you feel left out, embarrassed, confused and hungry. Really appreciate how they stepped up and really made it right for us . so if you're booking and you're vegan, make sure you ask them specifically for a vegan menu, and make sure they have substantial choices for you. One of our favorite brands of vegan egg is: just egg; it is widely available in the Canada area . It would be very easy for the kitchen to carry that in stock and offer vegan scrambled eggs, with a little bit of black salt(gives it that eggy flavor) , and some vegan meat options to give a wonderful scramble, maybe get some vegan cheese slices and vegan sausage and offer a breakfast sandwich. We appreciated the lobby tea options, the afternoon snacks of soup, and even the cute little gift shop . The staff was just wonderful and we definitely want to stay here again.

What a unique place to stay in Victoria. Built in the 1930s, this Tudor style hotel has 23 rooms. Check-in & check-out was smooth and friendly. Room was adorable. Older, plush furniture, yet modern comfort & linens. Treats on the bed to snack on. Wonderful three course breakfast with fresh baked goods, mimosas, etc. Sitting room/library where you can relax and have tea Adults only I missed the light evening appetizers. Short stroll to Fairmont Empress Only con we experienced, was our bathroom was tiny. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Staff very friendly and really nice! HOWEVER they forgot to tell us about the light evening appetisers so we missed out on those, also the coffee station we only found out about later in the evening when we asked where we could get coffee and reception then showed us! Breakfast sounded good! HOWEVER I do not go on holiday to be told I have to book a slot for breakfast! 7.30 or 8.30am is unreasonable, I would like to get up when I wish and go down to breakfast at my convenience! Again the staff were friendly but the food was just average! The Room and Bathroom looked good! HOWEVER the room had opaque frilly white curtains on all windows, because of the overlooking proximity of the building behind we could not open them and so had no daylight coming into the room! The Bath, nice claw foot, roll top with a glass surround and a rain shower, controls were on the wall, looks good! HOWEVER we discovered in the morning that after turning the shower on I had to shuffle back to the shower head to see if the temperature was ok! After doing this quite a few times I then tried getting in the shower, only to find actually it was too hot! So then had to shuffle backwards and forwards in the bath, hang over and alter the controls, all this without a mat which I later found on a windowsill all neatly rolled and tied as if it was a bit of decoration! I also found a leaflet for a handle that could go on the glass to keep oneself steady, only trouble was I never found the handle! As we were maybe one of the younger ones staying in this B&B/Hotel I can see a nasty accident befalling someone very soon! The hotel offered a nice dessert plate for the room, which we had! HOWEVER again this did not meet expectations and it looked nothing like the internet picture all we had was two different cakes cut into about five pieces of each and 3 chocolate dipped strawberries! Did not resemble the amazing picture!

We had a fabulous 3-night stay at Abigail's and would absolutely recommend for anyone looking for accommodations in Victoria! As the name implies, it is a bit more hotel than quaint B&B, but it certainly doesn't lack hospitality, coziness, and charm. The room was spacious and beautiful, and we especially loved the dual-facing fireplace that turned the bathroom into the coziest little reprieve at the end of the day with the massive soaking tub and rainfall shower head. The breakfasts each morning were delicious, and the pastries were so fresh and flaky and perfect! And the afternoon/evening snacks were a nice added touch too. We loved spending our evenings in the library/sitting room reading our books and enjoying some wine (which they also have a small bar with an assortment of beverages to charge to your room, although we had brought our own). Truly, the only negative thing we encountered was not having a mini-fridge in our room to store any perishable food items or leftovers from our day. I think next time, we'll know to bring a cooler. Otherwise, 10/10 recommend!

Charming B&B convenient location and excellent service. Every employee went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The breakfasts were delicious and our room was spotlessly clean. I highly recommend

