I simply did not enjoy the food. I was excited about trying out this establishment, but was very disappointed with the food ordered... went for breakfast, the grits had an odd taste, the waffles were flavorless... the chicken wings were flavorless (ok, when I added hot sauce) - egg and cheese biscuit (least expensive thing I ordered) almost taste decent. Overall the service was good- and the mimosas were good... that alone is not enough for me to recommend this place to anyone- I truly feel like I WASTED $100... having breakfast here. read more

This restaurant recently opened. The business that resided here before was called Martins. I got the fries n philly cheesesteak and fried collard green egg rolls. The service was good and so was the food! They had a few very unique items so of course i had to try the fried collard green rolls and I plan to go back to try the seafood grilled cheese. Those were the two magnolia signature items. I believe the fries are homemade. They are a nice mix of crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with a tasty seasoning. I'm sure once they have more time here, they'll be able to spice up the ambiance-add some pictures to the walls, etc. They had good music on-oldies soul. Welp guys! I tried a new place called "The Magnolia Diner" in Gulfport,  MS. Walked in and was greeted by a nice young lady. The place was clean and soft music was playing..Ithink its a black owned establishment. .Another female came from the back to take our order and proceeded to take our drinks. I order a sweet tea and he got a coffee..Coffee came out piping hot which he enjoyed and my tea was super sweet and not even full in the cup. I then asked about the omelets..I wanted to know if they could make them with egg whites and the waitress stated "we don't have that". Now don't get me wrong everyone doesn't serve egg whites but yall have them. If you have eggs you have egg whites..I then ordered a side of bacon to my surprise it comes with 2 pieces, so I then had to order 2 sides of bacon..He got eggs with pork sausage. The bacon was very gummy as if it was placed in the microwave. They have other items on the menu. The food looks like it could be ok. I won't knock em but they need more options on the menu. I went here on a Sunday morning around 830. I was shocked to see it was tiny and quaint, but so so cozy. The employee greeted me and told me open seating. So I sit next to the desk. There is music playing, it's a little loud but not unbearable by any means. It's music that makes you move a little. The staff is so so kind, joking with restaurant, just very nice people to be in the company of. There isn't a lot of staff so don't expect food out on 10 mins if it's busy. Please be patient and kind. The food is so good. I got an omelet with toast and hash browns. Food was really good. I'll definitely be returning. read more

I ditched a boring, morning breakfast at home and treated myself to dining at the Magnolia Diner in Gulfport, MS. This quaint cafe is lovely (filled with original artwork on the walls) and the PERFECT stop for a delicious meal. I was HUNGRY!! I dined on their wonderful Shrimp and Grits breakfast with rich, buttery grits topped with a generous mound of seasoned, sautéed shrimp (which you may also order fried!). I cleaned my plate it was SOOO GOOD!! The ladies who operate this establishment are kind and gracious hosts. They are attentive to their customers and are the other reason this diner SHINES!! This place made the best bacon I've had in a long time, not to mention the blueberry pancakes were poppin'

A very disappointing experience. We felt ignored and invisible. There was one hostess and one server on duty for the dozen or so tables in the restaurant. About half the tables had customers, the others were empty. It was not busy. Hostess told us to "sit wherever we want" and we had to go find our own menus. It took at least 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged by the server, and we were poured one mediocre cup of coffee without any refills despite asking several times. Food was lukewarm and took about 35-40 minutes. Several parties came in to sit down while we were there, and after not being greeted or served after half an hour or so, they got up and left. Awkward. The staff made no effort to check on us during our meal. No butter on the pancakes or waffle. Fried chicken was tough and overcooked. The cute decor has potential, but the staff and foodservice need to be brought up to speed. Sadly, we won't be back. I never write snarky reviews. Usually there is something good to say about every experience, but not today. I hope they can get their act together so their business can thrive. read more

My children and I had brunch here. We ordered The Magnolia and Egg & Cheese Biscuit, it was descent my girls enjoyed it. The environment was clean and have a lot of family photos of the owner. The customer service could be better they are not rude but can be better. The kitchen is covered by a curtain so you can hear them discuss anything. An homeless man came right in and poured himself coffee one of the waitress had to dismiss him. Which is not any of their fault. I want to add that it is family owed business overall okay. read more

Wonderful southern food, the waffles and wings is some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. Portions are large. The shrimp and grits were another hit. The space is homey with lots of personality. The service was excellent, attentive and fast. Somehow they seem to have enough servers, maybe because it is a family business and they really care about your experience. read more

This place was a gem to stumble upon during our short stay in Biloxi. We had exceptional service from our great waitress and her helper. We ordered omelets and although it took a little bit to get them, the wait was totally worth it! The omelets were incredible! We love to support local and hope to be back in the future. read more

Maybe ordering in is better(?), but I ordered three basic breakfast meals for takeout 50 minutes ago. Was told it would be 15-20 minutes. It's not busy and I've watched three groups of patrons come and go ordering and eating. Just got my food (luke warm) and there are three items missing and some paltry servings, plus they didn't bother brewing my coffee orders ahead, so now I'm waiting on those as well. The hostess/server has been pretty much ambivalent even as I'm checking up asking about my food and made me wait on customers checking out as my to go food was sitting on a table next to her after the wait. Food was good with decent portions. not sure how they prep their toast. But it almost seem like it was cooked on a flat top instead of a toaster. Service person seemed inexperienced. You better ask for anything you might need. She does not offer up anything like; butter, jelly...etc. She was friendly. Thought she was going back for my jelly. She heard her cell phone ring. Then proceeded to sit behind their front desk. Unfortunately for me, the desk is higher than her chair she was sitting in. Unless I got up it was very hard to get her attention. I was the only one there for breakfast. Music a little loud for the a.m. and she didn't hear me either. Too tired to get up to grab her attention. My one pet peeve was when a couple left when I sat down. She cleared the table and walked over to put her tip behind their front desk. Never wiped down the table. My table didn't look like it was cleaned either. I had something sticky sticking to my skin. It's not enough that I don't think I would try it again. We decided to try this place for lunch. Their rating on Yelp made it sound promising. This was the worse place I have ever eaten at in Gulfport. The service was horrible. No customer service skills and very slow. It took 35 minutes to get our food with no other tables ahead of us. Their tea tasted as if they have never cleaned the urn. The Philly cheese steak was smaller than a hotdog and one of our two orders of fries was ice cold. Please do not waste your time, money or tastebuds here. Breakfast, Brunch, & Lunch even take some to go for dinner if you want.. but the variety of food is what makes it even better it's all real southern cooking. THE OWNER is SO AMAZING.
