What an adorable store! And the prices are much more reasonable than we are used to seeing in…read moresimilar stores in Texas. Not cheap, but definitely doable. Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon on the way to Denver. Great selection of clothes, jewelry, local products, footwear, Christmas gifts and knick knacks. Several items designed around concealed carry as well, such as purses and jackets. Husband found a Sherpa lined Wrangler denim jacket for $69.95. Service during his "hunt" was solicitous but not clingy. Owner (?) was helpful with our travel plans as well, teaching us how to find WY road conditions. SUCH a plus since it ended up being a very long drive, thanks to the weather. Were going to stop by on the way back - husband saw some boots on a man in a local restaurant that were stocked at Martindale's - but we were in town too early for their Sunday hours, Will stop in next time.

BEWARE. VERY RUDE OWNER. My family of 9 members came in the store. First, my husband was looking at…read moreboots and declined the owners offer to try some on. She replied very snarky " be that way then" then quickly tried to come back from her rude comment by saying, " we've been so busy later, I just have no energy." A few minutes later, my father asked her if a poster on the wall was for sale and she said " does it have a price tag on it?" in a very rude and condescending tone. She began to describe how personal it was to her, so my father told her he understood that and continued browsing. Once my father exited the store, to wait outside on us, she began very loudly and very rudely describing the interaction to an employee not realizing we were a family. She even said he continually asked to purchase the poster after she said no. Which is a flat-out exaggerated lie. We set our items down and left the store. Perhaps she needs to retire or freshen up on her sales training because she does not seem to be a happy person at work.

NU2U, Laramie -- On October 24 at 4:30 pm, I stopped in on my way to the airport. Downstairs in the…read morebargain basement (where everything is discounted), I found a lightweight Columbia jacket and upstairs a pair of jeans. The jacket had a pink clearance tag like the other 50%-off items, and the tag matched the jacket (brand/color/size) with a printed price of $33--see my photo for reference. It was also dirty with spots on the shoulder I am hoping will come out. At checkout, the clerk said the tag was "wrong," took the jacket away, and I waited about 13 minutes at the register alone while a long line formed. When he returned, he said the jacket was now $40, but he'd honor 50% off the new price--which came to $20 instead of $16.50 (50% of $33), an extra $3.50. This last-minute price change felt confusing--especially since it was on the clearance floor and the tag details matched the item. What would have helped: * Honor clearly tagged clearance pricing (or post a clear exception policy). * If a tag needs verifying, ring up the other people with another checker so the line isn't held up. * Post the basement discount policy near the rack so expectations are clear. Sharing this so management can improve the process as this felt terrible. If there's a policy explanation I missed, I'm happy to update this review.

I've been shopping at the Laramie Murdoch's for the past 3 years since moving here, and…read moreunfortunately, the management has consistently been disappointing. While the store has potential, the lack of leadership, poor employee treatment, and overall lack of customer service make it hard to support this location anymore. Let's start with the management. The general manager, an older woman named Shellie (last time I was there), is consistently rude and unprofessional. I've witnessed her talk down to cashiers and clothing workers on multiple occasions while laughing and joking with the male employees who handle feed and loadouts. She seems to treat younger female employees especially poorly, offering them no guidance or respect. There's a toxic culture of favoritism, and Shellie appears disinterested in helping customers or fostering a positive work environment. One time, I saw her make a clothing associate cry in front of customers -- completely unacceptable behavior from someone in a leadership role. The rest of the management team is hit or miss. The younger female manager is excellent -- always focused, helpful, and seems to know her stuff. She's one of the few bright spots in the store. The younger male manager is also helpful, but he tends to be too friendly with staff and doesn't appear to take leadership seriously. It's frustrating to see team members standing around on their phones in the feed and tools section, talking among themselves (including managers), while customers struggle to find help. To make matters worse, the bookkeeping staff used to be extremely disrespectful -- particularly one older woman who thankfully no longer seems to work there. Her attitude and lack of professionalism were another example of the poor leadership culture. I've never written a Yelp review until now, but this store has had too many consistent problems to stay silent. A friend of mine had a daughter and her boyfriend who worked here -- the daughter came home crying nearly every night due to mistreatment from management, especially from Shellie and the former bookkeeper. That's heartbreaking and completely avoidable if proper leadership were in place. The customer service has steadily declined. It's common for the feed crew to get on the radio and say they're too busy, leaving customers to wait -- that's not service, it's avoidance. There's no sense of kindness, teamwork, or community in this store. Employees are underpaid and mistreated, and customers often leave frustrated and ignored. This Murdoch's needs a serious change in leadership. Without it, nothing will improve -- not for customers, and certainly not for the hardworking employees who deserve better.