If you visit Victoria, venture off the beaten path a little and stay at Abigail's! Just a 10-15 minute walk from the waterfront, Abigail's was the cutest B&B with 5-star, personalized service. From the moment we arrived, the staff was attentive and professional down to the last detail. We had a personalized welcome card in our room and piano music was playing on the room speakers when we walked in. Did I mention we also got fresh baked oatmeal raisin cookies in our room? Abigail's treats you like family, not just a hotel guest. Breakfast is served daily in their quaint breakfast room, and there's a daily menu with food options as well as a weather forecast. Coffee, tea, and hot apple cider are available in the foyer throughout the day and hors d'oeuvres are served from 4:30-6pm daily! Honestly, it felt like I was staying at a rich relative's house and I loved it. They also have a sitting room with a large couch, comfy chairs, and a TV where you can watch their selection of movies if you feel like staying in. Our room was gorgeous, as was the bathroom (which is equally important!), and we were able to walk 10 minutes to dinner each night with no trouble. The staff even offered to store our leftovers in the kitchen refrigerator since the individuals rooms don't have them. I would come back to Victoria just to stay at Abigail's again! My boyfriend and I had the most perfect, romantic weekend together!

Lovely properly with character. Charming hotel. Attentive friendly staff all around and the kitchen staff are amazing. The included and amazing made to order breakfast was prepared by the wonderful kitchen crew. Complementary afternoon mushroom soup was a delicious treat! Highly recommend this gem of a hotel!

Would give Abigail's 10 stars if I could! We stayed here over a weekend and it was delightful, even during Covid. They had great procedures in place and it felt very safe. Staff is great, food is great (breakfast in the room, wow), rooms are nice and cozy. Also very close to the city center. The bed and the robes are SO dreamy. Wish I could've taken both home with me. Can't say enough good things about this hotel! Would recommend absolutely everyone to stay here.

My husband and I stayed in the orchid suite on our honeymoon, and our time here was fantastic! This is our third trip to Victoria, and what I love about Abigail's is it is a little further east than the big touristy section, near the ferries and parliament. The hotel is in a quiet residential area, with Beacon Hill park right down the road. Beyond that is the waterfront, lovely little area to walk around. The hotel staff was very kind upon our arrival, showing us our room. We arrived to beautifully laid out extras- a bottle of champagne and roses and chocolate strawberries. The bed was so comfortable, pillows were fantastic, and the room cozy. The bathroom on its own was incredible, with a tub the both my husband and I could comfortably sit in. Afternoon snacks were included, along with a delicious breakfast. For the price, I will be coming back to this quaint little hotel.

Thank you Yelp for helping me decide to stay here, and thank you Abigail's for being HANDS DOWN AMAZING! I wandered in on a Tuesday evening after spontaneously getting on a ferry from the lower mainland. I was welcomed and shown two rooms to choose from, which is really nice and personal rather than just giving me a key, taking my money and that being the end of it. No, I was shown around the bed and breakfast, told to make myself comfortable and then come downstairs when I was ready to enjoy a beautiful spread of cheeses, dips, veggies and little sweet desserts. My room was gorgeous and had a king sized bed, a claw-foot tub, and even an ipod dock for my solo dance party. Also, you get two delicious fresh baked cookies on your pillow, AND a 3 course breakfast in the morning. I am madly in love with Abigail's and it was worth every penny. I'd come back to stay here in a heartbeat.

Wow We will be back to Abigail's anytime we are in Victoria! Great staff, food and location. The complimentary breakfast was far better than what you'd find at almost all restaurants

    Scrumptious complimentary full breakfast.

Vanessa, a professional cook and baker, made every meal with her loving care. I'm usually not a breakfast fan, but the homemade apple strudel, granola, scones, and omelets were too much to resist. If you want to feel like you're staying with friends while in Victoria, this is the place to go. Quaint decor, and great hospitality are what you'll find here. We loved their furry/feathered friends, Butler, their cat and two Moroccan Cockatoos, Chucky and Casper! Vanessa and Dean were great about being there when we needed them for info about activities or directions, and also great about not jeopardizing our privacy. We stayed in the lovely Lavender Room for 4 wonderful nights. We really enjoyed having the garden patio at our disposal since the nights were worth sitting out in. We lit some tea lights, and enjoyed some cold beverages by starlight. It is an older house, so there was no A/C and the room could get hot and stuffy during the day, but with the door or window cracked open a bit, and a small fan running, we always got a cool enough ocean breeze at night to keep us happy. There was a TV in the room with cable and a built in DVD player on the side. Down in the entrance in the Harry Potter computer nook we found the internet provided was fast and dependable. Since we are young and wild and had no idea when we would be coming or going at night we were relieved to find that you have your own key code so it wasn't an issue and we didn't disturb the hosts or any other guests. The B&B is within walking distance to many shops, Fisherman's Wharf, and downtown Victoria. Vanessa was an absolute doll and even packed a lunch for us since we had to catch our departing ferry at 6AM and would miss her phenomenal breakfast!! Another fun feature of the bed and breakfast is that they even have a couple friendly spirits in residence. I didn't experience them myself, but I love hearing ghost tales about old buildings. A thousand kudos to this lovely B&B! Our stay was worth every cent and more!

