I went inside and was surprised on how much of a variety they have for good books besides the big box stores. Literally walls of books. I also thought it was unique how they priced their inventory (paper slip in the book). The fact that I got two books under $10 was a steal. I haven't been to the Friends of the Library book sale in a while, so going was kind of an…read moreexperience. I didn't really have a goal in mind for what I wanted, so just going through the stacks and browsing to see if anything caught my eye was the basic plan. Lots of people lined up, but I got through the line pretty quickly. Inside, the books are arranged in a reasonable order, and the different sections are easy to identify, so finding areas that interested me was not a problem. Coming across the cooking section, I found that there were a number of smaller cookbooks that I like to term as "Wive's Club Cookbooks" which can be some of the best/most entertaining cookbooks you can come across due to the nature of the recipes that are contained in them. You never know what you are going to find in them, though recipes from the 1960's are prevalent and gelatin comes into heavy play. Good stuff there, and I stocked up on them. Overall, the Friends of the Library book sale is always a good thing to go to!

For me, there's just something special about a real book that you can hold in your hands. If I didn't have a hundred other things pulling me in different directions every day, I could honestly spend hours getting lost in a bookstore and reading all day long. Books-A-Million is one of those places that reminds me to slow down. It's easy to wander through the different sections, discover a title you never knew existed, or leave with a journal, puzzle, or thoughtful gift along with a new book. I love that bookstores like this still exist in a world that's insanely digital and unhealthy. Maybe one day, in my later years, life will slow down enough that I can spend entire afternoons curled up with a stack of books and nowhere else to be. Until then, I'll keep sneaking into bookstores every chance I get, because there's something about being surrounded by books that just feels like home.

The staff was extremely rude and I felt pressured into selling, but now I very much regret it. In addition, they provided no context or explanation to the price they bought my books at. I have no faith in this business and feel thoroughly scammed. I would suggest using platforms like Facebook to sell your textbooks to fellow students or donate your old books to people who actually need them.
