However, after they recently installed a new system, I started receiving an unusual amount of text messages, sometimes two per day, since March. With my appointment coming up this week, I simply wanted to make them aware that something might be off with the system. Instead of a constructive response, I was met with arguments and harsh replies, presumably from the owner or an assistant. When I mentioned that maybe I should consider canceling my appointment, they took it upon themselves to cancel it without further discussion. The entire exchange was unprofessional, curt, and certainly not how I would expect a loyal, monthly client who tips generously to be treated. Their response was essentially, "We'll solve the problem by canceling your appointment." That's not a solution.it's a poor attempt at damage control. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone based on that experience. What they didn't expect was that I'd be able to find another salon just around the corner, with amazing reviews and no issues booking an appointment within minutes. To whoever is managing the phone or client communication: I suggest putting the phone down, taking a breath, and thinking carefully before responding in such a dismissive and unprofessional manner. I am happy to share our text exchange, there was no disrespectful or unprofessional behavior on my end

However, I experienced repeated issues across multiple appointments with lashes falling out in chunks and being stuck together, which raises serious concerns about proper isolation and the health of my natural lashes. I was also charged each time to come back and fix these issues. After my most recent fill--when a chunk came out shortly after--I sent a photo and was then told she does not have the ability to properly isolate lashes and that she should have communicated that beforehand. She also mentioned that most of her clients are over the age of 40. I was then told she could no longer service me, with no referral or guidance provided. Allowing this to continue over multiple appointments, and only acknowledging it afterward, was extremely unprofessional and put the health of my lashes at risk. Update 3/21/26 after Elaine's response: I also want to clarify that I never requested Mega Volume lashes. I asked for a fuller, voluminous look, which is a standard service. I had been a consistent client since October, and these issues occurred across multiple appointments. If you felt from the beginning that this was not a good fit or that you couldn't properly perform the service, that should have been communicated early on--not after continuing to service me for months. At one point, the issue was attributed to my dog being present, but even after adjusting for that, the same problems continued. I am currently dealing with discomfort due to multiple natural lashes being stuck together, which highlights the importance of proper isolation. Being dropped unexpectedly has also left me scrambling to find a new technician willing to correct this work, which is especially difficult as a new client. This was never about Mega Volume--it was about repeated retention issues, poor isolation, and lack of communication, which ultimately impacted the health of my natural lashes.

Elaine responded to my email inquiry quickly and was able to fit me in to her schedule before my big event. Her work was exceptional and I am still getting compliments from friends. I highly recommend this place and of course Elaine.

Goodbye to my former self and a WARNING to those contemplating what I once considered a small…read morecosmetic procedure ....I just wanted to take a moment and share my story to spare someone from going through what I've gone through; the life long complications and the realization that I will be permanently disfigured both aesthetically and functionally. The face in the mirror will NEVER be the same as it was prior to January 30th nor will my soul. On January 30th: Celebrating my 40th Birthday I decided to get filler in my nasolabial folds (wrinkles between the lips and nose). Feb 1st: Incredible pain and white blanching/bluish tint. Told it was normal. Bruising. Feb 2nd: Realized what I was experiencing was skin necrosis and the tissue on the left side of my nose was dead and the cartilage was collapsing in on itself. This was from my own "gut instinct" that it wasn't bruising as I was told; the black skin was not going to "grow back". A laser treatment or IPL was not going to reshape my nose, as I was told. For the next several weeks I was shuffled to a "private" waiting room as to not let other potential clients see the damage that was done to my face. My self esteem, at an all time low, was further shattered by being hidden from plain view because the "med spa" didn't want their bottom line to be hurt. After that "follow up", where I was yet again told everything was fine and put "Aquaphore" on it; I made the decision that it was time to seek proper treatment from a competent medical professional. What followed was many months of not being able to leave my house unless it was to get my wet to dry bandages changed. The possibility of infection and further cartilage damage was my sentence to spend the next four months within the four walls of my home. In May I underwent my first reconstruction surgery. Skin and cartilage was taken from my ear to reconstruct the interior of my nose. This helped me be able to breath again (50%) from my left nostril. It was the first of many surgeries and procedures that will occupy the better part of my life. To hear the words, from a well respected facial reconstruction surgeon, that I will be permanently disfigured- was a tough pill to swallow. Yes, I made the ultimate decision to under go the procedure. However, I was never warned of the risks. I had absolutely no idea what to look for. Had I been properly informed of ALL the risks; even if they are considered rare, perhaps I would had made a more INFORMED decision. I was never given a waiver to review or sign. I never was verbally told of the dangers. I'm letting you know the risks and dangers of what some consider a small "cosmetic" procedure. If you are going to go that route; please consider going to a board certified surgeon. Someone that is familiar with the product they are injecting in your body. And if there is a complication, they are knowledgeable to be able to help you before the damage becomes permanent. The sad part, the "med spa" that did this, never once offered to pay ANY of my medical bills. Never heard from them again after the last follow up in mid February. I guess they thought I would go away and they were above the law. But doctors take a Hippocratic Oath to uphold specific ethical standards. This was not the case at Aestedispa in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Shame on you Dr. Christy Cone. I hope you don't do this to another client and hide behind your fake smile.
