My wife brought her car in for an oil change and while there the "technician" broke the oil dipstick off and it was stuck in the tube. My wife was not allowed out of her vehicle to inspect the damage, nor was she given any explanation on next steps or even a manger name to contact. She was told "if you come back during the week during daytime hours the manager will be here and he might be able to help". So it turns out there is a "design flaw" with my wife's car and this problem (dipstick breaking off) is fairly common. HOWEVER - the fact of the matter is, the dipstick broke off at the hands of a Mr. Lube technician. Any other business would have immediately said "Oh, we're sorry, let us give you your oil change "on the house" and that would have been that. But they didn't offer her any discount, nor did they offer any reparation or offer of help for the inconvenience. So my wife takes her car to the dealership and has to pay $200 for a new dipstick ad the labour to remove the broken one (since the car had to be put up on a hoist and the dipstick tube had to be removed to get the old broken one out). While they were working - they found that Mr. Lube had not filled her oil back up. She was over 2 litres of oil low. So they also had to top up the oil that my wife paid FULL PRICE for already. She contacted the store manager and he was extremely rude to her, unhelpful and basically told her that the issue was a "known issue" with the car, and she was on her own. At the end of the day - it was our choice to bring the vehicle to another shop for repair - HOWEVER, an offer SHOULD have been made to refund the oil change (as it wasn't completed) and an extra step would have been to offer replacement cost for the dipstick itself. (only an $18 part) THAT would have been good customer service. But as it stands, my wife has been playing back and forth with the store manger there for over a month - he keeps giving her the run around and finally stopped calling her back all together. So she filled out the "Mr. Lube" survey which simply goes to the same management group "Prairie Lube" and now she's been in touch with another douche nozzle known as the "business development manager" that is talking down to her and making excuses for why they broke the car saying "it's a known issue" and that there will be no refund, and no reparations at all. Apparently that is the final word. So Mr. Lube, and your franchisee "Prairie Lube" - I hope you're reading this. Because of a lack of empathy and any sort of ownership of the problem, as well as a lack of a simple solution (refund of oil change is all my wife asked for) you've lost not only one customer but two. We will no longer be bringing any of our vehicles to Mr. Lube for service of any sort. We will be telling all of our friends and family, and I will no longer be bringing my service vehicle to Mr. Lube either, I will also make sure that our fleet manager knows what lousy service you provide I should mention that the 'biz development manager" from Prairie Lube, did offer a "free oil change" coupon as part of his last EXTREMELY rude email...but really - after all of this do they really think we will EVER be back? Not impressed, at all. I hope losing business was worth not refunding the $70 for an incomplete oil change.

Everything was explained to me very clear and they did try the usual upsell on tranny fluid flush and front diff flush but i politely said no thanks and there was no hard sell. They adjusted my tire pressure, cleaned the windshield and back window, lubed the doors and filled up my washer fluid. All in all i was happy. Price was similar to dealer but i was in and out quick. I would consider using them again, especially with the discount given on yelp ($15).

And they do their due diligence to learn about your make and model of car, so they can let you know what are common problems to expect, and what may be needed in a month or a year so you're not caught by surprise. Best friends a gal could hope for, and added bonus that they keep me alive on the road every day. Great value, too. I was driving a lemon a few years ago, and Dave said, "I've run a cost analysis on how much you pay to fix your car every year compared to an average family. As your mechanic, I would love you to keep fixing this car. As your friend, please stop fixing this car." That's the kind of honesty you can expect at Banno Auto.

I arranged to have my brother do the work. Upon doing it he discovered the work was already complete. My brother called and confirmed that Dave Banno worked on my vehicle for free as a gift. He replaced three of my brakes and did an oil change and washed my vehicle. At first I was so grateful. I started spending time with him and gave him a Christmas gift. He was really nice at first but after five days of spending time with him, one night he slapped and choked me. I also recently noticed that he put a sticker on the back of my car that is very difficult to take off, advertising Banno Auto. He did this without consent also. I wouldn't put it passed him to say that I stopped spending time with him for a different reason other than the fact that he did things to my property without my permission, assaulted me, and has been trying to buy me, manipulate me and guilt me into spending more time with him. I really hate that I have to write this but I believe that if I don't he may do this and maybe worse things to other women.

I spent $157.50 at 2nd Repairer and another $107.50 at the 3rd Repairer {i now even have doubts about whether or not other of the repairs were necessary} which he has refused to reimburse me for and i reckon that his team forgot to spray the terminal with a good quality oxidation retardant after replacing it. This does not reimburse me for all of my time wasted traveling back and forth including bus rides and waiting in his office.

The first time everything went smoothly and he also offered me a discount which was awesome. The second time around no discount was offered and he tried to convince me that my Oil Drain Bolt needed to be replaced. I occasionally do my own oil changes, so I know that this is not the case. I did inspect the bolt afterwards, and it certainly didn't need replacing. The only conclusion that I can come up with is that they just wanted to upsell me on that, and it's not even a huge extra cost, it's just that certainly it's something that didn't need to be done, and I don't appreciate trying to be forced into something that's clearly a lie. I understand that these places make their money partially through upselling, and sometimes that's alright if it's concerning things that actually would help the vehicle like changing dirty transmission fluid, but not if it doesn't need to be changed! That's essentially, let's say a lower form of fraud.