Vanessa and Dale are amazing hosts and run the best B&B I have ever been to. The room was clean, quite, and beautiful, the bed was amazingly comfortable, and having a small TV with cable was a nice feature usually lacking in B&B's. Wireless Internet worked perfectly and was very handy. They also had a guest computer in the main area available for use 24/7. The hotel is in a great location if you don't mind a short (8 min) walk to the inner harbor. Parking was no problem, and it is in a VERY safe neighborhood, which was nice to walk in at any time of the day. Vanessa is an AMAZING chef, her breakfasts were perfectly prepared and seasoned, pray that you get a day where she is making Eggs Benedict, which was some of the best I have ever had. The omelets were incredible, and the home-made granola was a real treat! Have Vanessa hand draw you a map of a fun drive! We went to Sooke, which was not much of a town, but had a nice little beach on a man made breaker that was a good little get-away from the city. I cannot say how wonderful this accommodation made our trip, truly a stellar establishment. Thanks Vanessa!!!!!!

A menu of items is provided day off, but they do an amazing job at accommodating allergies! I'm lactose sensitive (no cream, soft cheeses, etc) and they were able to accommodate this easily. I'm unsure about cross contamination if guests have severe allergies, but sure that if you call ahead of making a reservation you will know whether they can accommodate or not. The check-in process was quick and clean. There was a gentleman waiting for us near the front door. The entry door code and wifi code are provided when you book the hotel. I like this process as it furthers the feeling of staying with a family friend or relative. There is complimentary small snacks, refrigerated drinks, and hot water available throughout the day. At breakfast a carafe of coffee is brought out along with apple cider mix and tea. The room itself was gorgeous! We were in a room with the claw footed tub, amazing piece of history and (I heard) one of the most popular rooms. Ahh, Whispering Firs. A tale of two sides, if there ever was one. My wife and I stayed here…read morerecently and had some very good experiences and thoughts...but also had some very negative things as well. We had originally booked two nights, but because of the negatives we ended up staying just the first night and checked-out early. Here's the tale of the tape: The Good: - Linda and Vic (the innkeepers) are very nice. Extremely friendly and easy to talk to, Linda made us feel at home straightaway and was great company and conversation during breakfast. - Speaking of, the food was really good. We had blueberry cream cheese pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs for breakfast. Along side juice, fruit, and coffee/tea. Linda was also very accommodating toward dietary concerns too. - The property and view is gorgeous! Located up on a mountain area, Whispering Firs overlooks the valley and you can even see the Sound and Whidbey Island. - The house itself is warm, comfortable, and inviting. There's a beautiful deck on the backside that it multi-tiered and has a walking path around little ponds. This would be great for entertaining and lounging. The Bad: - To get there, you have to drive up a half-mile gravel road that is full of potholes and bumps. It's narrow and not something that a regular car can navigate quickly. Wish we had a 4x4 vehicle. - The bed in our room (the North Suite) was way too high. It sounds weird to say that, but at roughly 3 feet high, it was a struggle for my 8 month pregnant wife to literally climb in and out of. - There were no curtains on the windows...just blinds that didn't block out all of the light and sight lines. So, there was a big lack of privacy seeing as the windows looked out onto the deck. - This room is located right next to the breakfast room, so it is extremely loud in the mornings. Breakfast is normally served at 8:30, but our morning had a group that wanted to eat at 7:00. That meant at 6:30 things got rolling on the other side of the wall and we heard it all. Neither Good nor Bad, Just Depends on You Point of View: - There is a large collection of stuffed animals (the taxidermy type) throughout the house and bedrooms. A hunter's paradise...so may not be up your alley. All in all, this could be a lovely place to stay; but it just didn't suite us and fit our needs. For someone else, it might be perfect. In this review, I'm simply wanting you to be better informed that I was. Hope it helps.

