I cannot even start to begin my thrill experience at The Loft with Christa. Due to covid once you walk in they immediately take your temperature and make you sanitize your hands.. it's a whole new world for all of us but they make you feel safe and comfortable.. After 5 years of going to the same person, things had changed in life and I found christa through social media. I knew what I wanted and wanted done by her. Walking into the salon you feel warm and welcomed.. once sitting down with christa for the first time I immediately felt comfortable, and trustworthy but I was still nervous having someone new work on my mane. After some time, and a blow dry, I was absolutely in love. My hair has never had more life and I have never been more healthy and blonde. She absolutely blew my mind. Came here for the first time today to follow my favorite stylist, Tara, from her past location. Very cute place tucked next to a strip mall in Wayne, the Loft has everything you need in a cool salon. A few chairs and nails, what else do you need? Oh, a great and happy staff which I found even at the end of a long day. I already knew Tara from a previous salon, so I would have gone anywhere to follow her, but I was very surprised with the Loft when I showed up. Massive salons with 20-40 chairs are nice for some, but I'd rather go to a smaller place where the focus is more on doing good work than being part of a scene. If you feel the same, a trip to Loft should be in your future. read more

I'm new to the area and needed a haircut/highlights stat and after reading the reviews on here, I thought I'd give it a shot. They told me upfront what the cost of everything was, so there was no sticker shock when I got to the register to pay before leaving. I didn't have an appointment but they immediately got me prepped and Tara cut/highlighted my hair. I'm very particular about my hair and decided to get side swept bangs (which can be difficult to cut correctly) and she knew exactly what I wanted and her execution was extraordinary! I've never written a review for Yelp before, but feel compelled to do so after my experience at The Loft Salon today with Maria. I have been on maternity leave and haven't cut my hair in almost a year because I've basically been throwing it up in a bun or ponytail most days. My hair was in bad shape, but I didn't want to take too much of the length off because of a family wedding coming up. What an amazing salon!! Everyone there has this amazing ability to make you feel at ease and comfortable and when you're there, you feel like you're at home. Joe has been my stylist for 2 years and I cannot even count the number of compliments that I have gotten on his good work. People love my color and hair cuts - my mother even goes to Joe, based on how much she loved my hair! I can't say enough good things about this place: all of the stylists are super talented, the manicurist is never at a loss for customers and conversation, and there is just a friendly, welcoming, trendy feel to the whole place that makes you want to come back... Found this place threw one of my friends that's been coming here for years. Finally a great haircut. Every time i come I enjoy everybody in the place. I haven't dyed my hair since high school (10+ years!) but I needed something new. I looked at an insane amount of reviews because I am insane about my hair. What really solidified my choice was the before and after photos on the Facebook page. The pictures make all the difference! I called to make the appointment - receptionist was friendly, helpful. Virginia was my stylist - cut and sombre/highlights/ I'm still not sure what it's called but she did an amazing job! She listened to my newbie virgin hair worries and answered all of my questions without making me feel silly. I showed her two pictures of what I liked and she nailed it. Hair and dye/bleach are unpredictable as it is, but she was somehow able to "get" what I wanted and make it happen. In addition to being a incredibly skilled at her craft, she was an all-around nice person. I was the second to last client to leave and she did not rush me or make me feel rushed whatsoever. Other staff members were also friendly and kind - even as they were closing for the evening. It seemed as though many of the stylists here had clients who were regulars which really gave me confidence that I made the right decision. First time at the loft, was not pleased at ALL. Appointment was for 3:40, didn't get seen till 4:00. I was attending an event and asked for a ponytail. She tied my hair up with an elastic rubberband not even a hairband and I got charged 75 DOLLARS for a ponytail! 75! After arriving to my event maybe an hour after my hair was done the rubberband snapped and I ended up wearing my hair down all night as if I didn't even get it done. When I called the next day and told them the situation, staff was very rude and not customer friendly at all and said there was nothing they would do and didn't even apologize. Very bad experience definitely do not recommend and will not be back. read more

She was friendly, polite and professional and did exactly what I asked in terms of color. Although I didn't do anything drastic in terms of a cut, she did a wonderful job. Stephanie is a miracle worker! I had the biggest knot in the back of my head, the size of a fist, and after two long hours she got it out. She then continued to slay my hair with a color and cut. I do not like leaving bad reviews but I feel so upset and angry that I just have to. I went in to ask specifically to NOT chop my hair off because my wedding is in less than two months, but I wanted more layers in my hair so I looked cleaned up and have some sexy style. I started off saying I wanted a trim, on purpose to set the tone, and that I was willing to take a little more only for the layers. I mentioned that I wanted a sexy hair cut, that every time I ask for a layered cut, that I end up looking like a child. I mentioned I wanted a "V" in the back also, to help it appear more sexy. The stylist showed me the 4" she intended to cut and I said ok. But in the end, about 10" was cut off, I do not have a "V" and it is mainly straight across the back,maybe a slight wide "U" at best, and I look like a child again. I had long hair down to my butt and when I pulled it in front of me, it hung well passed my breast down to my stomach, and now I'm so unhappy how it just barely even rests on the very top part of my breast where I wanted it to lay passed it still at least to the bottom of my breast. I have asked several friends and they all agree way more than 4" was taken off and that its just a boring layered cut and that there is no reason I couldn't have gotten a layered cut and kept most of my length. I just can't get over how devastated I am about how this horror story happened to me right before my wedding. I hear and read about these stories constantly and I said to myself, this will not happen to me. But it did. I am so incredibly upset that I have spent so much on my wedding and now I have to figure out how to spend another $200 on hair extensions that I don't want to buy because they probably won't match my hair and I will never wear them again after this event and I don't feel like wearing them at all regardless because I don't want to deal with worrying all day about them falling out of my smooth virgin hair because they won't stay attached. I shouldn't have to even buy these when my hair was so long right before this experience! I just cannot understand how 4" lead to 10"! That is a huge difference. And I'm in a career that measures all day long, so I know exactly how much she held up in her hand. I can say that the salon seemed clean and everyone seemed nice. My stylist was nice as well, and the cut is a good cut, just not what I asked for. I'm just so sad this happened and sad that I have to write this. read more

Avoid this salon. They have no regard for their clients. They cancelled my appointment as I was arriving in their parking lot. The owner didn't even have the courtesy to speak to me personally to explain, but did it through the receptionist. I am a doctor who has visited many salons in the area for many years, and I have never been treated so shabbily. The owners need a lesson in good manners and good business. read more
