I was referred to Dr Lucas for tummy tuck in 2020 at which time he started a new surgery procedure. Surgery didn't go well, and I was left with a wound about a quarter size and deep which had to be packed twice a day. He discussed doing a revision in his office, but I wasn't comfortable with that. With Covid, moving into a house, retiring and moving to another State it was Mar 2025 when I could get a revision by Dr Lucas. I drove back to TN, lined up hotel, and did everything I was told to do. The night before surgery he called me about needing an iron infusion due to my B-Cell Leukemia. I listened to him, and I straight out asked him, "You are the expert, so should I be getting this revision?" If he had said, "NO" I would have packed up and driven back to lower AL. He didn't say "NO", but wanted me to check with Oncologist which I did the next morning before surgery. My blood number count were within range; therefore, I couldn't get an infusion because insurance would not pay. Oncologist nurse said, "There was no issue with me getting the surgery done". Long story short, surgery was done and I've never felt so mutilated, ugly, with zero confidence like I do now. I've gone back and forth with his office and have been refused a refund for the revision and hotel stay. I was told in person and by email that a third surgery can be done in office to correct the surgery scarring. I have been sick to my stomach and should not had went back a second time, but I trusted him that everything would be good after revision. I was not going back for a third attempt. I got a second opinion in AL, and the surgeon said, "He would not had done the revision in the manner that Dr Lucas did, because the skin was already very thin". I will say, that he has a very good staff, but his skills as far as my surgery type is lacking. I paid a lot of money for both surgeries, and my request for a refund for the revision was denied! Total Nightmare I had a face and neck lift in February 2022, so I'm a year and 4 months post op. A lot of things went wrong. For some reason Dr. Lucas, instead of butting the incisions at the hair line like he told me he would, he came out from just above the ear and went over to the corner of my eyes with the incisions. This GAVE ME CROWSFEET and Botox, filler or corrective surgery won't correct. So, I have crowfeet I did not have before and visible incisions lines on my face for life The incision on the left side caused an interruption in blood flow, this caused a large patch of skin to be damages, now I have a Big red patch on my check. Dr. Lucas offered me three micro needling treatments, there was some improvement after each treatment. I managed to get two more out of him and he had no interest in helping me anymore, so I decided to have the treatment at my dermatologist office. I have had a total of 7 treatments and will need a lot more. I'm worried it will never be totally healed. What really made me furious was how he pretended he had no idea what could have happened, well he lied or he is not a very versed surgeon because I went to two other cosmetic surgeons and they new right away. One said to me, your surgeon told you this could be a complication? to which I said NO The incisions behind the ears and neck look like Frankenstein scars. Dr. Lucas did do a revision on one side but not the other. It looks better but I probably will never be able to put my hair up without having the scars noticeable The incision under my chin was placed lower than most Dr's place them, so it is visible with just a slight raising up of my head. The skin below the incision looks discolored. At first Dr. Lucas seemed to be committed to helping the best he could. The one corrective procedure he did was a year out. I think I'm lucky I got that. He did not seem to want to help after a year of visits just to have him look at the scars and telling to me come back in a month or two. Turns out after a year a male practice law suit can not be filed. I never should have trusted him to me right. I should have filed a law suit so I could pay another surgeon to do what ever they could read more

Dr Lucas & his staff were amazing! Dr Lucas called my husband several times to check on me,after my surgery. He answered any/all questions & concerns. He never rushed our visits ,although I know he has several other patients. I had a tummy tuck with lipo suction. The scar is straight,I asked him to make sure that I wasn't square looking & I can tell he tried his best to accommodate me. I had a hematoma & he wanted to see me,that day. I truly couldn't ask for a better dr & team. They are all so kind,compassionate & we're ready to help,in any way. I had 2 C-sections,a hysterectomy & my stomach was a mess! I have thyroid issues & am now in my 50's,my stomach has been a eyesore to me & made me feel disgusting.Im very satisfied & I would highly rec Dr Lucas & his team. read more

I did plenty of research on local surgeons when contemplating my reduction surgery and The Lucas Center stood out from the bunch. My process went very quickly as I was self pay and I was in surgery within 3 weeks of my consultation. I definitely liked Dr Lucas' bedside manner as he came across as very compassionate and caring. The girls that worked in the office were all very sweet and accommodating. The evening of my surgery Dr Lucas called me at home from his cell phone to check on me and check to see if I had any issues or questions. That is definitely not something he had to do and further lends to the content of his character. Now the reason I can't give 5 stars. I met with Jackie on multiple occasions to discuss the total cost of surgery. Outlined for me was an all inclusive list that included hospital fees and payment was due prior to surgery. I paid as outlined in my cost sheet. Approximately 6 months after the surgery I received a letter from the hospital stating I was going to be put in collections for failure to pay. Confused, I called Jackie and explained the situation thinking there had to be some mistake. I still had the total cost breakdown sheet that she gave me after all. Well, she tells me that she "forgot" to include the fee for the biopsy of the breast tissue removed but that I should have known that anytime tissue is removed that is has to be tested by pathology. I'm not in the medical field and this was my first surgery so I'm not sure how this was supposed to be common knowledge. I tried to dispute this with them, the hospital, my credit bureaus etc. and finally gave up when I received a summons to court in the mail (during a pandemic) where I was being sued. That fast! So the cost of my surgery was $1500 more then I was told it would be! So beware of "hidden" or "forgotten" costs when receiving an "all inclusive" cost sheet! read more

I have known Dr. Lucas for a number of years as my son receives treatment for cleft lip. I interviewed several physicians both in Knoxville and at Vanderbilt before placing my trust in Dr. Lucas. The staff is very friendly I totally agree with the previous comments. However two weeks ago I had issues with frown lines between the brows and expressed this as my major concern. $500 later and 2 week later I returned to his office this time not a salon only to have him tell me I have more activity than normal for 20 units. I completely disagree. My previous Botox was exactly that and lasted a long time. He offered to fix it of course but at an additional cost to me. Lol. Last week I met with Brooke Nix at Dr. Jeffery Halls office and had over $3000 worth of treatment and still have future visit at no charge if not completely happy with the results. Although compassionate at first, Dr Lucas' ego emerged after he completed a lob sided breast reconstruction following a botched surgery by Dr Chun at UTC. I had yet another surgery with Dr Lucas that left me with breast folds at different heights and no support for the implants. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and cried many tears, Dr Lucas dropped me as a patient refusing to fix the issues he left me with. After 2 extremely painful surgeries and his bruised ego I can not recommend Dr Lucas. He has limited skills related to breast cancer reconstruction and limited patient empathy. read more

The staff was very attentive to not only to my own expressed concerns regarding the procedures, but my emotional needs as well. My desired procedures caused... well, alittle anxiety to say the least. The staff is amazing! Always pleasant, friendly, and fun to be around. Most of all, I feel they really care about me as a whole person. When I first met Dr Lucas, I knew within minutes that I made the right choice. I often tease him about being a perfectionist. And honestly, that is exactly what I wanted from my doctor. Right? Initially I had considered other surgeons in the area, but after my first experience with Dr. Lucas and his staff I knew I would be in the uptmost capable and professional hands.