It was delicious and beautiful. A lot of love and effort is put into this. Sylvia's scones are phenomenal. If she opened up a bakery I would buy all her scones and loaves. The bathroom is a nice size with a big tub. So why the three stars? There is a radiator in the room but ours didn't work well and would heat up and did not stay hot. We were cold. If you are on the first floor please note that sound travels. you can really hear any movement above you and you can hear conversations very well outside your room which didn't make me feel particularly comfortable since I'm sure even just is talking normally can be heard by others as well. Didn't feel amazing from a privacy perspective. When you book it says there is daily housekeeping. There's no daily housekeeping. We were asked if anything was missing from our room by the breakfast server but nothing else. If you're expecting your trash to be emptied or bed to be made that did not happen our whole stay. Location: not really walkable to the downtown area or most things in Victoria. A couple other small things that I wouldn't even mention if the above two were no issue: The bed was okay although not super comfortable in my opinion. The outlets are really inconvenient and there aren't many. They mention there is tea, hot chocolate, and coffee. There's no hot chocolate and no creamer in your room if you want some later. I do think this place could be good for others but it was not the right fit for us. For a bed and breakfast the room just wasn't super comfortable for us to want to spend time there.

If you are hesitant for any reason to book here, don't hesitate in the future! I felt like any other guest and it was such a wonderful night. I should have stayed all of my nights here! I am so glad that we did, i has so much fun dressing up a little and drinking tea out of cute little teacups. We had the rainforest tea and it was delicious! I normally hate tea but i was expressively surprised at how good it was i had to buy some to make at home. The little pastries were delicious and filling! I would love dressing up more and bringing girlfriends instead of my fiancé who didn't appreciate the experience as much lol. The tea area was super cute, i loved the decoration and the view of the water.

We particularly enjoyed sitting around the fireplace and eating dinner in the upstairs suite. The upstairs suite is HUGE and could fit a whole family all on its own. It doesn't come with breakfast though, so be forewarned! I stayed in the nautical room with a half bath and two twin beds. It was perfect for me and I slept well. I was a bit jealous of my co-worker in the quilt room because he had a jacuzzi! Unfortunately, the hostess Sandy was called away for an emergency, so we never got to meet her. She had a friend step in to help check us in and make us breakfast. She did a great job, especially on short notice. I actually would love to go back in the summer with my own family to explore the area and enjoy Sandy's hospitality all over again. The town itself was pretty much closed down since we visited in December. I bet it is more happening in the summer. Bring your own lunch and dinner foods or else your options will be limited to gas station food in the winter.

She is tactful, flexible, intelligent and has a great sense of humor. The House is spotless and has nice and cozy decor. The overall atmosphere is very laid back and positive, in fact it is very easy to make friends with other guests as well. The view from the patio, where (weather permitting) Sandy serves her homemade from scratch breakfasts is nothing short of spectacular. You can eat your French Toast prepared by Sandy on the patio facing the Clallam River lazily flow into the Strait of Juan de Fuca or and watch the Bold Eagle being picked on by couple of crows. In the background you can see Vancouver mountains and fishing vessels and big cargo ships as well. Overall my experience was such as I was visiting an aunt for the summer. I will definitely be going back.

It was also our first bnb experience, and they shot it out of the park! After a long day of exploring, we were met with a home that was warm, filled with all the details you could imagine, & kind hosts. 10/10 would recommend!! And an amazing breakfast to boot! My only note is that it looks like they don't change the sheets or have the room tidied up for you after you check in. If one is staying longer, a room refresh would be nice :)

The Inn was spotless, well-managed, and truly a notch above places we've stayed in the past. Breakfasts were outstanding and served with genuine care and attention--on real china, no less! It made mornings feel extra special, and I'm still thinking about those amazing muffins. We felt truly appreciated and welcomed throughout our stay. The thoughtful touches didn't stop there: Dessert bar each evening, 24-hour access to coffee, tea, cider, hot cocoa, ice, and ice water made us feel right at home. While the rooms weren't huge, they were very comfortable, (and well equipped with anything we could need) and the well-designed common spaces more than made up for it. We especially loved enjoying dinner on the deck each evening--it was the perfect spot to relax and make memories. High praise to the owners for creating such a warm, well-run retreat. We'll absolutely return if the opportunity arises. Kudos and bravo! I wholeheartedly recommend the Misty Valley Inn!
