I cannot say enough good things about The Loft 525, especially the manager, Jo-Ann. She was patient, kind, and very professional, and the venue itself was perfect. The décor was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the staff could not have been kinder. I planned my husband's Celebration of Life to be held in NY, even though we had moved to Los Angeles years ago, so I was doing everything long distance. My stepdaughters visited twice, but I didn't see the place or meet Jo-Ann until the day before. I was a nervous wreck for months and Jo-Ann was the most calming influence, going with the flow right through that night (the number of people kept changing right up until the last minute). I realized as soon as I saw the place and met Jo-Ann that I had made the right choice, and that night was exactly what it needed to be. I cannot recommend The Loft 525 highly enough. read more

The Loft (above The Bellmore Playhouse) has just reopened as a live music venue. They have bands on Friday and Saturday nights and a blues jam on Thursday nights. On Thursday nights the admission is $5, which goes to the host of the jam. The bar orders in boxes of pizza from a local pizzeria, which go for $4 a slice. There are snacks available, as well as a full bar menu. On Friday and Saturday nights the admission is $10. This entitles you to a free movie ticket at the Bellmore Playhouse. That's a good deal! For another $10 you have the option of a dinner buffet, catered by an Italian restaurant across the street. That is another good deal. And, again, there is a full bar with a friendly bartender. The bands are great, all high energy and not too loud. If you are in the vicinity, this is a great place to hang out. read more

Was interested in having a birthday party here... until I spoke with the host. This space is a room on top of a movie theater, not a wedding haul. However I was quoted $90 PER PERSON for a simple birthday party. I asked for minimum requirements but she said food must be provided by her. Regardless, $90pp is what some WEDDING venues charge (not even an open bar) Yet this is a room on top of a movie theater. Who would spend $90 per person for a simple birthday party ?? I can have it literally almost anywhere else for less money WITH an open bar and my guests won't have to walk into little movie theater to get there. I would suggest looking elsewhere for a venue, for your event. I recently attended a wedding here, and the owner/ Maitre D was very unprofessional. She wore a jumpsuit, and was very unpleasant. At the end of the wedding she told the bride that she needed an additional five hundred dollars, because she couldn't pay her employees. read more

MUST READ! DO NOT BOOK AN EVENT HERE!!!!! ITS NOT WORTH IT!! First n foremost i do not like to spread any kind of negativity hence why it took me almost 6 months to write this review. pictures of my sons first birthday always remind me of this UNEXPECTED horrible experience. I worked with Jo-ann to book my event she was so sweet and helpful i was almost sure we would build a business relationship in the future. FFWD day of the party guest arrived 3 ppl made comments about a lady and i was so sure they weren't talking about sweet jo-ann. THEY WERE! She harassed my guest! She told me there would be staff serving the food and that no one from my party could assist due to covid. Jo-ann was the only one serving the food with no help and NO GLOVES. She would not allow my assistance or anyone to help serve the food after having my guest wait a hour before the party was over to eat. Prior to her serving my guest were telling me she was cutting up our food with no gloves. I went to check and sure enough using an arts and craft scissor with NO GLOVES ESPECIALLY during Covid cutting up meat balls.,no one asked her to touch OUR FOOD. We were only advised that she would be serving the food. At this point I couldn't believe jo-ann took a 360 this was a totally different person. I guess she was only sweet and nice until she got my money n signed contract. She argued with my guest and refused to put gloves on i have pictures of her hands covered in sauce from the food and not wearing gloves. I threwout the pan of food that i paid for because I didn't want my guest to eat the food she was playing in. FFWD end of party my guest n family clean up and i am waiting for my security deposit. She begins to sweep with a little broom and tells me i have to wait till she is done sweeping. After waiting about 20 min n complaining the bartender who wanted to go home as well told her he would sweep so that she could hurry up n give us our money and we could all get home. She refused at first being petty and then finally let him sweep. She goes in her office for almost an hour claiming to be looking for my deposit then comes out and says she doesn't have it . At this point way to much games are being played and now my money is involved. We called the cops. After agreeing to meet another day to pick up my deposit she accused me of stealing my own table cloth via text. She kept trying to bribe me with free movie pass snd stale popcorn. When i met to get my deposit she tried to make me sign a contract that if she gives me a free movie party i will not write a bad review. I still have the contract and as u can see I didnt choose the movie party with stale popcorn. Once i got my deposit I didn't want to have anything to do with her again! 0 stars if i could. This past weekend we celebrated our engagement party at The Loft, and I must say it was a great experience from start to finish. Jo-Ann was lovely to work with, she made sure everything was just perfect. They cater their food from Piccolo in Bellmore and it was fantastic! Everyone was raving about it the food and the event space. Rosie and the bartender were amazing and were so attentive the whole night. I would recommend 100x over! This was by far the worst experience we had planning and hosting an event. We worked with the manager Jo-Ann and bartender Bill. Jo-Ann was extremely rude and disrespectful. She was not clear on what is offered in the contract and booking deal, which caused many misunderstandings and confusions. When it came to agreeing on one thing, she refused to work with us, talk about "the customer/ client is right"?!!! One thing that made this experience so tasteless was the day of the event- the set up and clean up. Jo-Ann promised that she would have the place set up for us the morning of our event. We continuously texted her and she never responded, which frighten us, but we figured she couldn't answer because she was setting up. When we got there, we saw only the chairs were set up and they were still bringing things out to set up with 45 minutes left for the party to start!!!! Might I add this was a service paid for!!! She did not apologize for her being VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and UNRELIABLE. We ended up setting up the place ourselves, though 2 or 3 of their staff members helped, they were extremely slow!! It was like working in the twilight zone. I don't know how they are in this business. During the party, she demanded that we give rest of the payment for the party, as opposed to finishing paying at the end of the party, or the night before (which we first agreed on but when we got there, there were nowhere to be found)....after we just had that horrible service, can you believe that?! Bill was more understanding but did not have much say because Jo-Ann is his boss. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. The service was HORRRRRIBLEEEEEE!!! I wish we never booked this place. We saw bad google reviews a week before the party, and it was too late to change location. I would encourage you to never book this venue, unless they change their manager. This could've been a great experience, because they place has pretty decor and is very clean. Our guests had a wonderful time, thanks to us and our DJ, but as for us, it was something we would NEVER want to experience again. Please save yourself the headache!!!!!!! read more
